"I think it's time for us to start walking again, we only have a few more hours till nightfall, and we need to find shelter before it gets dark," I say, and Jess nods in agreement.
"So, where exactly are we going?" Jess asked as we watch Odett running around playing, making both of us smile.
"I think we need to head toward New Orleans," Dosha said. "There are many witches there. Maybe one of them could help you with your magic."
"Dosha thinks we should go to New Orleans," I answer.
"Who is Dosha? And why New Orleans?" She asks, looking at me questionably.
"Dosha is my wolf, and she thinks we'll be able to find a witch in New Orleans that can help me with my magic," I say, turning my head to meet her gaze, not sure if she would believe me. "Oh, and the rings in our eyes are to show that Odette and I are hybrids. Though I'm not sure why they appear and disappear."
"Okay, New Orleans it is, then. If I can remember correctly, it should be directly south of us, it will take a few days of walking to get there." She says as she gets ready to shift.
"Odett sweetie, you ready to go?" I ask, but when I turn around to find her, she's gone, and Jess and I start to panic. A second later, a male rogue with mated dark brown hair and black bloodshot eyes walks out from behind a tree with a knife to Odetts throat.
"Move, and I'll slit her throat!" The rogue yells, and we both freeze. Neither of us will risk her life.
"Dosha, what do I do?" I ask. I look over to see Jess, and I can tell she's having the same conversation with Shina.
"Take her place. I have just enough strength to fight back, but I'll have to push forward, which means you will lose control of your body for a bit." She replies.
"Do it! I'll do anything to protect Jess and Odett," I tell her.
"Take me," I plead with the rogue. "Let her go, take me."
"And why would I do that?" The rogue says with a sickening grin that makes my skin crawl.
"Shit, What do I say?" I ask Dosha.
"Take your clothes off. He'll be distracted." She says, and without questioning her at all, I start striping. A second later, I'm standing completely naked, in front of the rogue. His eyes go wide. Suddenly he shoves Odett toward Jess and starts making his way to me with his knife still in his hand.
"Take her and keep her safe, Jess," I say as I move myself between them and the rogue. "Now run!"
"Rainie!" Odett screams as Jess tries to pull her away.
"It's okay, just go with Jess," I tell her, trying hard to hide my nervousness. I hear her screaming and crying for me as Jess pulls her away, and then it was the rogue and me. The rogue's eyes are dark with lust as he smiles, making me cringe, and I know what happens next.
"At least they're safe now." I think to myself as the darkness consumes me.

Jessicas P.O.V.
I grab Odett and ran as fast as possible, with her fighting against me the whole time. I'll never forgive myself for leaving her behind, but I have to protect Odett as well.
"Go back!!" Odett cries out, but I can't, so I just stay quiet and keep running. Suddenly we're surrounded by six wolfs growling and baring their teeth at us. I push Odett behind me, and crouched into a defensive stance, ready to protect Odett at all costs.
Suddenly I smell the most delectable smell of honeysuckles after a rainstorm... Shina starts losing her shit in my head, making it almost impossible to concentrate. A handsome guy with short dirty blond hair and the brightest blue eyes appears in front of me, holding his hand to his men to stand down, making their growls instantly stop. I find myself releasing a breath I didn't realize I was holding in, and relief instantly floods my whole body when I realize they aren't rogues. But start to panic again when I notice we're in another pack territory being rogues after leaving my old pack.
"I'm sorry, we didn't mean to cross into anyone's territory. We're just trying to get away from a rogue that attacked us." I say quickly, as I throw myself to his feet to beg for forgiveness.
"You two were attacked by another rogue?" He asks with a dark expression on his face.
"There's three of us. My sister stayed behind to give me time to get Odett to safety," I say. "Please let me go help her."
"The Kings men will take care of the rogue." He says gently, as he lifts me to my feet, making tingles shoot through my whole body. He looks at another man behind him and gives him a nod before looking back at me. "Go with gamma Sam. He'll make sure you're both safe and comfortable. We'll talk more after I handle the rogue." Then runs in the direction we ran from, his men following after him.
"Wait, did he say Kings men?" I ask Gamma Sam.
"You heard right, miss," Sam says as he turns around, leading the way for Odett and me to follow him.
