Melissa has packed all her things waiting for the worst. She knew the alpha will request for her sobefore he gives her the order to leave the palace, she decided to pack her things.
She has puffy eyes for the amount of time she's been crying, her face was so red. The cries subsided a little.
Just when she opened the door to leave, Jemima was already standing by that door.
" Where do you think you're going ?"
Melissa wasn't ready for any confrontation but it's either now or never " I need to leave this palace"
" Why?"
" Please Jemima don't act as if you don't know why. I hid my identity from the king. He must be mad at me right now and I'll be mad at myself if I was in his shoes" She said
" But you have your reasons"
" No matter the reason maybe I should have come clean. I regret doing that to him"
Jemima let out a loud sigh " please go inside. We need to talk"
Melissa nodded knowing what they are about to talk is serious. They went to in and both sat on the mattress.
They were quiet for a while before Jemima broke the silence.
" My brother is angry"
" I know "
" He has sent the guards to come for you"
" I know he'll do that "
Jemima raised a brow at her " aren't you worried or something?"
Melissa shrugged " I don't care anymore. He has all the right to punish me "
" But you're his mate, he can't do that to you" a worried Jemima yelled.
Melissa was surprised by her action " Shouldn't you be on his side? Why are you defending me even when you know that what I did was wrong "
She shrugged " We make mistakes and he should understand that. No one is above mistake and you healed him. With your help, we revived him back to life. That just shows how much you care for him. I see how you looked at him Melissa, you truly love my brother "
Melissa couldn't deny that, it's true that she was in love with the king. She can't hide that anymore.
"I don't know what to do Jemima, my heart is conflicted right now. I think it's best I head back to my pack. Moreover, we are leaving tomorrow so there is no difference if I go today".
Jemima didn't want her to leave, not now not ever. She needs her here beside her brother " please don't go"
Melissa smiled sadly "I should leave"
Their moment got cut short by a heavy knock. They both looked at each other in confusion.
" I think they are here to take you," Jemima said with wide eyes.
Melissa got up ready to open the door but got stopped by Jemima " Don't open it"
" why?" Asked Melissa
" if you do, you are a dead meat. My brother is brutal when he's this angry and now he thinks you joined hands with Bryan, just imagine what he'll do to you"
" What do I do then ?" Melissa whispered.
" Runaway"
The former's eyes were wide open, that thought never cross her mind and It'll be dangerous if she does that. That will make Raphael blame her more.
" I can't"
" Please listen to me Melissa, this is the best decision"
" Miss Melissa, we know you're in there you best come out or you'll face a grave crime " the guard in charge yelled from outside.
Melissa would have pissed her pant if it wasn't for Jemima here " Please help me, Jemima "
" I'm thinking "
" please think fast"
Jemima stared around the room and then she found it. She found the escape door. She knew that some rooms on the king floor has another escape door but didn't know exactly where. The moment she found it a smile graced her lips.
" Follow me " she commanded.
Jemima moved the mattress from the wall, she move the curtain behind it one side and truly a door was connected to the wall. She used her wolf power to break the lock and push it open.
" Get in"
Melissa couldn't hide her surprise, she never knew there was another door in the room aside from the main door.
" Where is this place leading us to?"
" Just get in already," she said with an eye roll.
They got inside and along stairs await them. Melissa made sure to follow Jemima's steps as she directs them to wherever it is they were going to.
As they got to the last stairs, another tall door awaits them but this time around, the door wasn't the normal door that can be easily broken. It was the ancient door and can be open only with special powers or the Alpha himself.
" This can't be happening right now " Jemima groaned out " We are doomed"
" What is it? " Melissa asked worriedly.
" This door can be open by the king or with any special powers" she explains
" Don't you have any special powers?"
" Are you kidding me right now, do I look like someone with any special powers?"
Melissa would have cracked up at Jemima's expression if it wasn't for their current situation.
" but I thought any person that has the bloodline in them is gifted with special powers," Melissa said.
" The moon goddess didn't find it deem to gift me that kind of powers. The only power I have is that of the dreams and the power to see spiritual beings" she rolled her eyes " But on a serious note, what if you have some kind of powers?"
Melissa's lips perked up " are you kidding me! I'm a maid remember ?"
" Whatever but you know we're losing count of time. They must be on their way to find us if they don't see you in the room."
Melissa knew that was true" but what if they followed closely behind us?" She was scared.
" They won't suspect that we followed through that door but they must be on their way to inform the king that you are nowhere to be found"
" We need to be fast about it then"
" Try building up some anger in you to see if you have some hidden powers"
