The smell of sang smoke and fresh lamb instantly enveloped us, dispelling the raw stench from before, and she finally felt like she could breathe a little easier.

A woman in Tibetan attire came over, menu in hand, and a teapot—the local specialty, brick tea—in the other.
“What would you two like to eat?” the Tibetan woman asked in less than standard Mandarin.
Wen Xian grabbed the menu with saliva nearly dripping from her mouth, her cravings evident as she ordered enthusiastically, “Braised yellow lamb, hand-grabbed lamb, flag-flower noodles, triple-cream stew, roasted naan, and a bowl of beef offal soup!”
Having said that, she looked over at Lu Xiao.
Lu Xiao’s order was much simpler, “A large bowl of spicy noodle soup, please.”
“Sir, is just one bowl of noodles enough for you?”
The Tibetan woman, with a long braid hanging down to her chest and a hint of highland flush on her face, was fairly attractive.
As she noted down the dishes, she kept glancing at him, repeatedly catching his eye.
That look clearly contained some additional meanings.
Her eyes instantly narrowed dangerously, what the hell!

The next second, she suddenly coughed loudly.
The Tibetan woman smiled and left with the menu.

As she spoke, her eyes sneakily darted toward him.
Lu Xiao’s face remained unfazed as he unzipped his jacket and smoothly took it off, remarking, “I wouldn’t know, I didn’t notice.”
At his words, Wen Xian’s eyes lit up, and she finally broke into a pleased smile.
She immediately took the initiative to pour him tea eagerly.
Lu Xiao picked up his phone, seemingly messaging someone; his screen was on WeChat.
When Wen Xian pushed the tea toward him, she quickly glanced at the screen, feeling a tickle of curiosity within.

Wen Xian also took out her phone, opened WeChat, and looked back at Lu Xiao’s phone with a sly gaze.
She kept her eyes glued to his phone screen.
Lu Xiao was messaging Ga Zhuo to check on progress, and upon seeing that all was going well, he was about to put down his phone.
However, he seemed to notice something and his movement paused momentarily.
When he slowly looked up, he saw her staring at his phone.
Lu Xiao put it down, “What, planning to steal my phone?”
As soon as he said that, Wen Xian coughed once and averted her gaze, then spoke with feigned sincerity,
“That’s rude to say, Lu Xiao. Here I am thinking, we’re in unfamiliar territory, should we exchange contact information or something, like phone numbers, WeChat, you know.”
