Ever since I heard Nana mention the name Jaden, I had felt something strange, which my brain found so hard to understand, and all my heart had longed for was the day I would set my eyes on him. I had heard a lot about having mates and that intense bond that pulls their hearts together like a string, but I had yet to have my first shift, so it was impossible to have a mate.
Prince Jaden was someone I had never met before, but his name rang a bell in my head and heart, and I felt there was something about him that my entire being craved.
It was so sudden, and I never imagined it would be at this moment. I didn't expect him to come in at this very moment when my heart is shattered in pain and intense guilt for the murder of Eric and Stan. Now that he was standing in front of me, looking straight at my face, I felt something I had never felt before.
In my head, I had always imagined how cute he must look, but seeing him in reality made me realize how much I had failed in creating the real imaginary appearance of him. He could be mistaken as an angel as his handsomeness was beyond normal.
His hair was gold and wavy, giving him that bad boy look that appears extremely hot to match with his blue sexy eyes, which were so heartwarming to stare at. His arms and chest were all muscular and really exposed how powerful he must be, but I don't know why my feelings towards him were beyond normal attraction.
I heard the alpha saying something to him, but he gave no response, nor did he act like he was the one that was just spoken to.
I couldn't stand how hot and sexy he was the more he looked into my eyes, and I'm not sure why he was so interested in my face, especially my eyes. It was like he was studying every part of it.
A quick glance to my right and I could see Nana burning in envy. Her eyes were bloodshot and all I could read from her expression was bitterness and evil. If she has the opportunity at that moment, I am sure she won't hesitate to slaughter me.
"Why are you in tears?" I heard someone speak to me, but I couldn't reply because I was unsure if the voice was real. Even as I saw his lips move, I still doubted because of how smooth and thick they sounded.
I was expecting to hear a harsh and unfriendly tone, as I had always heard rumours that he didn't talk calmly to anyone, especially girls, as he disliked them all. Why does he sound this way to me?
Could it be what I had been daydreaming about?
"Prince, you won't believe the evil this girl did. She deserves to be hung alive, but I had to plead on her behalf." Nana chimed in with her stupid lies, smiling sheepishly as she kept looking at Jaden with her eyes filled with extreme lust.
Jaden finally turned away from me and toward her, but his face had contorted into a deep frown of irritation.
"Did I request an answer from you? Are you a mad woman?" His voice, which was calm when he talked to me, was suddenly so cold and extremely harsh that I was scared by it.
Nana was so shocked that her mouth went agape. She glanced at me, and all I could see in those eyes were deep envy and resentment.
"I am sorry for jumping in." She fumbled with a little bow, and Jaden didn't even reply to her before turning back at me. My father was just mute, watching everything play in front of him. It was obvious that the prince was giving me special treatment.
"Get up from there." He spoke to me gently again, forcing my heart to skip a beat as I wondered why he was acting that way towards me.
I rose to my feet feeling happy, but just then, my eyes caught the streaks of blood that smeared the floor, and I instantly remembered that the two men who had treated me so well were killed just now.
"No...." I sobbed silently as tears blinded my eyes. Everything around me seemed to have disappeared, as my entire being was clouded by guilt and sadness. I felt like a killer because they lost their lives all because of me.
"Why are you crying?" I heard Jaden ask me again, but this time, I couldn't even look up at him, let alone reply. My heart was bleeding as it kept dawning on me that I would never see Stan again, nor would Eric meet his family.
I couldn't stop crying as I imagined how his entire family would feel about his death; they would all despise me for causing the death of their son and brother.
This is so painful that I felt like dying.
"Ava, how dare you ignore the prince!" My father bellowed, and great anger rushed through me as I darted my gaze at him.
"You are a monster! The most heartless being in this world, and I regret being your daughter. Why did you kill them because of Nana's lies. I swear with my life that I'll never forgive you! It's better you find a way to kill me now." I bawled in the agony, my voice cracking as I struggled to speak amidst my whimpers.
"How dare you!!!" He thundered and couldn't even hold back as his fingers transformed into claws as rage filled his eyes.
"You call me a monster when that is what you are. After killing my mate, you also planned to kill the Beta's daughter!" He snarled, and I chuckled in sadness.
"You should kill me, because if I ever get the chance to end your life, I will never hesitate!" I said, threateningly, as my heart filled with deep sorrow.
I was exhaling heavily as my gaze was drawn to the blood of my two new friends, knowing they were truly gone forever.
"Prince, I am respecting you. That is why I didn't pounce on this demon right here." He growled, and I moved my eyes to Jaden.
"He hasn't pounced on me yet because he respects your presence here. You will soon leave." I whined in fright, rubbing my eyes and sniffling as it became clear to me how much I'd be beaten tonight for saying those dangerous words to the alpha.
"Ava, do you think the Lycan prince cares about you a bit? He doesn't give a damn whether you are killed or not, so stop acting stupidly!" Nana burst in, irritatingly. Her voice showed how pissed off she was.
"I know he doesn't care about me. Who would care for a poor and rejected soul like me? My family didn't care about me. How would the Lycan prince care for me? That's why my father has to kill me, " I groan hopelessly, falling back to the ground.
"The easiest way to die is to kill yourself. That way, you will be relief from all this. No one can kill you except yourself." Nana scoffed.
"You are wrong." Jaden's voice came in at that moment, drawing everyone's attention to him.
