"Thank you, Queen Mother.. these are all very beautiful," said Emmelyn to Queen Elara. She was so touched by the queen's kindness and love. She hugged her mother-in-law with teary eyes.
"Ah, I'm so glad you like them. They look good on you," Queen Elara hugged Emmelyn back.
After the two ladies broke away from each other, Emmelyn couldn't say anything for a few minutes. She was very moved and had to calm herself down. Queen Elara noticed her expression and only smiled.
She really liked Emmelyn and was happy because her son chose a wonderful woman as a wife. Queen Elara couldn't wait to see Mars returned and he could build a happy family with Emmelyn.
Ahh.. after Harlow was born, she hoped the couple would have one, or two more children. That would be wonderful. Queen Elara couldn't wait to be a grandmother. She would spoil the kids rotten.
"So, aside from the two pieces... is there anything else you like?" Queen Elara asked Emmelyn after she saw the girl look calm. Emmelyn took her teacup and sipped her tea with a beaming face.
The princess looked up and shook her head. "I think these two are enough, Queen Mother. Thank you so much. I will treasure them forever."
Queen Elara looked a bit disappointed, but she didn't want to force Emmelyn to take more.
"I will give you more jewelries on your birthday and after you give birth to Harlow," said Queen Elara to Emmelyn. "You must not say no. I insist."
Emmelyn smiled sheepishly when she heard the queen. She nodded and lowered her head to admire her brooch. She loved this item so much and would treasure it with her life.
"By the way, I have another surprise for you," said the queen after she closed her jewelry box and put it on the corner. Two maids came swiftly and took the box to store back in the queen's chamber.
Emmelyn widened her eyes when she heard the queen's words. Was there another surprise? What would it be? She was so excited.
Getting two beautiful pieces of jewelry from the queen was already a big surprise for her. She wondered what was the other surprise.
"They will be here soon. You will love them," said the queen with a big smile. Emmelyn could only wait and not ask further.
No matter what, she was just a guest in the royal palace and, even though the queen treated her so well, she didn't dare to be presumptuous.
Emmelyn could only think inwardly, who was it that the queen had invited to come that would become a surprise for Emmelyn.
Ahh.. maybe it's Edgar's sisters? Mars did say that he would ask Edgar to send his older sisters to come to the royal palace from time to time to keep Emmelyn company.
She had not seen them though. When Edgar asked her if his sisters could come, Emmelyn was not feeling well mentally.
She was having a really bad mood swing and her health was not that great, coupled with the fact that she was missing her husband so much.
She was worried that if she met Edgar's sisters in that situation, they would have a bad first impression of each other and Emmelyn did not want it to happen.
The first impression was very important and could last a lifetime. She thought since Edgar was Mars' best friend, and Emmelyn quite fond of him, she wanted to have a good relationship with his sisters as well.
She didn't want them to meet her for the first time and thought she was a snob and unpleasant woman to be around.
Hmm... now, she was feeling so much better. Maybe it would be good to meet people, she thought.
Emmelyn made a mental note to talk to Edgar and ask him to send an invitation to his sisters. Emmelyn would love to have tea with them, maybe this weekend.
"Your Majesty, your guests have arrived." John the butler came inside the lounge and bowed to the queen in respect.
"Ah... they are here. Have you helped them settled in their chambers?" Queen Elara asked the butler.
John nodded and replied, "Yes, Your Majesty."
"Well.. then, please bring them here."
Emmelyn was wondering who was the guests that the queen was waiting. Judging from the conversation between the queen and the butler, these guests must have come from afar since they were given a chamber to stay in the royal palace.

The Greenans?
Emmelyn's heart felt like it was going to leap out of her chest. If it was really the Greenans, she would be so happy!
She had been missing Lily and her boys for a while now. If only she was not pregnant, she would have asked permission from the monarchs to travel to Southberry and visit them.
She knew Mars planned to ask Athos and Lily to come and visit, but she didn't know if they would really visit this soon.

The door opened by John and he ushered a beautiful woman with two toddlers on her left and right, and a baby in her arms.
Emmelyn's assumption was correct. It was really The Greenans!
"Oh my gosh.. Lily!" Emmelyn was so excited and pleasantly surprised that she suddenly forgot her manners and quickly jumped up from her seat and ran toward the Southberry princess.
"Heyy... how are you doing?" Lily asked Emmelyn with a big smile on her face. "We just arrived an hour ago. The queen invited us."
Emmelyn halted her steps and turned around to the queen, to find the beautiful woman smiled sweetly and opened up her arms to welcome the two boys.
"Welcome to the capital, boys... You look so healthy and happy," said the queen.
Lily and Emmelyn quickly curtseyed, followed by the boys who bowed down to the queen.
"Your Majesty, good afternoon. Hope you are always healthy," said Lily with a respectful voice. Her face was beaming with happiness, even though Emmelyn could see that she was a bit tired from the long journey.
