Chapter 54
"I started investing when I was young and it has cushioned my pockets ever since.“
"Now, how would you respond to a dance?“ I like to stir things up when I'm bored, so how about we make your man jealous? "I'm sure Derrick Anderson won't enjoy me touching you.“ A feeling of terror shot through me and he winked. Before I could even agree, he laid down his glass and grabbed my hand, dragging me toward the dance floor.
His intentions were not as altruistic as I had thought.
"Why are you so eager to piss him off?“ " His hand landed at my waist and his fingers curled up my back, touching my shoulder blades. I scowled. I followed him around, placing my hands on his shoulders.
"Just a healthy bit of rivalry.“ I sensed there was a lot more to the story than what he said, but he talked me out of it before I could inquire.
I turned and met Derrick's angry look, his features twisted. He was staring at me, not giving Cindy Julius any attention, and for a split second, I felt bad about what I was doing.
He ought to have been the one holding me in this position and dancing with me, but I had made all of these mistakes again.
Collins said, "He's on the move quicker than I thought“, as he drew me back to him and I nearly touched his chest while holding my breath.
Collins had a little smile on his face, as though nothing could ever take him down.
I sensed his dark presence all about me, so I was on edge, waiting for him to arrive. Derrick grabbed me and dragged me behind him, and I felt the anger I had sparked in him trembling through my actions. My arms went from Collins. Collins smiled at the territorial play, drawing attention to themselves both.
"Derrick! What a coincidence that you should be here. "Your little date and I were just having a nice dance, and she seemed to be enjoying my touches.“ With a haughty sigh, I let out a breath as panic shot through me. Collins was far more unpredictable than I had imagined, so this was worse than the strategy I had mentally devised.
There was a standoff between two dominant males: One of them was a man and the other a monster.
"Fuck off, Collins.“ Throughout, Derrick's speech sounded rude and harsh. When it came to me, he didn't mess about with manners. His fists were clenched at his sides, trying to keep his wolf from provoking its aggression.
This is a misunderstanding.“ He turned to face me, as I made the decision to cut in, the tension between us tightening as steel.
With a bold expression on his face, he seemed to be waiting for me to provoke him more, while his hand remained tightly wrapped around my wrist. His mouth tightened into a fist, and his eyes became less blue, warning me of what lay ahead.
"A misunderstanding?“ "Is that what you want to call it?“ He said in shock. I moved slightly away from him; his annoyance was pressing on my bones and his resentment was pressing up against my ribs. I was going to suffer the price for my hasty judgment because I hadn't given his rage any attention previously.
There was a sick part of me that enjoyed his fits of rage. The pressure it was taking on him not to put me in my place, the needlework of his students, the struggle to keep his beast at bay.
Derrick was ready for it, but I asked Collins to dance while you were distracted. My bratty side came out with abandon and no regret.
Before I could finish speaking, he grabbed me and tossed me over his shoulder, directly in front of the opulent audience of millionaires. His hands were firmly on me as I fought to free myself from him, dangling over him and feeling the blood rush to my head. I carefully positioned my hand against my knees to prevent them from kicking out, and I placed the other hand firmly on my ass.
"What are you doing?“ He started to move, and I yelled in terror, all common reasons going out the window. I wanted to shout at him and beat him like a crazy woman, but instead I just watched in disbelief as everyone stepped aside to make room for us, staring at my massive companion as he made his way through the throng.
"Teaching you a lesson.“ With a decisive reply, he led me down an empty passage and out of the ballroom.
My heart was racing wildly in my chest, throbbing in time with his irate footsteps. I fixed my gaze on his back and the curvature of his posterior. I had allowed him to manipulate me so simply and without much resistance. The matebond was flashing me with two tones of horniness, and my core was pulsating with my yearning for him.
I bit my tongue and suppressed my groans as his body bounced off mine while he moved. He lowered me to the floor, closed the door, and then pushed me up against the back of the room when he had finally chosen one.
I was imprisoned in his clutches, and I was about to suffer punishment.
When my back struck the harsh wood, I moaned, but that wasn't the end of his rough treatment. With his knee pressed into the gap between my thighs, he pinned my hands at the top of my head and growled like a savage. I was squirming beneath his envious stare as his fangs pricked across his lips.
His closeness was scorching me from the inside out, his nostrils blazing and his chest heaving. It would never have happened this way, if only he had completed the tasks he needed to undertake in that limousine.
"I don't know whether I should turn you against this door and fuck you until everyone at the party hears you scream my name, or if I should spank your ass until it's fucking red for the stunt you just pulled.“ His body pressed up against mine, and I tightened my jaw. I really wanted what he had said, since it was all so hot.
"You started it.“ My speech was stifled by his declaration, and I prayed he wouldn't force me to make a decision because I struggled with it.
"Yes, I did. How could I have done that? I closed my eyes, laid my head against the door behind me, and let the sensation take hold of me as he moved his knee slightly, applying pressure closer to my core.“ For a few moment, all I could feel was white-hot lust.
