Chapter 1382: Chapter 82: The Fosterers of Canaan
A few days later, by the Nile River in Egypt.
Under the guidance of several Jewish Elders, Luo En passed through the entrance hidden by weeds and entered a Temple built into the mountainside.
The Temple was dim and dilapidated, with hundreds of statues of various shapes placed on low stone pedestals.

“Moses, have you repented?”
“Yes, Your Excellency. After this trial, I have come to understand my mission. Henceforth, I pledge to follow the Divine Revelation of the gods and lead our people out of the land of slavery, freeing them from oppression and returning them to their homeland.”
Luo En answered, his attitude respectful and humble.
The Canaan Gods nodded in satisfaction and immediately urged:
“Then quickly gather the manpower and take us out of this ghostly place!”
Compared to the newly enslaved Canaanites, these foreign deities had a much tougher existence.
Since humans are short-lived and widely existing consumables, they can be reshaped in faith and culture, integrating into Egypt and becoming followers of the Egyptian Gods, providing them with devotion and offerings.
Thus, the Canaanites received favor and thrived.
But the cake of faith is only so big, if you take an extra bite, someone else must give up one.
After leaving their homeland, the Canaan Gods lost their roots and needed human faith more than ever to sustain their Divine Power and Authority.
Yet, as the community of Egyptian Gods grew and expanded, their internal Divine Authority and offices were scarce, even for their own kind, naturally they’d be unwilling to easily allow a group of foreign Canaan deities to come and seize resources.
Thus, the Canaan Gods have been relentlessly marginalized and suppressed since their arrival in Egypt, their status plummeting, with their Divine Power and Authority steadily waning.
For a long time now, they will inevitably become fodder for the Egyptian Gods or be eternally enslaved without any chance of recovery.
Aware of this dreadful future, the discontented Canaan Gods began to incite their Canaan subordinates to band together and create chaos.
Those Canaanites did not disappoint the gods, they fully utilized their racial talent for mischief and betrayal, ultimately becoming loathed and despised.
Now, they have fallen out with the Egyptians, inevitably thinking of leaving Egypt and returning to Canaan.
And this outcome is precisely what the Canaan Gods desire to see.
The next step is to have these Canaanites carry the statues containing their divinity and divinity back to their homeland, allowing them to restore their Divine Power and Authority and be free once more.
However, Luo En shook his head, extinguishing the Canaan Gods’ fantasies with his words:
“I’m afraid that won’t work, since the Egyptian Gods are no mere decorations. If it’s just ordinary humans returning home, they might pay no heed. But if you deities join the escape, they will definitely not sit idly by.”
The Canaan Gods darkened their expressions upon hearing this.

Compared to insignificant humans, the targets of the deities are far too conspicuous.

Their Origin God, Yi Le, has perished; Prince Baal and Princess Anat have turned to dust. Without the interference from any Stronger figures in their tribe, such a large commotion cannot be hidden from the Egyptian Gods’ eyes.

The slightly dejected Canaan Gods brightened their eyes collectively and looked toward Luo En below the altar.

“You could collaborate to craft a Holy Cabinet that isolates consciousness, and then make a covenant with humans, instructing them to not mention the names of the Pantheon of Gods on their escape, but to only worship the One Heavenly Father—Yi Le! Trading, city founding, escaping slavery, returning home… all these will be done in adherence to His ancient command.”
“What good will that do?”
“Upon your departure day, you could hide within the Holy Cabinet, and with the triple protection of humans, the Holy Covenant, and the Holy Cabinet, you could very likely return to your homeland safely.”
The Canaan Gods listened, smiling with delight.
Firstly, this could absolve them of the blame for instigating Canaanites to commit evil and rebel, sparing them from post-factum reckoning;
Secondly, with this triple safeguard in place, as long as they refrain from easily utilizing Divine Authority and exposing their whereabouts along the route, they could flee Egypt unnoticed and undetected.
The worst that could happen is that their erstwhile Origin God Yi Le is unfairly slandered, or the Canaanites fleeing might suffer a bit more hardship.
But regarding this, the gods are completely unburdened psychologically.
After all, they’ve been reduced to this state entirely due to that incompetent old bull and the unbelieving Canaanites.
However, what they do not know is that Yi Le, besides being the name for “god” in Northwest Semitic languages and revered as the Pantheon of Gods ruler and ancestor of humanity and all created beings in Canaanite and Levantine religions, is also another name for the Heavenly Lord.
In the Old Testament, titles related to the Heavenly Lord like El Elyon (Most High God), El Shaddai (Almighty God) are derived from Yi Le’s lexical roots, and Hebrew terms like Elohim and Yahweh are also associated with this.
Therefore, with some clever manipulation of the covenant and obtaining the full consent of all Canaan deities, Luo En could subtly and imperceptibly seize everything originally belonging to Yi Le.
Indeed, the dead are more useful than the living.
