"What are you on about Josie?"
He questioned.
"Don't act like you don't know,"
"Know what? I don't know anything, you tell me, you seem to know a lot,"
He replied.
"I don't have anything to tell you, I just want us to be together,"
"That's never going to happen, now you better start talking,"
"What do you want me to talk about? You already know you are lying, you are sleeping with her again and ruining all my plans for us,"
She cried out.
"As much as I don't want to answer you but Josie, you got this all wrong, Nicole and I haven't even been in the same space since we got divorced apart from New York, so where ever you are getting the narrative from that I am sleeping with her again which is why I am not agreeing to a relationship with you, you are wrong, the who narrative is wrong and bullshits,"
"It's not, you slept with her,"
"Are you out of your mind? I didn't, why am I even talking about this with you? Just leave,'
"That day you were drunk, you guys slept together, I thought it would just be a one-time thing, I thought you didn't like her anymore since you pretended not to remember but I was wrong, I should have***"
"What?"
He caught her off, she just said what he heard right? There is no way he misheard what she said, he couldn't even remember, when did that happen and why didn't he have any memories of it.
"What do you mean Josie, what day are you talking about?"
"Stop pretending like you have no idea, it was the day Caleb told me to come to look over you,"
She said and he stared in confusion.
“I thought you said you didn't meet anyone in the house, I asked you and you said no one was there when you came so what nonsense are you saying right now?"
He yelled at her, she was saying all these things, and for what benefits? Nicole had come to him that night? That was Impossible. She would need a driver to take him because she can't drive, or she took a cab? He couldn't remember, he didn't even know what to believe, he just stared at Josie waiting for her to spill but she choose to be quiet.
"Josie? You better start talking, did you or did you not meet my wife in the house that day?"
He inquired harshly, he was beating himself up, he should have known how could he not have known, dream, he remembered dreaming of her the dream, it felt so real that it might not have been a dream after all.
"I don't have anything to say to you, I made a mistake by coming here so I am just going to leave,"
She said trying to leave, she had to be kidding him, he held onto her arm, not caring that he might be hurting her, he won't let her leave just like that, not when she lied to him, not when he might have, God, because of her, no it wasn't her fault, he should have remembered, it wasn't so hard to do, how could he forget something like that.
"Rafael let me go"
"Not until you tell me everything, you deceitful bitch,"
He yelled in her face.
"I am not going to say a word to you, what do you think you can do to me? You can do nothing but talk, if you try to act smart, just one word to my dad and your whole existence will be a thing of the past,"
She threatened, Rafael burst out laughing, she had to be kidding him, there is no way she was being serious right now and using her father to threaten him, he knew a lot about her and her background to know that despite her father being a powerful man in Italy, he couldn't get to his level.
"You, you don't know me, Josie, you don't, because if you do, then you won't use your daddy as a threat because I don't have to raise a finger to end him, if anyone should be careful here, it should be you, girl, think about it,"
He responded letting her go, she rubbed the spot where he held and eyed him tearfully, he wasn't moved by her tears, not after what she just told him.
"Why can't you just love me? How hard is it Rafael? It was so easy for me to fall in love with you, I moved to Florida because of you, you can't just tell me to go away and expect me to stay away, I am used to getting what I want, it can't change now, I want you,"
She yelled at him. He didn't know what he had liked in her the first time they met, he couldn't think of it anymore, all the respect he had for her just a few months ago when they had met had melted away and he was left with nothing, she was not okay, she didn't love him she was just obsessed with the idea that she does, he felt pity for her, she was so used to been pleased that being told no was foreign to her.
"You don't love me, Josie, go back home to Italy, take a break and try and do what is good for you,"
"You are good for me, you are what I need,"
"I am not,"
"I know what's good for me Rafael, we can be the best together, I am good for your business too, you can expand to Italy without stress, I can help you with that and you will reach your goals faster than you will ever think,"
She said changing strategy if he was new to this whole thing he would have fallen for it but he wasn't new, and even though he wanted to expand into many other countries around the world, he didn't need anyone, especially not a woman to help him, he built his empire from scratch with little or no help, right now he had the money to do whatever he wants, if he wants a hotel in Rome or Milan, he damn well knew he can get it, in fact, he took the challenge, he would get a hotel running in Milan before the year runs out.
"I don't need your help, Josie,"
"Why can't you just give in already, why are you making this so hard for me? Do you enjoy seeing me like this? Seeing me all begging for your love?"
"No, I don't, I don't want this, just stop already,"
"You will regret this, I promise you that you will regret losing an opportunity such as me,"
She said and stormed out, he closed the door behind her letting out a deep breath, she officially ruined his holiday and he had no choice but to return home to Florida, earlier than planned.
