Arin's eyes snapped open as he glanced around. He had exited the Mana Space and was now in his room.
As expected, it was already morning, and it was almost time for classes to begin.
Arin dashed into the bathroom, pushing the door open with force.
'Shit, it's almost time... And Roxanne didn't tap me?'
He quickly realized what he had just thought.
'Ugh, what the hell? Since when did I start relying on Roxanne to tap me?'
He quickly freshened up, making sure he was as fast as possible.
All the students in Riya's class knew that entering the class late wouldn't be taken lightly by her, so all of them had made sure that they were always early to class.
Because of that, the punishment for coming late had never been known by any of them, but well, it seemed Arin would be the first to find out.
'Yes, we're kind of working together in a way, but that doesn't guarantee that she will spare me,' Arin thought.
Riya could still punish him full-time.
He quickly exited the bathroom, but his eyes darted toward the bed, where he saw Roxanne lying there... sleeping.
A frown instantly formed on his face. "Wait... She's sleeping? How is that even possible?"
"Tch... Just go, I'll explain on the way," Seraphine said. "Don't even try waking her up."
Arin didn't know what was going on, but at least he knew that she was alive.
Without wasting any more time, he dashed out of the room. He didn't even bother to let Seraphine out.
Immediately after exiting the dorm building, he noticed that there were no students outside, further making him tense.
But at least, because there was no one who would see him, he could run at almost full speed.
'I just hope she's not in class yet...'
He instantly began running toward the Main Academy building, the wind whizzing past his face with force.
He arrived in front of the building, twisting his body and heading straight inside before running up the stairs toward the hallway.
As soon as he reached the hallway, his eyes found his class, but that was not all.
Riya was also heading toward the class, only a few steps away from reaching it.
At this point, Arin had to lock in.
He dashed forward at full speed, passing the classes in the blink of an eye.
The students inside only felt a gust of wind but didn't see who passed.
By this time, Riya's right foot was already hovering just above the entrance of the class.
'Just a little bit closer...'
Arin stretched his leg forward as far as he could, and then...
He stepped in front of Riya, blocking her from entering the class.
Without even turning back to look at her, he walked into the classroom, ignoring the curious stares of the students and the questioning look of Leon.
He quickly sat down as Riya entered the class, her gaze fixated on Arin.
She stared at him for a few seconds, but he actively ignored her.
'I barely made it...'
Arin was standing among all the students who had formed a circle in the training space.
The cheers of the students were loud, but Arin was already spacing out as usual, even with the noise.
After barely arriving before Riya in class yesterday, the third round of the competition had begun.
'Tessa is definitely taking one of the three remaining spots,' he thought, remembering how she flawlessly won her fight yesterday.
He also noticed that she didn't fight too similarly to the way she fought when they were battling Alex.
'It seems that apart from her fighting style, she has also made two different versions of the way she attacks. One for normal fights , and another when fighting Alex.'
Arin was genuinely amazed by this. After all, it wasn't easy to create a second version of how you usually attacked.
'It wouldn't be an overstatement to say she's a genius.'
As usual, his name hadn't been called on the first day, something he had noticed by now.
When he arrived at his room yesterday, he still found Roxanne sleeping, which was very strange. First of all, Vampires don't sleep—or at least, that's what he knew—and secondly, she had been asleep for almost six hours.
At least he wasn't left confused, because Seraphine explained what was happening to him.
According to Seraphine, Roxanne was sleeping because her Vampire Rank had increased.
'So when a Vampire who isn't a Progenitor ranks up, they fall asleep for a few hours,' Arin thought.
'I'm discovering even more perks of being a Progenitor.'
He glanced down at his wrist where the bracelet was present. 'At least she's awake now.'
He watched Hector's fight, which was almost over, observing how he utilized the Water Element in a unique way.
'Wait... Isn't that the trick I used to win against that girl?' Arin thought as he watched Hector summon a Water Bubble around the boy who thought he would be able to strike Hector while he was landing.
Hector stepped on the roof of the Water Bubble and jumped down before deactivating it quickly and pointing his sword at the boy's neck.
"Winner, Hector Goldentime!"
Hector smiled as he walked back to join the students. Though, he glanced at Arin and winked before disappearing into the crowd.
'Hmm, bro just casually copied my trick,' Arin thought.
This just made him remember that he was yet to meet Riya for the tips on Water Element Spells.
"I guess that'll have to wait till tomorrow..."
Arin stretched his arms, preparing himself, because he had a feeling that his name would be called next.
"Arin Vale versus..."
Arin stepped out with furrowed brows, wondering why the second name wasn't called yet.
The teacher had a confused expression on his face. He quickly walked toward Orion, showing him something on the paper.
Orion muttered a few words to the teacher, and he nodded before walking toward the middle again.
"Arin Vale versus Lina Vale!"
