Several people leaned together as countless roaches drew nearer and nearer. Zhao Changsheng’s whip constantly swung forward, clearing a path for them to advance, but hardly had they taken a few steps before new roaches emerged.
Lu Chen was always watching the ceiling above their heads to ensure no roaches could fall and crawl into their clothes, while Su Mo did her best to slash at roaches flying through the air. Li Qian carried Su Niang on his back, standing in the middle, as Jianxiong activated his superpower, and it wasn’t long before several disgusting corpses were impaled on his bone spur.
Sheng Yuan, his skin hardened and glowing with a golden light, charged out of the office with Jingjing. He was faring much better, but his people, clearly not as agile, were already half dead or injured, and the women without superpowers were covered in roaches.
Their wails and thrashing ceased after a moment.
Several roaches burrowed into their mouths, tore through their ears to exit, and the women’s voluptuous bodies quickly swelled and then burst with a loud pop, splattering their flesh and blood, mixed with roaches, onto the nearby people, infecting several more.
Su Mo diverted her gaze after a quick glance and chopped down a huge roach flying towards her.
The ground beneath Li Chuan was a bright red, as countless roaches ablaze fell to the ground, their bodies charring, filling the entire factory with a foul smell.
"How about we work together?" he asked, stepping towards Lu Chen, not caring about the mercenaries behind him fighting desperately to protect him.
By his side was a high wall of fire, but the bright flames flickered, clearly not going to last long.
Su Mo glanced at his wall of fire and spoke for Lu Chen, "Sure."
She walked over to him, conjuring two jars of peanut oil in her hands. She stared at Li Chuan’s oddly almond-shaped eyes and said deliberately, "I’ll spread the oil; you can ignite it with your superpower, right?"
"Of course," Li Chuan raised an eyebrow, snuffing out a roach that was rapidly approaching her with a small flame.
"Su Mo, come back," Lu Chen frowned, trying to stop her.
Shaking her head at him, Su Mo raised the jars of peanut oil and said, "There are too many of them; continuing isn’t a solution."
"You have to cover me, Lu Chen," she said with a cute smile before turning around and speeding away with her superpower activated.
The man’s cold phoenix eyes narrowed, his superpower surging wildly in his hands as he gathered all his frost around him to aid Su Mo.
Still benefiting from her Light as a Feather status, she tried her best to jump towards the door, pushing her speed to the limit. Whenever she was about to land, ice swiftly formed on the ground, freezing a dense patch of crawling roaches beneath it.
Her toes just touched the ice, and the next second, she was dashing forward. The ice behind her was immediately overrun by roaches.
The two coordinated flawlessly, and a strange light flickered through Li Chuan’s almond eyes.
She had emptied the jars of oil by the time she reached the entrance of the factory.
"Ignite it!" Su Mo shouted hoarsely, swiftly drawing out her Tang Blade to chop down a flying roach.
Li Chuan’s dark red pupils surged with superpower, flames igniting in both his hands, forming a wall of fire one meter high that ignited the trail of peanut oil.
With Li Chuan’s continuous enhancement, the flames surged high, mixing with the smell of peanuts, and starkly dividing them from the roach army. He dashed into the flames, speeding forward, with Lu Chen and his team following closely behind.
Zhao Changsheng brought up the rear, running and wildly swinging her whip as the thunder in her hands grew weaker. She immediately took a gulp of Jasmine Tea, as Jianxiong protected Li Qian by occasionally knocking down roaches that fell from above.
Sheng Yuan immediately saw the bloody path they had cleaved and yelled to his subordinates, still fighting desperately, "Get inside the firewall, follow them!" while clutching Jingjing in his hand.
Su Mo stepped out of the auto factory into the open area outside. The roof of the factory shed was teeming with cockroaches, the structure wobbling, ready to collapse at any moment.
She scanned the surroundings, her gaze pausing on a dead, infected ordinary woman, "Weren’t there two people here originally?"
Her heart thumped violently again, her keen sixth sense telling her that the superpower user definitely hadn’t survived.
A black sphere flew out from the roof of the auto factory into the night. Su Mo couldn’t see clearly but instinctively dodged aside, illuminated by the blazing fire from the gas inside the factory, she finally saw that it was the head of the burly man who had killed someone with a screwdriver in the afternoon.
His neck had been completely torn off, thrown in front of her. Gradually, a figure appeared on the roof, hunched over, crawling, its mouth still chewing on half of a palm.
Su Mo’s eyes widened as she shouted at the people about to rush out of the factory, "Lu Chen! Don’t come out yet!"
Upon hearing her, Li Chuan immediately stopped, and Lu Chen also halted. The flames temporarily created a safe space around them, but Sheng Yuan’s subordinates behind them hadn’t heard Su Mo’s warning and rushed out recklessly.
"Don’t come out!" Su Mo yelled again, but it was too late. That person had already stepped out of the factory. The shadow on the roof swiftly struck, leaping downwards with a sharp sound, its claws shattering the skull of the man who had run out.
With that man’s death, the rest of the people frantically stopped in their tracks.
"What is that thing!" the remaining people said in fear.
"Damn it, how come there’s a Level 3 Powerful Zombie!" Jianxiong recognized it instantly, the mutated, swollen muscles struck him as even more astonishing than his own.
They couldn’t stay blocked in the factory forever, Su Mo immediately drew her Tang Blade and rushed towards it at full speed.
The wind howled past her ears. At a higher level, her advantage was significantly reduced, and relying on her small stature, she narrowly dodged a huge fist aimed at her face.
That fist smashed into the ground, instantly fracturing the surface into a web-like pattern.
Su Mo, having attracted its attention, immediately picked up speed to draw it away.
Lu Chen’s eyes remained fixed on that petite figure, his voice urgent, "Help her."
He drank a sip of Jasmine Tea and leaped past several people to rush out, followed closely by Jianxiong and the others.
Su Mo kept controlling her speed, dragging the Level 3 Zombie along. But the area was only so big, and aside, they had their latest modified military vehicle.
That couldn’t get damaged. She looked around and dashed directly towards the walls of the auto factory.
The Powerful Zombie was incredibly fast. She stepped on the wall and, as the black-light emanating claws reached her, somersaulted in mid-air to land behind the zombie. She bent down slightly, stepped back a pace, gathered her energy, and leapt onto the strong back of the zombie.
She was now sitting on the zombie’s shoulders, her thighs tightly clamping the zombie’s head, her Tang Blade held high, ready to hack down, but the zombie caught her thigh, attempting to forcefully throw her off.
Caught off guard, she was thrown off along with her Tang Blade, and she only managed to grab onto its head, desperately trying to control its movements.
