THE LYCAN'S DUEL Chapter 89

Lucius I was brought to a location in the woods after the rogues took me away, and I couldn't help but feel afraid about the entire situation. I could see the fear of the unknown in my eyes. I let out a little moan, my lips giving way. My body froze as I was pulled into what appeared to be more of a cave. I was immediately out of breath and dazed. With a shiver of terror running down my spine, I looked everywhere. I was looking back and forth, unsure of what to do. I closed my eyes and thought about what to do. I could feel myself wanting to try out my skills, but I knew that was a bad idea since every mistake I made might put me in danger. Instead, I should have waited for Freya to come help me. I was aware that I would have to wait for Freya to arrive calmly; if she doesn't show up within the next two days, I shall handle things on my own. I'll see to it that everything proceeds as smoothly as I've always desired. I stared at the wall of the cell I had been placed in. I could sense that something was off, so I knew that things would not turn out the way I had hoped. I was aware that the so-called Alpha Titus must have been put to the test by the chairman of the werewolf council. I was aware that he was trying to gauge whether or not he could trust him by looking at his expression. I was aware that his goal in playing games with him was to see whether there was anything more that he wanted. I was aware that he could not have possibly guessed anything. I was aware that this would all end quickly since I knew he would not want me to die lightly. Prior to that, he will want to allow Alpha Titus to arrive. I was aware that forcing Freya to follow the plan was the only way to apprehend him. Anything less than Freya showing up to save me exactly when I expected her to would not work. I was aware that no other course of action would be effective in this circumstance. I was aware that I would need to prepare for tomorrow. I was aware that it would not be as simple as I had imagined. I was starving to death while confined to the cell, and my stomach hurt. Although I knew it wasn't appropriate for me to feel hungry or anything else at this moment, I still do. My eyes were scowling, unsure of what action to take. Although I knew I ought to have been ready for this, I wasn't. There is a lot of wolfsbane in this room, which makes it difficult for me to sleep because it weakens me. I shuddered when I saw the silver used to construct the cell. I could only wait for Freya to start our plan, as I knew there was no way out of this area. I was sitting on the ground, trying to pay attention to my surroundings. I was aware that I should never overlook anything. I was aware of the potential risks involved in letting anything go unchecked. The sound of objects crashing against the building's walls suddenly reached my ears as I was engrossed in my thoughts and contemplating potential outcomes. My heart was racing with anxiety, and suddenly I felt my skin perspire. Though I'm not sure what was happening, I hope it's Freya's men that she informed me about. Before they could get in touch with Alpha Thorne, she informed me that her guys would break in here and silently kill every guard. I was aware that the males might not measure up to Freya, and I might be let down as a result. I was aware that they might have been spies or renegades. I held the cell door open and proceeded toward it, ignoring the scorching sensation that ran the length of my body. I made a concerted effort to stay on top of things while keeping an eye out to make sure everything was proceeding according to plan. "Alpha, are you alright?" One of the men whom Freya sent here answered a question I heard in her voice. I let go of the jail bars and exhaled a sigh of relief. "I'm doing OK. How are things doing overall?" "Hope there are no flaws in the plan." I asked, putting away my hunger pangs with an inquisitive expression on my face. This is more essential than that, I knew. "Everything is going as planned; you don't have to worry." I heard the man add, "My men are cleaning up the place so as not to leave any trails behind for it to not be spotted by the so-called alpha Thorne," and although I was relieved to hear that, my stomach began to churn and hurt again. I whispered, ashamed, "I'm hungry," and he smiled and took out a food flask from a bag that I hadn't noticed when he had first come in. "Here you go," he replied, grinning broadly as he gave me the flask. I had no questions as I consumed the food. I consumed the meal in a matter of minutes, gave him the flask when I was done, and drank some of the water he gave me as well. I handed him back the coffee glass, and he seemed to notice that my hands were burning. With a troubled expression on his face, he grasped the cage bars and gazed at me. The bars were loaded with wolfsbane, and he winced in agony. With a curious expression on his face, he removed his hands from the cell's bar and inquired, "Are you hurt?" I understood that what he'd just seen was probably what was scaring him. I murmured, "I'm fine," so as not to cause him further concern. Knowing that I have someone concerned about me makes me feel strange. I heard him add, "I will change the cell bars," and my eyes widened in shock. I was aware that if he altered it, it would be detrimental and would quickly expose me. I knew that as soon as Alpha Thorne arrived, he would sense something was wrong. I told him, "You don't have to do that; the alpha will know everything, and I won't want that," and he grinned. His expression gave me the impression that he knew how to get out of this. When I heard him add, "He would not feel anything of the sort; he will be wearing a glove when he comes tomorrow," I exhaled with relief. I told him, "You can go ahead with that," and he bent his head before heading out to get the cell bars changed. I'm glad that I knew they would finish it in a few hours instead of hours. If everyone did their share, I was certain that everything would go as planned. When they were finished, I grinned and looked around the space. They took care to ensure that no defects remained, and I appreciate their caution. I didn't want to die right away since I knew that any error would put me at serious risk. I was aware that there was still a great deal of work to be done on Freya. I understood that it would be premature for me to pass away without realizing any of my aspirations. The sunlight coming in through the cell room's little windows in the cellar caused me to wake up. I sat up straight and moaned; my head was throbbing so hard that I could not help but groan. It was obvious that Freya would arrive soon since I could feel her touch aching all over my body. I was aware that everything would be resolved after that. "Alpha, good morning. I heard the man's voice hand me a cup of water and a flask, saying, "Here is your food." I returned the man's drink after finishing the food. I knew that I would have to go through a trial, so I was waiting patiently. I had no doubt that Freya would also be present, as would the leader of the werewolf council. The men whispered to me, "The head of the werewolf council is here," since Freya had instructed them to wear disguises. The man said, "Look who we have here, if not the lycan prince," as soon as he walked in. I pretended to be surprised to see him, but when he said those words, I was taken aback.
