"I am sorry I couldn't meet up the other day, I had so much to do,"
Nicole said while sitting across Aron.
"It's fine, I understand that you are a busy lady now with all the things that you have to do, I was surprised when you said you wanted to meet up with me, I understand,"
"Yeah, thanks Aron, how have you been?"
"Being good, I think I am going to cancel the exhibition for good, I don't think I will ever find a good place for it, I already postponed because you know why and if I do again, I don't think anyone will have interest anymore so it's best to cancel,"
He said, he looked sad about it, she felt bad for him, he had paid for an auditorium but it turned out that the person he paid to was a scammer, he couldn't use the hall and he couldn't get his money back, that's why she wanted him to use her gallery, the space was big enough and it was an actual gallery, it will benefit her too and it will draw people to her, so win-win.
"There is no reason to cancel Aron, you can use my place, it's big enough,"
She said.
"No, you don't have to do that, I don't want you to go against your will for me,"
"What? I am going to open the gallery in January and you can use it, I won't just be helping you, you are going to pay, just at a discount since the place is still new and letting you use it will bring exposure to the place too, I am not being a good Samaritan here I am just doing business,"
She said, she didn't want to make him uncomfortable, she didn't even know why he was saying no now when he has been asking her to let him use it, the gender confuse her more than anything, they were unpredictable, she still have another if his kind to deal with when she gets home later today after she got over what Josie had told her, she decided it would be best to let Rafael know about the opening of the hotel, he will find out anyway.
"What do you say, Aron? You pay only a quarter of what you are supposed to pay, you hold your exhibition at my place, people come and I get exposure and you get to successfully host your exhibition, win, win,"
"I don't even know what to say, but I will take it, thank you so much, Nicole,"
"Don't thank me, send me money, my account is running low, I didn't know start or might I say launching a business can be this expensive, the hotel is already like finished, but I still have to spend loads, my dad thinks I am stingy because I told him I am not spending any more money,"
Nicole lamented, it was way more than she assumed, over the last few days she has spent more than she ever bargained for and she knew more was coming.
"Well, even the hotel is completed, there are a lot of things to do too, so I understand, you should have set your mind to losing lots of money but be rest assured that after it launches, you might make all that money you just list in one night, "
"That's what my dad and Gavin said, well you can't blame me, I am not used to things like this, I am glad I let my dad and our family lawyer take care of it, I would have lost my mind,"
She said and she meant every word, if she hadn't asked her dad for help she would have had to rethink her decision to open the hotel, she still needed to change the name, because it had a Salvador to it and she was no longer a Salvador since the name hadn't been revealed to the public before, it was pretty easy to do, that was the easiest party of it, the hardest part would be getting good people to work at the hotel and she left that up to her dad and Gavin and whoever else her dad worked together with, they were the ones that have been doing all the work.
"I must say I am impressed, just a couple of months ago you were hiding away and didn't want to do these things and now you embraced it all, I am proud of you,"
"Thank you, Aron,"
She said, she was proud of herself too, she might not have had many hands in it and people might say she is privileged but either way she was still proud of herself.
"How are you spending your Christmas? Wanna go out with me?"
Aron asked, Nicole shook her head, she already had plans for Christmas, which involves spending the whole day with her family.
"I already have plans for Christmas,"
"Oh, okay then,"
"Thanks, Aron, but I want to spend Christmas with my family, my sister and I recently made up and I want us to spend more time together,"
She revealed.
"Wow, that's nice, you will introduce us right?"
"Of course,"
"That's cool,"
Aron responded and they talked more about the exhibition and how it's going to be. She and Aron parted ways and she went back home and was reminded that she had to still call Rafael, she was done postponing it, she picked up her phone and went to sit on her bed.
Nicole hesitated in making the call but she knew she had to, he was the one that built the hotel, it won't be right if she just go ahead without inviting him, she let out a deep breath hoping he will take her call, she decided to call him during the day to avoid a recurrence of what happened with his new girlfriend the other day, she already told the woman she wanted nothing to do with Rafael and that she could have him, not like she had any say in it, the woman was just insecure.
