Lena stood in front of us " you two need to stop this right now. You're not in your senses" she glanced from Ashley to me.
" Lena, allow her. Can't you see that her mind is already made up? Nothing you say or do will change her " I said releasing a breath. " it's the best "
" You heard her, " Ashley said " I'm done wasting my time with her anyways. I'll be out now and please before I come back I want you to keep all my clothes on my bed neatly folded." With that, she opened the door to make her leave.
The person standing outside the door shocked us. I had my mouth opened wide agape.
Jemima stood with a straight face. I'm sure she heard all that happened.
" Well well well, look who we have here," Ashley said with a smirk " I'll just take my leave " Ashley left.
" Please don't believe what Ashley said Jemima " Lena spoke. This girl is more like a sister to me than Ashley, no wonder I have a connection with her than Ashley.
Jemima snorted " She have a mouth of her own so let her speak up herself "
I took a deep breath " please Melissa before you have different ideas in your head, I just want you to know that I've never used any form of demonic power on anybody. All the punishments given to me weren't staged. I swear on your mother's death, I have no bad intention with your brother "

Lena stood with mouth wide open.

" I warned you, Melissa. Now thinking about what Ashley said and also the dreams I've been having, I think I now know who you are really" She said " This plan of yours need to stop and I'll be the one to stop you"
" Jemima just hear her out "
Jemima glared at her " it's Miss Jemima from now on. This is the last time you'll ever see me here and don't you worry, I'll make sure I convince my brother to pick someone else and not you. You are a maid and that is what you'll be for the rest of your life"
Her words hurt and it hits home. She was right though, I am a maid and that is what I'll always be.

" Your sorry mean nothing to me anymore. Just know that if anything happens to my brother, you'll be the prime suspect for that " she said then made her way out of the room.
Ashley caused this, she caused it all.
I was weak from everything. I fell on the floor making a thud sound " I swear I have no bad intentions on anyone" I whispered to myself.
Lena sat beside me on the floor " I believe you"
I started at her " but why? Why do you believe me? You don't even know me "
She smiled " I don't need to spend years with you before I know who you are. I respect you Mel, no matter what had happened today you'll always have my back. Anyone with an intelligent mind will always know that Ashley was only jealous of what you have."
I hugged her so tight that I don't know what I did for the moon goddess for her to bless me with someone like Lena " Thank you so so much "
" So get up and pick up your bag, it's time for you to move to the palace "
" are you crazy Lena?! Didn't you see what happened here? and you want me to go!"
Lena rolled her eyes " This is you putting them wrong. You did nothing of what you are accused of and if you decide to give up now, they'll see you like the liar they claim"
" But Lena...
" No but, just go and whatever wants to happen should happen as far you know that you did nothing wrong. Don't let what others say to affect you"

Lena is a good adviser. She lifted my spirit and I appreciate it. Come to think of it, if I had stayed behind I'll be proving Ashley and Jemima right and it'll hurt more.
I smiled as I sighted granny Joanne from afar. She smiled back at me.
" Melissa, you are finally here," she said, " I thought you won't be coming "
" But I did," I said and she laughed.
" The king and the rest have been waiting for your arrival."
" Really?" I asked surprised.
" Yes, dear we thought that you won't be coming"
" So sorry for keeping you waiting "
" The rest are already situated. Your room will be shown to you. A guard is waiting for you"
I nodded " Thanks "
We parted ways. True to her words, a guard was already waiting for me. He gestured for me to follow him which I did.
" Here is your room," he said and turn to leave.
" Thanks "

The hallway was empty and quiet. I wonder why though. Shouldn't I be hearing some noises from my colleagues? Or are they not on this floor? I decided not to think too much about it so I twist the doorknob and pushed the door in. The room was so large that I had a second thought if this was the room given to me or the guard made a mistake.
How can a maid leave in a room like this? it was so big almost twice the size of the one Ashley and I shared. Could this be a plot? This can't be my room. I'm not taking it so I went out in search of the same guard that brought me here.
I was lucky to find him climbing up to the floor I was.
" excuse me!" I yelled as I ran after him. He stopped to answer me.
" Yes?"
" erm. I think you might have mistaken my room for another room"
He raised browser understanding.
" What I meant was, that room you gave to me isn't my room"
He chuckled folding his arms to his chest and man, did he look so fine.." Then whose room is it?
" I am a maid and that room doesn't look like a maid's room. Please just show me my real room. I can't stay there "
" I'm sorry that is the room given to you by the King but if you still insist on changing your room I'd advise you to speak to the king about it."
I can't. I wanted to say.
" can I ask you something?"
" What is it?"
" Where are the remaining maids? Where are their rooms?"
" it's down this floor"
I was confused " Then why was I given this room?"
" I have no answer to that Miss. Ask the King"
