The Evolution Compendium Chapter 173

Following the sound, Chu Yi looked over. A voluptuous woman in a light palace gown lightly covered her vermillion lips, exuding charm. A hint of allure glinted in her bright red eyes. She stared directly at a handsome young man downstairs. From such a close distance, the young man looked truly fine, a rare beauty in the world. "Little brother, are you hurt? Come inside and let Big Sister have a look." Where have I seen this plot before? Chu Yi was momentarily stunned by her beauty. She looked thirty at most, with voluptuous curves and a substantial, heavy feel, like a ripe peach. Appearance-wise, she scored roughly eighty-five points. However, knowing that this residence was inhabited by upper-class elites, which included mistresses, Chu Yi understood. This beautiful woman, lonely and unfulfilled, had likely set her sights on his looks, wanting a taste. Chu Yi turned and left. He had no interest in such trysts. Besides, regularly interacting with beauties like Lias, the Moon Princess, and Jiang Qiuyun had greatly enhanced his immunity, calming his arousal quickly. Bika’s golden-brown vertical pupils blinked. Her fox tail lifted the clothes-drying rod and returned it to the beautiful woman. "This kid can actually resist... Truly extraordinary," the beautiful woman thought, a flicker of surprise in her eyes. She wielded a sliver of the rules of desire, and until now, no one had resisted her allure. Yet, this young man had easily shrugged it off. Beneath her impressive bosom was a slender waist, now wrapped in thin gauze. A rounded curve beneath the gauze made subtle chewing sounds, filled with malicious intent. The woman’s eyes grew hollow as she watched Chu Yi’s retreating figure, a sinister green gleam flashing within them. Never mind, there are plenty of opportunities. Such a Demon... he must be absolutely delicious to savor. Chu Yi looked back, glancing at the tightly closed window. Although he found the beautiful woman overly eager, his keen observation skills told him something was amiss. It was early morning, and she had accurately hit him with a clothes-drying rod... Beyond that, Chu Yi’s intuition screamed that something was wrong—an instinct honed from countless battles against the strange. She definitely has a problem. How dare she provoke an ancient Evil God! Truly ignorant of her limits, seeking her own death by launching a sneak attack! "Soul-Calling Banner!" Ducking into a corner, gray mist shrouded his figure, shielding him from external senses, Divination, and prophecy methods. His human skin writhed, blood splattered, and it transformed into an exquisite Soul-Calling Banner! Due to absorbing so many Souls, the Soul-Calling Banner had continuously upgraded, its skill strength receiving a massive boost. The experienced Bika, long accustomed to the gray mist, couldn’t see what her master was doing. "Soul Capturing Spell!" Chu Yi waved the Soul-Calling Banner. Ancient script, resembling climbing centipedes, flashed with purple light. A skull on the banner whispered, unleashing an invisible, twisting force that rushed towards the beautiful woman’s villa. As long as he had seen her face, he could capture her Soul, even from a thousand miles away! He’s become such a powerful Beast-Controlling Demon. I’d better act soon to prevent the Federation’s experts from ruining the plan, she thought. The beautiful woman then murmured, her vermillion lips slightly parted, uttering a series of incomprehensible whispers: "Gray Web Weaver, Master of Illusions, King of Caves... O mighty Spider Gods, please grant your devoted servant a bit of grace to offer a better sacrifice." Instantly, countless scattered bloodstains began to wriggle, gathering towards a ritual Array that had been inscribed, and started boiling as if heated. As the final word of the incantation was uttered, the blood erupted violently, tearing open a void rift. Within lay a dense darkness, home to towering, divine figures. The numerous, indescribable deities were, to the woman’s overwhelmed perception, mere masses of slowly writhing colors and lights, their grand significance utterly incomprehensible. Each deity controlled a cavern, each representing a world, bound by a dreamlike web. They were the Evil Gods’ Favored, all devoutly loyal. In the depths of the darkness, at the web’s center, pulsed a tremendously vast cluster of colors. The beautiful woman rejoiced but dared not look directly. Her worshipped lord was in slumber, immersed in woven illusions. If I could just receive a sliver of its grace, she thought, capturing Chu Yi would be much easier. Quickly, a gray, disk-shaped spider slipped along the web and into the woman’s body. It made rustling noises as it gnawed at her Soul, bestowing the great grace. The next moment, the void trembled. A twisting force enveloped her, coalescing into a skeletal hand that seized the disk spider, snatched it out, and vanished. The assembled deities shuddered, their gazes fixing on the space beyond the void rift. They were stunned, utterly shocked. It seemed an outsider Evil God had audaciously stolen the bestowed grace right before their eyes. How brazen! Instantly, the deities reacted, seething with fury. Provocation! This was a clear provocation by an outsider Evil God! Who dared to anger the great Spider Gods?! At the web’s center, a dense, dark mass of color swirled. Thousands of eyes opened simultaneously. Their collective gaze could plunge a target into an eternal, slumbering fantasyland, to be devoured as spiritual sustenance. It cast its gaze beyond the rift, peering into reality, its countless eyes swirling with endless malice. Strangely, however, the bestowed grace had vanished mid-journey; the target could not be found. For a long time, nothing happened. Just as Chu Yi began to feel uncertain, a spider-shaped Soul was suddenly dragged before him, clutched in a skeletal hand. The spider was only about the size of a small disk, yet it was as white as jade, exquisitely beautiful as if carved from the finest gemstone. Its six tiny, red-bean-like eyes blinked, gazing at Chu Yi with an innocent, adorable expression as it emitted a soft, childish cry. What is this? A baby spider? Chu Yi glanced at it, not quite understanding what it was. He decided to place it in the Chaotic Burial Mound, as it seemed to possess soul-attribute affinities. As for the kitchen, he feared this spider might devour his precious ingredients. That beautiful woman must be a member of the Evil God Sect, Chu Yi mused. That would make sense. Chu Yi waved the Soul-Calling Banner again. Nothing happened. She’s probably completely dead then, he concluded. Retracting the Soul-Calling Banner and the gray mist, Chu Yi emerged from a nearby restroom, back to his usual self. Suppressing his lingering doubts, he quickly disguised himself, altering his appearance before leaving the villa complex. The streets were bustling. Throngs of people were excitedly discussing how Yaoguang City’s foremost Demon, after lying dormant for two years, had suddenly reappeared. The allure of the King’s Cub, in this small border city, was comparable to detonating a nuclear bomb; the sheer volume of interest and attention it generated was terrifying. After much deliberation, the crowd had chosen an awe-inspiring title for Chu Yi: Six-Tailed Flame Emperor. Every Demon had an exclusive title, and Chu Yi was no exception. Bika’s ability to transform into a formidable Crown Flame Six-Tailed Fox when facing enemies, only to revert to an adorable six-tailed cub with her master, created an endearing contrast. This captivated millions, turning many skeptics into devoted fans. Chu Yi even noticed several shops already selling merchandise featuring him and Bika.
