CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR
GABRIELLE

"Gabby! My daughter!" Mother cried as her arms swept around me, she embraced me so tightly as though I was going to vanish.
"I'm here, mom" I whispered allowing myself to breathe in her most familiar maternal smell.
"I didn't tell you because I thought I should surprise you."
She pats my hair and broke the embrace to smile down at me. Her eyes shifted to Lucian who was standing quietly the whole time and she allowed her gaze to scan me over once again.
"Are you alright?" She squeezed my hands. I nodded positively.
"Don't I look fine to you?"
I could easily have turned out worse, I thought silently.
I couldn't believe how close to getting caught I almost got. I thought that removing the pill from the drug packaging and putting them inside an unlabeled bottle had been the safest way to hide them because even if Lucian saw it, he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and my normal health pills, I couldn't believe that my idea had saved me today, but it had been so close.
"Lucian! You should have told me you were coming, I could have made better arrangements to receive you!"
My father descended the stairs and extended his hand towards Lucian for a shake.
Both my parents didn't seem like they age a bit, it makes me remember that it's only been a few months since I left home, it sure feels like it has been years.
"It's only for a few days, I'm here to handle some business matters, it was my wife who wanted to come here." Lucian replied smoothly.
While they started to discuss matters relating to business, I used the opportunity to make my escape.
I walked upstairs and opened the door to my old room. I stepped inside and was surprised to see that nothing changed, not even the way I used to keep my flip-flops beside my bed.
I opened the wardrobe to find my old clothes neatly folded and arranged, it almost felt as though I hadn't left.
Almost.
I was no longer the girl from a few months ago, I would admit that this place did not provide the comforting feeling I thought it would, if anything, I felt all out of place. I didn't realize how much my life has changed, how Lucian has changed my life, until this very moment.
I opened the drawer and was surprised to see my old phone along with some of the last photos I had taken.
"I never changed the way you liked it, I've always held hope that I was going to see you soon." I heard mom's voice and immediately turned around. She had tears in her eyes, but it wasn't one of joy, it was of sorrow and regret.
"Do you blame me? That I should have tried harder to help you, if you had left with that boy maybe you could have been happier..." She trailed off.
Mentioning Derek now seemed like another lifetime to me, I might have thought that I loved him then but that was because I was too naive.
"I'm happy mom, I'm happy with Lucian..." I started to say but if anything she looked even more sad.
"You don't have to lie so that I won't worry, I'm your mother, you shouldn't hide your pains from me, even if I can't make it all go away, I can at least share it with you."
This time I squeezed her arm reassuringly.
"You are wrong, although I still haven't figured out everything about him, it's no longer as bad as it seems."
I didn't add that I doubt I would ever get to know Lucian fully, I only knew that he could sometimes scare the shit out of me, and other times he could make me feel like I was his most treasured person, one that he couldn't lose. But he was human too, I had seen that when he cried for our baby, he was still too complicated which is why I plan on taking it one step at a time.
"And of course, I don't blame you, do you know that Derek wasn't as simple as I thought?"
She stared at me questioningly and I continued.
"He has been a spy beside dad for so long, he's working with the enemies, the Russians." I completed.
This time, I saw a flicker of emotion pass through mom's eyes, she even turned a bit paler and I didn't think it was because my news was too shocking.
She enveloped me into another tight hug and I could feel the tremor going through her. Why was she suddenly so upset?
"What's wrong?" I whispered.
"You have to forgive me, I didn't know about it earlier." She said
"What didn't you know mom?" Her silence made my heart pound with a sudden fear of the unknown.
She broke the hug, looking very complicated.
"I'm sorry, I can't say it and it will be better if you don't know about it."
Why did she pique my curiosity if she didn't what me to know about it? I started to ask her again but was interrupted when Phoebe appeared in the doorway.
"I heard you came back, I didn't think it's true." She walked in.
"Gabby, you and your sister haven't seen each other for so long, I'll leave you both to catch up with each other." I stared at mom as she walked out. What had she been about to say? Why had she looked so upset and regretful and it was only after I mentioned Derek.
Did she know something that I don't? I pondered.
"You seem to be alive and in one piece. You are lucky" Phoebe commented. I had almost forgotten why I disliked her, well I remember now.

Somehow, I must have fallen asleep, only to be awakened by the feel of something soft against my neck. The touch came again and my sleepy eyes darted open when I felt something nip at my lower jaw. My eyes widened slightly when they met Lucian's intent gaze. I felt my heart skip when they flashed with gentleness. He stared at me for a moment longer before he dipped his head to capture my lips. His lips were soft and gentle, even though the fingers that held my jaw were firm.
We stayed like this for a while, lips moving against each other.
He pulled away slightly, resting his head against mine, I could feel his warm minty breath.
It didn't skip my notice that this was the closest we've been ever since that night in the bathroom. For some reason, he had avoided touching me, even when my injuries had been healed and now my whole body craves his touch.
Keeping his gaze captive, my hands traveled to cup his chin, initiating a second kiss. I allowed my tongue to move across his, exploring and allowing myself to be drunk with his taste. I ran my palms freely over his broad shoulders and firm walls of his chest, he allowed me to toy with him for a few moments before grabbing both my arms, caging them over my head, taking complete control.
He worked furiously to get rid of our clothes, trailing wet kisses down to my chest. I moaned when his mouth covered a breast, sucking on the nipple, another moan escaped my mouth when he blew air on it, causing my body to tighten in arousal. His searching hands found their way between my legs and my breath hitched in my throat.
"Lucian..." I whimpered when he parted my folds, rubbing deliciously at my most sensitive spot.
He pulled back a bit to watch my face as his fingers continued their pleasurable torture.
His thumb flicked against my sensitive nub while his index finger slipped into the wetness gathering there. The intense sensation almost had me buckling out of the bed.
Another whimperish moan escaped my throat when he added another finger, slowly pumping them in and out of me.
"Just let it come, I'll make you feel real good." He murmured against the valley between my breasts.
I moaned softly as the low tremble started within me, my body felt like it was on fire, every muscle was tensed. Then the intense bolt of pleasure shot straight from my core.
"Lucian!" I cried, gripping his shoulders as my body continued to spasm.
"So responsive, such a good girl." He whispered, nuzzling my breasts. I was still lost in the moment when he thrusts into me without warning, his mouth swallowed my cry, kissing me hard before biting hard on my lips. I moaned at the pain which soon transformed into a whimper of need as he started to thrust rhythmically into my wet core.
"I will be your last and only memory of this place!" He thrusts hard.
I moaned loudly, uncaring if anyone would hear us, I could feel the pressure starting to build up again.
"You are mine, Brie, say it!" He demanded.
"I'm yours!"
Satisfied with my answer, he continued to fuck me hard and fast, the sound of our bodies joining loud in my quiet room. My entire world shattered once again, at the same time, he stilled, shuddering as he spilled his seed inside me.
It was silent as we both fought to catch our breaths.
He tucked me beside him gently and I was out like a light in a few minutes.
