Melissa's Pov
I can't believe I'm doing this for the second time again. I was tired of working so I decided to take a rest in the King's private room known as the Crave room, yes you heard right the room with the golden door.
The work was too much to handle, I needed a break and that was the best escape I could think of at the moment. As always, my nostrils were filled up with the king's scent and I couldn't be happier. My wolf sagged her shoulders wishing that day will come whereby she can call him ours.
I wish for that day too. It feels lonely not having him closer. I lay down on the couch staring at the room and then that was when I saw the painting again. Who was she? I thought to myself.
I got up and marched to the painting on the wall. The more I look at her the more I see myself in her. She was beautiful that I won't deny. She has beautiful dark eyes, her smile could brighten the day. She is just like an angel and I was jealous. I'm me, the ugly duckling. No matter how many people try to appease me by telling me how gorgeous I was, I never believed. I feel as if they only want to make me look good and it's irritating especially when I'm being compared to people that are much prettier than I.
I know the king will never want me. If this lady here was his girlfriend, then I'm sure I'll be rejected and it'll hurt. A lot. I wiped the threatening tears that fell down my face. It makes me look stupid. I took a deep breath masking my soul with the Alpha's chocolate wood scent. It drives me crazy beyond imagination.
My legs pushed me to the king-size bed and just like that, I collapsed on it. It was so comfortable. Riches are something beautiful. When you have the means to get something, it's like you have the authority over anyone that crosses your path. I wish to be rich someday too. I can't even remember if my parent were rich or not. I could only remember few things about them and that is their features. The worst is, it's beginning to wear off too.
I can remember much from my past, accept my present. It hurts a lot not to know much about yourself and this always pushed me to want to be run away but it was never possible for me.
The tears flew down freely and I allowed it. I was comforted by my makes scent. It's given me this peace of mind which I'm l for. My eyes became heavy and I let myself drown in dreamland. Whatever might happen should happen, right now I'm at home, my home. Nothing feels better knowing that you're home.

I yawned, tossed, and turn. Why do I feel so relaxed? The was different from the bed given to us so what has changed. Then realization dawned on me. I flew up almost landing on the floor.
I was in search of my sandal which was nowhere to be found. I bent down trying to check under the bed just for me to hear someone say,
" are you looking for this ?"
I knew that voice so well not to miss it. That voice was none other than the King Alpha himself. I was doomed.
My body began to shake, I couldn't turn around because of his scared I was. This was not how I pictured my end. My punishment must be grave, I'm sure of that.
I could feel him moving forward. I closed down my eyes ready for the impact. One second, two seconds nothing happened. I opened my eyes wondering what was happening.
" You disobey my order the second time " he hissed
I furrowed my brows confused. This was the first.
As if reading my mind he said " this wasn't your first time here. This is your second time "
I was speechless. How did he know?
" Turn around "
My legs betrayed me. It moved on its own. I couldn't meet his eyes " I'm sorry"
He snorted " Sorry? You don't seem sorry to me. I know this will happen again"
I fiddle with my palm not understanding why he was talking like that " I'm ready for whatever punishment you give to me Alpha "
He moved more closer this time almost taking away my breath. I could perceive his sweet scent as he stood just a few meters from me.
" You don't obey my orders," he said in a low voice that if not for my wolf gene I wouldn't have heard " Why?"
" I..i..i
" Sure you have nothing to say" he cut me off " No matter the punishment I know you'll still repeat it " but why? Why do you find it hard to obey me?"
This time around I met his eyes and I regretted it that minutes. His eyes were clouded with lust as they set on me. What is happening? Is the king lusting for me? How is that even possible?
" you drive me crazy," he said making me more shocked beyond words " Your eyes, are beautiful"
This is not right at all. Is he now aware that I was his make? My hands went straight to my neck just to be sure my necklace was intact and it really was so what is happening right now.
" Alpha" I whispered but he shushed me up.
He was closer than I thought staring at my eyes as if they are the beautiful thing he has ever seen. Eyes that I hate a lot.
" What is it about you that keeps drawing me closet to you? " he asked as his finger traced my face making me gasp at the gesture " You are beautiful"
I swallowed loudly. I tried moving backward when he did the unthinkable, the alpha drew me more closer to him making me crash into his chest with a loud gasp.
We were so close right now that he drives me real crazy " please Alpha, I need to leave "
He raised a brow " you brought yourself here and you're not leaving until I say so"
I swallowed " please don't hurt me "
He gave me a mischievous look "?"
My heart was racing " I know I shouldn't have come here but I did and I know this won't go down without punishment and I'm ready for whatever it may be. You are the alpha and the least I should have done was to obey you but I...
He kissed me. Alpha Raphael was kissing me. I was shocked beyond words, I couldn't move. My body freezes as he was the one doing the kissing.
When I came to my senses I pushed him away. He had no sign of regret in his eyes and that made me even more surprised. What is happening right now?
" This isn't right at all"
I was about to make a run for it but he held my hand and said " You can't run away forever "
That was the only thing he said as I ran out of the room with so many thoughts swirling in my head. I made a run straight to my room. My emotions were everywhere.
The door made a banging sound as I rested my back on it. My heart was beating fast. I placed my hand on my chest area to stop my racing heart but nothing was working. I slide down the door in dazed.
What just happened? This question kept ringing in my brain. This is not supposed to be happening right now.
What does the king mean by what he said? ' I can't run away forever ' why did he say those words. Did he know the truth already?
I dragged myself to my bed. I was weak, this whole thing made me weak all of a sudden. My hand went to my lips and I could still feel his soft lips on mine. The Alpha King Kissed me. If I wasn't in bondage right now, I would be dancing up in joy.
It felt surreal. Was this a way of punishing me? Is this to make me weak. If this was his way to punish me then kudos to him because he succeeded in doing that because right now I don't think there is anything that'll make me go back to that room. From now henceforth, I'll try as much as possible to stay very far away from him. This must not happen again.

Granny Joanne called for a maid gathering. She said she has an announcement to make. Right now, we were all gathered waiting for her to start her speech.
" I wonder what this is all about?" Ashley said beside me and I couldn't agree less with her.
" I just hope is nothing serious," I said.
" I hope "
Finally, granny Joanne was here. Her beautiful motherly smile radiates the room. She does have a really beautiful smile which was contagious. I had to smile too as she greets all of us.
" I hope you'll are doing good"
A lot of us chorused " yes" but if you ask me, I wasn't feeling good at all. I sighed.
" Not to take much of your time, this gathering is to inform you that, we'll be having some visitors from our neighboring packs. This time around we are the one hosting them since they hosted us the last time. So because of this, some of you will be selected to help the maid working in the king palace and that means, you'll be relocating to the palace. This simply means you'll be moving from here to living inside the main house "
Some squealed loudly making me roll my eyes. What's so special about living in the main house?.
Ashley held my hand " I hope I get selected "
" Why?"
She gave me a duh look " so that I can be able to see the king all the time "
I rolled my eyes at her " I hope you know that our stay here will soon end "
" Why are you such a hater. This pack is becoming more interesting to live in and now thinking about us living sooner makes me sad" she said with a pout.
I patted her back lightly " Take heart dear"
" So listen up" our attention went back to granny Joanne. She was almost done calling the names a funny enough all of them were a member of this pack.
Ashley turned to look at me " why did she call us here when she knows that the maid will be members of this pack?"
I shrugged " I don't know " I was eager to go back to my room. All this wasn't my problem right now, all I want now is my bed, and funny enough I was missing the king's bed already. Stop it, Mel, wolf scolded.
I blocked all the announcements and was in my world that I didn't hear when Ashley was calling my name. All I heard was a loud sound on my arm. She hits me.
I glared at her " why did you hit me like that?"
Ashley rolled her eyes " your name is on the list " she said with wide eyes.
I furrowed my brows confused " What list?"
" The maids going to leave in the main house," she said sharing my shocked look.
" You're kidding right?"
She scoffed " why would I be lying? Believe me, I'm serious about it "
" Yes, Melissa your name is on the list " granny Joanne said from nowhere.
" But why?" I couldn't believe " I don't want to go, please help me granny Joanne" I pleaded.
Others kept looking at me as if I was crazy. I know a lot are dying for this opportunity but not me. I don't want to go, I've promised myself that I'll stay far away from the king so why is this happening now?
" I wish I have a solution to this Miss Melissa. Sorry, this is an order from the king himself "
