"What are you saying Rafael? I can't let you do that,"
Nicole said shaking her head in disapproval, no way was she going to let Rafael announce anything, no, she couldn't, that would bring attention to her, when he had told her he had something like a solution she had been hopeful but then when he told her what he wanted to do, she lost that ray of hope, he didn't get the point, he didn't get why she was so worried about the interview Natalie did, she didn't want the public attention on her, she didn't want it and his solution will do that too, bring her to the spotlight.
"Honey, can you listen to me? This is our best bet if we wait till after her interview sirs that would make the heat even more,"
"No, I don't want that, I will talk to my sister, my parents are trying to get through her, I don't want either of these, no,"
"Nicole, you are not getting the point, whether your sister decides to change her mind or not, they will air it, even if they don't, air her whole interview they will still expose it, the mistake is already made, your sister should not have done that interview, the minute she spoke with them, the whole thing already exploded, I wish I could tell which agency she did the fucking interview with but none of the agency is responding favorably, my legal team is reaching out to everyone of them and they advise that this is the best take, just trust me on this and give me permission,"
Her husband pleaded the thing is she trusted his judgment, trusted him to not but still she didn't want the attention and she already knew they were going to be more negative things being said about her than positive things.
"I trust you Rafael but I can't, just let me keep talking to my sister who knows maybe she will talk to them to take it down,"
"Then let me do this Nicole, let me do this because no matter what your sister does right and I am sure she won't listen to you even if she does, listen those rats, those media, they are blood-sucking demons, they are still going to do shits even if she tells them not to, let me do this and at least remove some power from whatever that interview holds okay? You trust me right? I won't do anything if it's going to be wrong for you, do you understand Nicole?"
He asked coming close to her and holding her hands, she nodded, there was no point arguing that would make it feel like she doesn't trust him and she did.
"Okay, let's do it,"
"Good, that's good, I will speak to my lawyer and they will drop the announcement tonight, we are going to be fine, just promise me that you won't go anywhere near your sister for now because Natalie right now is a walking time bomb and no one should be close to her except the doctor's."
Nicole didn't like to think about what Natalie had turned into, she use to be sweet and kind and looked out for her and was her better half even though she made her do impossible things for her but still, they had loved each other but now, now that wasn't the case, Natalie was out to get her.
"I promise,"
She said and her husband hugged her close, patting her back gently and reassuring her that everything will be just fine, she hoped so too.
The announcement was up before she woke up the next morning and as she had expected it went viral, she made the mistake of opening her phone and she couldn't take just how much her name was being mentioned, heads went from "Rafael SALVADOR MARRIES THE WRONG SISTER," to "Rafael'S WIFE NOT HIS ORIGINAL BRIDE, and many more others, she even saw one where they said both sisters are married to Rafael, she saw all these coming but Rafael has collected the phone from her and assured her that things will be fine, but it never got fine, it got worse because five or six hours after she woke up, Grace called her other phone and told her to check a particular TV station, she saw her sister on the screen and her face went pale.
"Rafael!!"
She yelled for her husband who hasn't gone to work and kept her company, he came running into the living room.
"She did it Rafael, they aired it,"
Rafael stood close to her as they both watched her sister destroy her on the television, as they kept listening, she could feel his temper rising, all Nicole could think of was this should just be a horrible nightmare that she would wake up from.
"What the fuck?"
Nicole sat mouth open as she stared at her sister on the screen, she couldn't make out what her sister was saying anymore but with the look on her eyes she could tell they weren't nice things like the ones she has heard so far, her husband was fuming beside her, she couldn't hear what he was saying either, she knew Natalie threatened to do it but it never occurred to her that she would come to this extent, going in the television to talk about her, shaming her? Natalie was doing this to her?
"Nicole? Say something, don't just stare at nothing,"
Her husband urged, she turned to see him, he had a worried expression.
"What do you want me to say? I don't have anything to say, my sister just dragged me to the public and you know this isn't going to end well, people are going to judge me blindly,"
"Hey, don't think that, okay, we will fix this,"
"How Rafael? How are we going to fix this? This will be everywhere by morning, how did my sister become so bad?"
"Calm down, Nicole,"
She was calm, God knows she was calm, but she can't keep calm for long because this was going to escalate and there was nothing she could do about it, they didn't know her, they knew her sister and they are going to side with the one they knew.
"I am calm Rafael, can't you see,"
"Baby, girl, look at me, just look at me okay?"
Her husband urged and she did, she looked at him, saw the emotions in his eyes saw that even though people out there won't be by her side, he will.
