Chapter 465: Chapter 465 – The Secula Matter [ Part 2 ]
“Father, since you had already came here before, I assume you somewhat of me? That I have a Crys Cave right around here.”
“It’s alright, its humanities curiosity that will take it to untold boundaries, getting curious is no crime.” I say as the guy smiled, “But such curiosity could also be trouble for others.”
“Like for the gang who is terrorizing my land.” I sigh, “A notorious gang had placed its beady eyes at my crys cave a few months ago and started attacking it.”
“First it was a few carts carrying food or other unnecessary items that were robbed away by them. Then as soon as they learned of my preferred route and time, they attacked on the convoys with the crystals.”
I haven’t said the connection between them and the village but still the Bishop listened with attention.
“It took some time and resources before we were able to repel the attacks and I felt hopeful. But I knew that if I didn’t push back and driven those bastards ou-… oh! my apologies, father.”
“It’s alright, son, please continue.” The Bishop said.
“Well, I fought back and continued on as the battle took weeks before I learned of an interesting thing. That there was a small village somewhere around that was being terrorized by those evil beings as well.”
“The problems at my side had lessened a bit so I thought that I might lend a hand.” I take a pause, “But father… it was already too late.”
The Bishop’s face knitted as he waited to hear the rest.
“We went there… in the morning, right around noon I think.” I act of making a guess, “When I arrived at Secula, I saw that it was a small village, almost nothing of worth there.”
“But that was very wrong… the situation there was for worse.”
The Bishop’s face was full of attention but calm, enough to say he had patience to not cut out my drama.
“Secula… was already taken.”
“What?” He asked, “Taken… by whom?”
“Those gangs, father.” I explain, “They had seized control of the village.”
“What!” He stood up in shock, “Impossible! I had checked on it back a few months.”
“Yes, I know of that… but the gang also knew that.” Hearing it, the Bishop slowly sat down, “They carefully timed your exit and forced their way in before taking hold of the place.”
“It wasn’t obvious until I started noticing a few things. The place was quiet… too quiet even for a small village. There was hardly any residence on the streets and those that were, they looked quite suspicious.”
“When I arrived, the place was silent to a pin drop. Even the village chief didn’t seem okay and wanted to get rid of me as soon as possible.”
“The Chief… may I ask how he looked like?” The Bishop asked, wanting to confirm something.
“I think… he had brown complexion, small, old age obviously and had a cane with which he supported himself… I should have known right then father, the chief had a strained smile on him that didn’t seem real.”
“It’s alright, son. We cannot have a hold of everything, that is life.”
I nod, “Where was I?… yes, it was too suspicious and I didn’t have enough men to conduct a search without my own protection being provoked, so I left.”
“Coming back home, I planned another course for the village and prepared my best men. But by the time I came… all of it was gone already.”
“Hm… can you elaborate?”
“Fire, father… flaming homes and charred bodies.” I say for dramatic effect, “We came by nightfall and everything was burning by then.”
“Burning… do you mean they burned down the village?!” The Bishop asked with shock.
I don’t confirm it, “It seems the gang knew I was certain so they tried to get rid of the villagers… if I was early, father… just a few hours, maybe I would have been able to save them.”
The Bishop got up and sat beside me as he patted my shoulders, “What you did was a brave thing, child. Yes… ultimately it didn’t work, but nonetheless you tried. That’s all the Ever Loving Goddess asks, the end results matter not.”

“There’s still more?” He asked, bewildered.
“Yes, after a few days after that event, the gang gained courage and attacked my home, here.” The Bishop’s eyes widened, “It seems they learned of the big sigmat deal there was and the lack of security and took advantage of it.”
“They attacked with great force and used the stolen crystals to buy some sigmat rings. They were quite ready and was very close to destroying everything I held dear.”
“Many places were destroyed that night; the construction work you see is the cause of that night.”
The Bishop nods, “That must have been devastating.”
“Not as devastating as when I learned that one of the villagers was actually in the gang.”
“What?!” The Bishop was surprised once more.
“Yes and not only just a member but a core one with its own group consisting of members from Secula. It was such an astonishing think to see that people would destroy their closest friends for money.”
“Ca- Can you tell me who it was, the name of that person leading the group?”
“I think it was Karna, Krasanta or was it…”
“Yes! It was Katherna!”
“Im- Impossible! I know her… she wouldn’t… she couldn’t do something like that.” The Bishop stammered.

“I captured one of the members, she is- was from Secula.”
The Bishop’s eyes shone light, “Is that so. May I ask you to show her?”
“Of course.” With that we stood up and walked out to one of the security buildings.
The Bishop’s eyes wondered to the systematic work and mostly on the Wolfmen, but he contained his questions.
We arrived before the holding room as I stop, “It may be a bit disturbing father, prepare yourself.”
I opened the door and instantly a scent of rot and putrid smell hit us. The Bishop’s brow knitted as he covered his nose with the long robes around his hand.
But this was just the watching chamber, the chamber itself was closed off by a long steel door. The soldiers following us, open it and I feel burst of excitement course through me as I see the Bishop’s beyond shocked look at the sight of Keny.
The bitch herself was still kicking, her twin tail gone and head bald. Eyes smeared with tears long smudged. Body without strength after countless torture.
Yet her soulless eyes showed light as she saw the Bishop, “Father”
“Keny… how could you do this?”
“Fat- Father… what are you saying… what did I do?” She looked at him with hope, wanting to grab onto him for help, “Why are you here… with him?”
Before she could say anything, extensive I push in, “Enough! Stop with your nonsense, wretched villain. Tell the father your crimes, tell him how you attacked my convoys, burned your village and then had the audacity to attack my home.”
Keny looked at me, her eyes once defined, now fear stricken, “N- No… I didn’t. It wasn’t my fault… Katherna… Sh- She’s the one who wanted to-”
That was all I needed.
To think she would place it in a silver platter, just for me.
