James Brown immediately accepted the proposal because he in needs of money right now.
He can't go to Bobby Jane for help because he already takes so much money in exchange for Emily and even promises to gives Emily again to him to get more money from him. And because of Emily's beauty, he was completely blind and gives him more money whenever he asked.
But now if he goes to him and asked for help he surely kills him only because of that little girl because first she ran away from his claws and now he didn't know she will come or not.
