Chapter 218 The Deranged God
Qi Xia stepped forward, one step at a time, raising the dagger in his right hand.
Black Tortoise glanced at him coldly and also raised her right hand. With a gentle clench of her fist, something appeared in her grasp—it was a finger.
Qi Xia froze for a moment, feeling a sudden chill in his left hand. He looked down and saw that the index finger on his left hand had been severed.
It throbbed with intense pain, but not a single drop of blood spilled.
He slowly raised his left hand to inspect it. The finger had clearly been cut by something, the cross-section clean and visible, yet the blood inside seemed locked in place, not a drop escaping.
“What strange powers…” Qi Xia sneered. “How absurd. Are you people really {Gods}?”
“How audacious,” Black Tortoise said, clenching her fist again. Another finger appeared in her hand.
Qi Xia realized that the person before him didn’t even need to touch him to sever his fingers one by one from a distance. The sensation was excruciating.
Black Tortoise, upon hearing this, casually tossed the two fingers in her hand to the ground as if they were mere trash, then swept aside the long hair obscuring her face.
Qi Xia was struck by the fact that this woman was smiling.
"Aren't you afraid?" she asked.
"Afraid?" Qi Xia smiled faintly. "I'm about to kill you. Do you think I'm afraid?"
"Kill me...? You really intend to kill me?!" Black Tortoise nodded, her hair swaying with the motion of her head. "Excellent, excellent, come on, kill me, hurry up and kill me..."
Qi Xia gritted his teeth, took two quick steps forward, and plunged the dagger directly into Black Tortoise's chest.
But the sensation of the strike felt utterly unreal, it was as though the blade had sunk into a sandbag.
"Am I dead?" Black Tortoise asked.
Qi Xia steeled himself and twisted the dagger in his hand with force. Having died from this same strike before, he knew that even if he couldn't defeat Black Tortoise, he would at least make her suffer immensely.
But, just as before, the sensation of the strike felt strange.
Black Tortoise didn’t feel like a human; she felt more like a blade of grass. Her body was incredibly easy to pierce, yet it seemed hollow inside.
"Am I dead now?" Black Tortoise paused, asking in confusion.
Qi Xia felt a chill crawl up his back at her question, while, from a distance, Li Xiangling trembled in fear.
This woman was too bizarre.
Qi Xia knew that this might be his only chance. He had no choice but to try every method he could.
He pulled the knife out and aimed for Black Tortoise’s neck, thrusting forward once more.
The sensation remained the same—illusory, ethereal.
"Oh?" Black Tortoise blinked in surprise. "Is this what will bring my death?"
Qi Xia swallowed hard as he slowly withdrew the dagger, only to find a clear, visible wound on her neck, yet not a single drop of blood.
"Why am I not dead?" Black Tortoise asked.
"I..." Qi Xia felt as though he might be losing his mind. "Indeed... why aren't you dead?"
"Ah?!" Black Tortoise suddenly displayed an exaggerated expression of disappointment. "You can't kill me?!"
Qi Xia was completely at a loss.
This person had a knife driven into her neck and yet stood here, seemingly unaffected. What on earth was she?
"Is there no other way...?" Black Tortoise shouted in frustration. "Come on, think of something!!"
"I... I..." For the first time in {End Point}, Qi Xia felt genuine fear.
"How about stabbing the {eye}?" Black Tortoise asked.
"The eye...?" Qi Xia paused for a moment.
"Yes! Yes!" Black Tortoise nodded and raised her right hand. "This thing!"
As her words fell, an eyeball appeared in her hand. The eyeball continued to roll, as if it hadn't anticipated appearing here.
Meanwhile, Qi Xia's left eye could now see nothing but total darkness.
"Ah!!!" Qi Xia cried out in pain, clutching his eye. The intense agony nearly made him lose consciousness. "You madwoman..."
Every hair on his body stood on end. The sensation was truly terrifying.
Black Tortoise had promised him he would {embrace the torment of death}, and now, it seemed, that was no exaggeration.
"Oh! Apologies!" Black Tortoise hurriedly tossed the eyeball to the ground, looking panicked. "I forgot to hold back, but you can’t die yet—you still need to kill me!"
Qi Xia lifted his head, glaring with his empty left eye, and drove the dagger forcefully into her eye.
This move, it seemed, was effective.
Black Tortoise let out a howl of pain.
Qi Xia didn’t hold back. He pulled the dagger out and thrust it into the same spot again.
But oddly, this time, there was no scream.
Black Tortoise lowered her head in desolation, the dagger still lodged in her eye, making her look terrifying.
"Strange..." Black Tortoise blinked. As she did, her eyelid brushed past the dagger, slicing it in two.
Li Xiangling, in pure terror, covered her eyes. This whole scene was beyond frightening.
"I thought it would hurt a lot, but it didn't," Black Tortoise muttered blankly. "So the eyes aren’t effective either?"
Qi Xia gritted his teeth and pulled the dagger out. At that moment, Black Tortoise's eyeball had two deep, dark gashes, yet she remained completely unaffected.
She was akin to a lifeless mannequin in a store.
"How about... stabbing my {stomach}?" she mumbled, and to Qi Xia's horror, a bright red object appeared in her hand.
Qi Xia gagged, bile rising in his throat.
He knew his own {stomach} was gone.
Black Tortoise’s methods of killing were unlike anything he had ever encountered. No matter what kind of wound he sustained, not a drop of blood flowed.
Even if the wound was inside his body.
Qi Xia collapsed to his knees, feeling as though his life was in its final countdown.
"Hey!!" Outside the door, Qiao Jiajin shouted, "Are you in there, Swindler lad?! Open the door!"
Qi Xia knew that no matter what, he couldn’t open the door, or else Qiao Jiajin would fall victim to this woman’s torment as well.
"How about... {lungs}?" Black Tortoise tossed the {stomach} aside, then grasped a lung lobe in her hand.
"Monster..." Qi Xia felt his breathing become increasingly labored. "You monster..."
Black Tortoise slowly revealed an expression of deep disappointment. She crouched down and, with a pale arm extending from beneath her long hair, grabbed Qi Xia’s head by the hair. "Tell me... how can I die?"
"Ugh..." Qi Xia coughed up a mouthful of blood.
He raised his head, about to speak, when he suddenly noticed Li Xiangling standing behind Black Tortoise, holding a chair in her hands.
"No!! Don’t!!" Qi Xia shouted, causing Li Xiangling to jump in fear.
"Qi... Qi ge..." Li Xiangling looked at him with terror in her eyes. "Why?"
"Don’t throw your life away..." Qi Xia said painfully. "Just watch. She won’t harm you..."
