Since it was the weekend, Martha didn’t have to work, which was good because she would probably wake up late in the afternoon.
Kai would have felt bad if she hadn’t gone to work because of him. But thankfully, that wouldn’t be the case. He got ready, putting on his hunting gear, and headed out.
Entering the Hunter’s Guild, he approached the hunting board. To prevent illegal and overhunting, a hunter was required to get a permit confirmation that stated they could hunt in that region for a limited amount of time.
There was no rank system for hunters, and they simply operated from experience. This was because the threat of wild animals paled in comparison to monsters. However, the board was still organized according to threat level. Green to yellow to orange to red. Easiest hunt to hardest hunt.
He picked a green hunt, not because he was scared, but because he needed experience, and left to go on his hunt.
"Excuse me, sir, are you taking this carriage on your way to the Horned Rabbit Plains?" Kai asked a coachman who was about to leave with a few passengers.
"Yeah, kid. Hop on. That will be three copper for the fair." The coachman replied.
"Here." Kai handed the man three copper coins and jumped in the carriage, greeting the other passengers as he sat down.
