The Legendary Programming Mage Chapter 54

I fucking hate school. Having to sit for hours, listen to someone yapping for hours, and at the end of it all you only get one or two words. A loud sigh left my lips; it was a heavy, long sigh as some might say. The first few days of classes were absolute torture, at least until I got used to it. Magic classes upon magic classes — the only other thing we learned was rift survival, and even that was taught by an old teacher who could barely stay awake. During that time a lot of students had started learning Flashstep. And just like Mirabel had said, I wasn’t allowed to learn it. Even if I wanted to in secret, there were just too many eyes on me. Beatrice had, of course, gone to complain, but Professor Mirabel had used the excuse that I was the Apex and the best of the best to get past her. "I hope a truck flies up here and slams into the Dean without any reincarnation." "I totally agree with that." "Hmm..." I stared at Beatrice, who just looked at me. "You agree?" She looked away. "She was the one who made me convince you to create that whole persona; now she stabs us in the back." ’I’m pretty sure I was the only one who got stabbed.’ Yet, I nodded. "Yeah, let a massive truck hit her, and she’ll be forced to hear the rift professor’s lectures for the rest of eternity." Beatrice almost chuckled. These days, I had noticed that she had been showing a lot more emotion than before. At least she was trying to. Smiling when it called for it, trying to grin, or cheering someone up. This was usually our spot. A small garden at the back of the second-year class building. It was usually empty, and also close to the railing that led outside the floating island. The main reason we started coming here was for lessons. However, during the twelve days I have been in Apex, this place has turned into our discussion zone. Sometimes she didn’t even come in exercise clothes, but casual night clothes and we just talked; sometimes I taught her about the world and how to be cool. But today we had a different agenda. It was finally time for me to learn it. Beatrice turned to face me. She was dressed in scrunch shorts and a large black hoodie — technically it was my hoodie that she borrowed, but the cloth was still a little— My thoughts were broken by her voice. Beatrice paused; a pair of gloves in her hand, then she wore only one and showed me the other. Beatrice paused for another moment, shutting her eyes as if trying to remember something. Then she put on the other glove while moving closer to me. Once they were on, she used her teeth to drag the edge so it would sit completely. "Let’s start training." She let a small smile form on her face. "How was that? I did it right, right?" She actually remembered the random things I was talking about yesterday. I had told her that using your teeth to drag in your glove was cool, but she actually did it? I tried to hold back my laugh, but it slipped out. It was low at first, but soon exploded into a long, hard laugh. "That was so funny. What the hell? Were you trying to be cool so badly?" Beatrice clicked her tongue. "This is why I don’t do such childish things." I wiped the tears from the corner of my eye. "Sorry, it was just hilarious." For a moment I swore I saw her pout. "Being with a clown like you is rubbing off on me badly." I let out an exhale. "Enough of that — can you train me?" She sighed. "As the protagonist, shouldn’t you have some OP learning comprehension?" ’I don’t want to hear that from the real MC of this world.’ Beatrice moved to where I stood and placed her hand on my chest. "You have very good mana control..." She took a long pause as beads of sweat formed on her temples. "Mhmm..." She shook her head. "I can’t see beyond a certain point. What did you do to yourself?" I looked away from her. "Something." She tilted her head so she could look into my eyes. "You won’t tell even me?" I can’t tell you that I’m a transmigrator, now can I? Beatrice nodded. "I understand; if you don’t feel like saying it, then don’t." She let the words linger before continuing. "However..." "Don’t you dare tell someone before me." Just like every other secret I kept from her. ’You can keep a secret, as long as no one else knows. And if you want to tell someone, I have to be first.’ Those were her exact words. I nodded. "I will tell you first, when the time is right." Moving away from my chest, she stretched lazily while yawning. "Why don’t we get started?" I shifted a step away. "Okay." During my free time yesterday I had read different books on Flashstep, so I knew it to a certain extent. Just like lightning affinity’s blink, light affinity’s teleportation and my red flash’s distortion, Flashstep had to do with taking yourself from one place to another by enveloping your body with mana — basically becoming mana itself. That was why mana control was so important. I wasn’t an impeccable genius or some OP protagonist, so I couldn’t try to learn it alone. Besides, why would I try harder when I had a gorgeous master who would help me. ’What am I even thinking?’ However, I did trust her. Find the newest release on novel(ꜰ)ire.net It wasn’t a normal type of trust; even I knew that. It was unnatural, like I wasn’t someone who would trust someone so much after only less than three weeks of meeting. But I just felt that with Beatrice nothing could happen. Perhaps it was her charm as a protagonist. "Now Allen, envelope mana through your body..." I took a step forward and began dashing. Just like the technique she had taught me. I took a leap into the air as Beatrice’s voice rang out again. "Don’t lose focus, just put it on like you would put a rubber on your manhood." Yes, like I put a rubber on my... The moment her words replayed in my head, my mana control became a mess and I fell to the floor. Beatrice shook her head. "I’m disappointed, Allen; you shouldn’t get distracted with words. What if your opponent told you about..." I raised my hand. "Stop!" I exhaled. "Why the hell did you say something like that?!" She shrugged, shaking her head. "I was just giving you a training no other person would." She tapped her temple. "A stable mind." I held in my rage as the veins on my head literally bulged out. "Will you change the methods if I tell you so?" She shook her head. "No, you’re my masterpiece, and I won’t teach you any other way." I sighed, standing back to my feet. "Okay then, let our perverted classes begin."
