The Extra Seeks Chaos Chapter 184

'No matter what you do, I'll still win... easily.' Immediately, the girl changed the trajectory of the Spikes. They both continued dashing towards each other. 'She's fast,' Arin thought, noticing that the girl's legs weren't even touching the ground. It was almost as if the wind was propelling her toward him. In a swift motion, she began slashing her daggers, forming multiple wind slashes. The wind slashes instantly moved towards Arin with great speed. In an instant, a Water Shield formed on his left hand as he began blocking the Wind Slashes. This was the same strategy he used in the last fight. 'This is a reminder that I have to start creating new Spells... Both for the Water Element and the Chaos Element.' Among the barrage of wind slashes, a few managed to get past his shield and scratch his skin. It wasn't like he couldn't use his enhanced speed to effectively block all the slashes, but it would certainly be out of place, so he allowed a few to hit his arms. He also stopped his natural healing capabilities as a Vampire. The moment he got closer to the girl, he increased his speed slightly and slid to the right, arriving beside her. Without wasting time, he swung his sword towards her. Though, the girl had a quick reaction speed. She instantly swung her daggers, intending to block Arin's incoming strike. Their weapons collided, but Arin's strike had more force than hers, so she stumbled backward. "Tch..." The girl frowned and clicked her tongue. Taking the opportunity, Arin lunged forward with his sword outstretched. This time, the girl didn't allow Arin to come close to her. She instantly clapped her hands, summoning a wild gust of wind that pushed both her and Arin backward. The force of the wind pushed Arin back as he spun in the air and landed smoothly. Before he even landed, he had already created Water Spikes and Water Balls that were now rushing towards the girl, who had also just landed. Instantly, the girl slammed her hand on the ground, and the wind suddenly seemed to halt. Arin's attacks also stopped mid-air, but that wasn't all. The pace of the wind suddenly increased, and the Water attacks turned and began heading toward Arin. Arin began deactivating his Spells as he dashed towards her. All the Water Spikes and Water Balls began disappearing except one Water Spike. Before Arin reached her, he leaped up, grabbing the Water Spike that was in the air. He instantly launched the Water Spike toward the girl, though the other students were wondering why he did that when he already knew that the girl would easily deflect it. As expected, the girl swung her daggers, making the wind boost her hand so that her strike would carry more force. The Water Spike was instantly destroyed by her daggers as she dashed towards Arin's landing figure, ready to strike. Arin descended, and the girl had almost arrived beneath him where she could easily strike him. She grinned as she finally arrived beneath him just as his body had almost reached the ground. Before she could even process what was happening, a Water Bubble had already formed around her. 'Great. She took the bait.' Arin wouldn't just descend without any plan. He knew that the girl would see it as a chance to win while he was descending, and that was exactly what happened. So as soon as she arrived beneath him, he formed a Water Bubble around her, trapping her inside. Without wasting time, he stepped on the roof of the Water Bubble and landed behind it. The girl instantly turned, but Arin had already deactivated the Water Bubble Spell, and his sword was already at her neck. "Ugh..." She groaned, gritting her teeth in anger. She clenched her fists as she muttered, "I surrender..." Arin instantly brought back his sword that was near her neck and began walking away. The teacher stepped out and announced, "Winner, Arin Vale!" Most of the students, especially the boys, instantly erupted into cheers as Arin dropped the wooden sword and walked back to join the circle. He would've won this fight in the blink of an eye, but well, that would just be a foolish decision on his part. Suddenly, a boy tapped him, snapping him out of his thoughts. "The teachers have been signaling you to come for a while now," the boy said. Arin instantly looked in the direction where the teachers were standing, and indeed, they were using their hands to signal him to come. Arin raised a brow curiously as he nodded at the boy before walking towards the teachers. The moment he arrived, one of them instantly began scolding him. "What? Are we supposed to beg you to come? Or you don't feel pain?" Arin's eyes widened slightly as he now realized why they were calling him. He had gotten a few scratches from his battle with that girl, and there were two teachers in charge of healing injured students. He was supposed to head toward them immediately after the fight ended. 'I wasn't feeling the pain, and I ended up forgetting that I was even injured,' Arin thought. "Oh, I'm sorry," Arin apologized as he walked towards Riya, who was one of the two teachers in charge of healing the slight wounds of the students. She couldn't help but smile as soon as he arrived in front of her. "So it's not only in class you space out, huh?" Arin smiled. "Well, I just had a heated battle, so yeah, you could say I was reviewing the battle." Riya scoffed as she placed her hands on his arms, on the exact spots where he had scratches. "Heated my ass..." She murmured. It was barely audible, but Arin heard it. He just shook his head as he watched what Riya was doing. A blue mist instantly oozed out from her hands. Arin recognized this mist. 'Water Element Mana...' Suddenly, bubbles began forming on the scratches as the mist rested on them. As soon as she removed her hands, all his scratches were gone. 'The healing properties of the Water Element are quite fast,' Arin thought. Though he knew that he would have to advance to a certain level with his Water Element to be able to heal wounds. For now, he could just rely on his Vampiric healing capabilities. 'Hmm, I can even ask Riya for tips on how to create Water Element Spells more efficiently. I can create Water Element Spells quite fast, but it won't hurt getting some more tips from a pro.' Arin checked out his arms. "Thank you," he muttered before he began walking away. He joined the circle once again, and after a few minutes, the competition finally came to a close for the day. "Round three of the competition will begin tomorrow, so those who qualified should get prepared," Orion said before dismissing all the students. Arin began walking back to the dorm building along with the other students. Finally, he arrived in his room, and after dropping the bracelet on the floor, he quickly freshened up and began thinking of the things he had to do now. 'Hmm, before I think of making a new Spell, shouldn't I start the process to form the Ice Element from my Water Element?' he wondered. 'I should probably do that first,' he thought. 'It might take a while, but it's better to start now. Then, tomorrow, I'll meet Riya for a few tips on creating Spells for the Water Element.' "I guess this is one of the perks of having a teacher as an ally," Seraphine said. "For real," Arin said, realizing that he, indeed, could gain a lot from Riya being his ally. "Is creating Spells really hard?" Roxanne suddenly asked. Arin placed his hands on his waist as he began explaining. "Yes, kinda. Let's just say it's as hard as creating a Blood Skill." "That's not a good example," Seraphine said, "because when a Vampire is born, they naturally get Blood Skills as they grow. Though, it's different for Progenitor-related skills like the Blood Armour." Arin raised a brow. "Is that so? Ah, then Vampires have it easy." "So, the only example that can work for this explanation is that creating Spells is as hard as a Vampire trying to develop their Skills." From what Seraphine just said, Arin immediately understood that while Vampires naturally got their Skills, developing it was a different case. He instantly told Roxanne that example, and she widened her eyes. "Woah... That's quite hard," she muttered. "If a Vampire is not talented enough, they won't be able to develop their Skills to make it strong." Arin nodded. "Yeah, so you understand that now." Roxanne nodded as she walked back towards the window, continuing her daily staring session. With that, Arin sat down on the floor in a lotus position. "Time to improve again," he muttered. "When I'm done, I'll be able to turn my Water Element Spells into Ice."
