Hearing that Zephyr looked confused at Omadi, before he gestured for him to take a walk so he can say what it is he wanted to say, At the same time, a signal was sent to Ikem who immediately made his way out of the palace to get to where Zephyr was.
"What is it you wanted to talk about Omadi, haven’t you been treated well these last few weeks" Zephyr asked, still acting oblivious.
Omadi certainly didn’t pick up on that, as he waved his hand nervously before he took a look at the robe he was wearing "We have been treated well your highness, but that is exactly why we need to talk"
"Go ahead, I’m listening" Zephyr said while walking.
"Your treatment of us the last week has made us feel good at the same time a lot of guilt as we have people important to us that have been left behind, we don’t exactly know how they are to be treated by Osita" Omadi said with his head bowed in shame.
Zephyr heard a voice in his ear, so he looked toward Omadi "Tell me about this Osita you just brought up"
Omadi stayed silent for a bit, "I don’t know where to begin but your highness I have a weird question?" Omadi said, causing Zephyr to stop walking as he regarded Omadi.
"What is your question?" Zephyr asked intrigued.
Omadi looked like he was trying to visually show the words in his mind as he began randomly gesturing before saying "Have your people, your highness ever seen undergo a rapid change under one day of not seeing them?"
Zephyr did not answer the question but replied with his own question, "You are saying that this Osita is completely different from the Osita you knew" Zephyr asked.
"Exactly your highness, he was the head hunter of our village and i was the village head at the time so we both had the most powerful position among our people and we both have spend time with each other discussing on ways to make our people lives better so i can proudly say I know him better than anyone would"
"But one day, he woke completely changed, still the same voice and looks but his eyes tell a different story. Osita wasn’t someone who likes to think or use his brain but one day Osita suddenly started playing mind games, quickly earning him the praise of the village people and me falling from my position"
Ikem, who had already caught up by this time, was listening in on what Omadi was saying. At the same time his last discussion with Red started surfacing in his mind "Could this Osita be one of supposed enemies that might have gotten into our world"
Whispering To Zephyr ear, who showed no outward reaction as he asked Omadi "This change you talk about, when did you notice it and how did it start" Zephyr asked as they continued their walk.
"Your highness, I am sure your people also experienced the rain of fire and the treasures it came with, Osita was the one in charge of gathering the treasure that fell in our village. At the time i was busy calming my disturbed people down so i paid no attention to Osita and his men behaviors "
"While I paid them no attention, I have also asked myself what caused his change and the only answer and place I could point to was that maybe something evil from the sky has taken hold of him" Omadi said with fear in his voice.
"Would you say that it was his armor that caused a change in him?" Zephyr asked.
"Armor?" Omadi asked, confused.
"Forgive me, I meant to ask if he always had an armor on after his behavior changed" Zephyr asked as he brushed off his mistake in words.
Omadi still had a confused look on his face, "No he had no armor on, or rather i have never seen him with an armor before, only thing that changed was how his height got bigger and the strength he showed was vastly different from how it was before"
"I pity Osita’s wife and his kid" Omadi said right after causing Zephyr to almost jolt but he still maintained his composure.
"Osita has a wife and a kid?" Zephyr asked with confusion clear in his voice.
"Yes, he doesn’t have a kid yet but his wife is most certainly pregnant"Omadi responded.
"Do you think the wife has noticed the change in Osita or not?" Zephyr asked as the sound of water caught his attention as he subtly diverted his position towards the sound.
"She should have noticed before me, but..." Omadi stopped as he hesitated.
"I know i just said that i felt sorry for her and the unborn kid your highness, but i then remembered the treatment she has been receiving since Osita change in behavior has been better, she now has multiple women catering to her, she is been dressed well and fed well becoming one of the most beautiful woman in our village" Omadi answered.
"If that is so then it contradicts your words on how extreme Osita change has been" Zephyr said but Omadi started laughing out loud.
It took a while before he calmed down, "On the contrary, it is quite the opposite your highness. I have said before that i know Osita more than anyone which is why the Osita i know would have never in his life cater to a woman the way the current Osita does"
"He loved his wife and did his best to take care of her and met her needs but that was it your highness, he never bothered to do more than that like the current Osita, so yes she most certainly know of his change but I think his new charming personality has gotten to her just like it got to everyone in the village" Omadi said as he shook his head in regret.
"I see" Zephyr said as he nodded, "You have given my people much to think about on, i am grateful for you sharing your story"
"It’s the least I can do after your great treatment to me and my people"Omadi said but then a look of hesitation came upon his face which Ikem picked up on.
"What is it, new friend?" Zephyr asked.
Omadi still hesitated but he finally spoke up, "Why are we so far away from your people, your highness. My family have been looking forward to meet the furred men of the legend spread among us humans"
Zephyr stayed silent at that before solemnly speaking, "My friend, that is because the time for our races to meet haven’t yet come and you humans haven’t quite left a good impression to my people yet"
Omadi hearing that looked shocked as he looked at Zephyr, "What do you mean your highness, have any of the humans been a bother to your people" Omadi asked confused.
Zephyr shook his head, "It is not about what you have done to our people, but about what you all have been doing to yourselves"
Omadi still had a confused expression on his face, so Zephyr decided to show him an example "Take for example, the rain of fire and the treasures that came with it, have you seen any dead body or conflict of my people over the treasure?" Zephyr asked.
Omadi stayed silent for a while before responding "No"
"You haven’t but my people have seen too many of your own dead bodies, some even took it upon themselves to bury the body. Now if you can do that to your own people what stops you from doing the same to us"
"This was one of the reason we found it needed to interfere with you humans, as if left unsupervised you all will off yourselves and then turn your attention to us, so now tell Omadi with this impression do you think it would be right for me to present you to my people" Zephyr said.
Hearing Zephyr’s words brought shame to Omadi’s face and heart, he can’t disagree with what was said as he himself knew that if the Osita incident never had happened, he would also have his own people armed, ready to conquer and gain more land and material for his people.
So all he could say in return was "I understand your highness"
Tapping his shoulders, Zephyr said "Head back own your own Omadi, I need a moment of silence with my own thoughts" Omadi hearing the words bowed as he went back to where they came from.
Meanwhile Zephyr continued on his way to the sound of water and soon in front of him appeared a waterfall, looking at the view from atop the waterfall Zephyr couldn’t help but appreciate the beauty of nature.
"You didn’t have to say all that at the end" all of a sudden a familiar voice spoke from right beside him.
Smiling and looking at his father, Zephyr only responded "It felt compelling to answer that way courtesy to my new role" Laughing Ikem ruffled Zephyr’s head.
