THE LYCAN'S DUEL Chapter 6

FREYA I frowned as I took a seat at the training ground. I was in shock at what had transpired. I was unaware that my body was overreacting to something. I'm concerned about something or someone whose name escapes me. I think I may have insulted someone, even if I didn't know them. In my entire life, I have never felt anything like this. I've never had this much concern or worry about someone or anything. It seems as though I have deeply hurt the individual. Anxiety was permeating every part of my body. I heard Seraphina exclaim, "Alpha, I'm here," and I smiled as I turned to face her. I was relieved she could come. I was hoping for a duel between the two of us. I hope she feels the same way I do—that is, to let off steam. I started to continue, "I called you here because..." when Seraphina interrupted. "You called me here because you want to have a duel with me, right?" I nodded in agreement as she hurriedly remarked, "Just like old times when you are confused and don't know what to do," grinning knowingly at me. She looked at me with a smile on her face as I added, "It's been a while since we last had a duel, and I must admit that I miss it." "What are you waiting for?" she questioned, her eagerness palpating as she fixed her gaze on me. She continued, "Let's get started," and I grinned and got up. She rolled her eyes at that. "Don't go easy on me because I won't," I added. "As if you can do anything to me," Seraphina glared at me as she lunged forward. I hit her in the stomach and sidestepped her approach. She sidestepped the blow, and I easily avoided her lunge at me with her knees. She lightly sprung up to avoid the sweeping kick I delivered while sliding across the ground. I reverted to my previous positions and gave her a menacing, glaring look. She lunged at me once more, but this time she faked a blow, which I ducked out of, and then she punched my stomach. With a mocking expression on her face, Seraphina replied, "Look who is talking about not going easy on me; you just got your butt whipped by me," and I grinned. I said, "I'm afraid to judge; let's just get started," and I hurried over to her. I performed a backflip and swung my hands and legs to strike her face, but she averted it just in time. My legs, however, slightly struck her nose. I screamed, "Enough of the small talk, Seraphina," and I raced for her, striking her in the body and swerving to the left and right. She resisted everything I tried to do to her, but she was unaware of what was coming. I kicked her in the face with a bicycle kick and then punched her in the same spot twice. I stopped right away and approached her with concern. There was blood leaking from the wound on her face. I didn't know what to do, so I worriedly glanced at her. Although I was aware that the wound would soon heal, I wasn't pleased with what had just occurred. Her eyes rolled as she wiped away the blood. "I'm sorry; I don't mean to hurt you," I replied. Even though the cut on her face had healed, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was shocked to discover that I had hurt my closest buddy, and all because of my fucking boyfriend, on whom I have been thinking. I directed the guards to take him to my mother so that he could get treated after the event in the cold room, but I haven't heard from her. This is probably because I've cut off everyone from the mind-link. Seraphina sat down on one of the training ground's stools and stated, "It's now healed, so you shouldn't think too much about it." We're in the evening now that practice has ended, so the entire space is empty. Even though I knew that nobody could enter this location at this time, I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that someone would unexpectedly drop in on us. Seraphina said, "We need to talk," and I sighed deeply before encouraging her to go on. She asked, her face inquisitive, "What have you done about your mate's issue?" Not a thing. Is it really necessary for me to push myself against him at this point? His affection for Selene, or whatever name she goes by, had been evident from the beginning. I had simply brought him here to see if his mind would change. You don't need to be concerned about him.I continued, gazing up at the sky, "I intended to send him back to his pack after a week or so. My face was plastered with a horrible smile. All I could do was speculate about what might come next. I've always wanted to accept my partner, and when I first saw him, I wanted to accept him as well. However, after seeing his behavior, I still wanted him in my life. He made me be who I was to other people in order to please him. I was ready to demonstrate my abilities to him, but he forced me to do so. I've never been antagonistic to any of my close relatives unless it was absolutely necessary, so I was furious to learn that he wasn't prepared to welcome me. I was drawn to him the instant I laid eyes on him and wanted to claim him as mine. He was in love with another lady, and he wanted me to reject him at all costs. I was hurt to learn that, and I knew that removing him from Selene was the only way to injure him. Even though I knew what I was doing was wrong, I don't give a damn about what other people think. Since I had made it my mission to compel him to endure the same pain and suffering that I had, I knew that I would not be able to free him. She remarked to me, "We both know that you aren't releasing him soon, and all I'll say to you is that you should be lenient toward him because you might end up killing your mate in the end," and she headed out of the training facility. After spending several minutes lost in contemplation, Seraphina suddenly ran in my direction. She said, "Alpha, you need to come see this," in a voice that sounded unsure. "What is the problem?" She sighed impatiently as I asked with a furrowed brow. When she said, "It's Lucius," my heart stopped pounding. After a while, I could feel my heart pounding hard and quickly. My own heartbeat was audible to me. Suddenly, I could feel every part of my body starting to perspire. I experienced a rush of emotions and a brief feeling of coldness, but it passed quickly. I could sense my heart's blood pumping through it. "What happened to him?" I inquired, standing up and fixing her with a worried expression on my face. I interrupted her while she was saying, "He is..." "What happened to him?" Is he doing okay? I said, "Tell me, Seraphina," and she groaned loudly, twitching her fingers. Her words, "He is sick, and your mom said she can't say if he will be able to survive it," stunned me so much that I just gazed at her, my expression filled with amazement. I was shocked by what she had just said. Even though I understood that tossing him into the chilly room was cruel and evil, I was so furious that I gave the order to do so and also allowed him to remain there for an excessive amount of time. At the moment, I was just concerned with making him pay for attempting to flee; therefore, I didn't consider the potential damage that could be done to his BDUS system. My mother worked at a hospital, so I ran in that direction. It was her that I brought Lucius to. I hurried into the ward and saw my nurse tending to him. "Mom, is he going to be okay?" My mother merely scowled at me furiously when I asked her. "You are asking such a question when you are the one responsible for this." My mother remarked, "I don't think this is the person I raised you up to be," and I sent her an angry look. It was unbelievable to me that she would say something like this. That she didn't trust me shocked me. She was aware that I couldn't harm him without a good reason. "Do you actually think that I'll keep quiet after what you just said?" I glared at my mother and yelled, "You don't know anything about what just happened, and you are judging me already."
