System's POV Chapter 1250

Somewhere in the multiverse... A red-headed Half-Elf looked at his sleeping daughter with a calm expression. But deep inside, a raging storm brewed.. When Maple and Cinnamon had returned carrying Stella, who had seemed only a step away from dying, he hadn’t hesitated to use his powers to heal her. He had succeeded and ensured that her life would no longer be in any danger. And yet, she had still not woken up. Since that day, the Half-Elf had stayed by his daughter’s side, holding her hand and waiting for her to open her eyes. The only time he left her side was when his wives forced him to rest by swapping places with him to watch over the young lady, who slept peacefully. None of them knew when she was going to wake up. He even used his Dream Walking ability, but only saw darkness inside her head. Stella wasn’t dreaming. There was no way for the Half-Elf to rouse her from her sleep, the thought of which made him feel depressed. He possessed immense power, yet he felt completely helpless as someone he treasured lay there, eyes still closed. Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door. "Come in," the Half-Elf said. An old man entered. He was none other than James, whom Thirteen had met in the past. "Gramps, isn’t it about time you tell me what happened?" the Half-Elf asked with barely restrained anger. "Who did this to my daughter?" "Calm down, Will," James replied. "I just finished my investigation. The culprit responsible for what happened to Stella is already dead... or, at least, has already entered the cycle of reincarnation." "I see," William answered. "So his soul is in Hell, right?" "Yes," James answered. The Half-Elf then moved to kiss his daughter’s forehead before standing up. "Stay with her, Gramps," William said. "I’m going on a quick trip to Hell." "I advise you not to go there, Will," James stated. "I already visited there a while ago to get the full story from that person. I double-checked his memory, and Stella deliberately blocked his path, fully understanding that she wasn’t a match for him." "Gramps, listen to me," William said as he stared at his grandfather. "Do I look like I care about his excuse?" "You don’t," James replied with a sigh. "Fine, go. I’ll look after Stella." William didn’t hesitate to leave the room and head straight to hell. His daughter had left their home, insisting she wanted to look for a way to regain the colors that she had lost. Since she had been determined to leave, the Half-Elf hadn’t stopped her. He had wanted to respect her decision. But when she had returned in that near-death state, something inside of him had almost snapped. "I’m going to get into the bottom of this," William declared as he made his way toward hell. He wanted to know why his daughter had done such a thing. Stella might be young, but she had a good head on her shoulders. She would not easily throw herself into the jaws of danger without a valid reason. He had tried to interrogate the Wren, Aethon, whom he had tasked to protect his daughter. But bound by a promise to Stella, the giant bird had refused to say anything. Left with no choice, he had also asked his twin daughters, Maple and Cinnamon, to take him to the world where their sister had gotten injured. However, the twins had refused, telling him that if they were to allow him to go there, he might pick a fight against their Big Brother. The two adorable dwarves were firm in their decision and refused to budge despite his repeated promises that he would not kill their so-called Big Brother. "I don’t know who you are," William said coldly. "But I will find you, even if you run to the edge of the multiverse." "Achoo!" Thirteen sneezed and instinctively wiped his nose with his hand before raising it to Douglas Griffin for a handshake. The Monarch of the Griffin Clan looked at the teenage boy’s outstretched hand before coughing lightly. "It’s fine. Drop the formalities," Douglas said quickly before sitting down. "I just came here to ask you about what happened in Antares. You came back so quickly, so I was worried that you weren’t able to find any reinforcements for your expedition to Artem." Thirteen lowered his hand and took his seat before telling Douglas what happened. For origınal chapters go to 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝·𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖·𝕟𝕖𝕥 The Thrones of Cygni, namely the Patriarchs of the Lotte, Gates, and Bishop Clans accompanied Douglas because they were also curious about the result of Zion’s journey to Antares. "The matter has already been settled," Thirteen answered. "The Jinns in Antares agreed to fight in Artem." "How were you able to convince them?" Douglas asked. "Did Azrael kill all their leaders?" "No," Thirteen answered. "But his presence made them more willing to submit." Douglas and the others didn’t find this development strange. They also believed that Zion would have been able to overpower the Jinns in Antares, especially since a Celestial had been helping him. They were just surprised because it ended faster than they expected. Just like the rest of the Wanderers, Douglas had no intention of joining the war in Artem because he wanted to focus on rebuilding the destroyed cities, where the humans would live once again. However, that didn’t mean that he wasn’t interested in the upcoming war. He still wanted to know more about Zion’s plans as well as his preparations. When they found out that there was actually a Majin Queen in Antares, the expressions of Douglas and the Patriarchs of the Prestigious Families became serious. "Don’t worry, they agreed to participate in the war in Artem," Thirteen continued. "Also, I believe that none of them will be stupid enough to leave Antares after I had a nice... and long talk with them." "Then is it possible for us to reclaim some lands in Antares?" the Patriarch of the Gates Family, Liam Gates, asked. "I don’t think so," Thirteen answered. "I mean, it might be possible, but I didn’t think about that. For now, I am more inclined to help the Wanderers settle back in Rigel. The Earth Dragons and I have come to an agreement—they are willing to let the Wanderers reclaim a third of the continent. The teenage boy had already informed the Monarch of the Rigel Continent, Wendell Elrod, and his brother, Renz, about his agreement with the Earth Dragons. When they had heard about it, Wendell had teared up despite being a Monarch. He had then thanked Thirteen, feeling extremely grateful that his people would finally be able to reclaim more lands and live once more in their homeland. "My only regret is that I don’t have a granddaughter your age," Wendell had said to Thirteen in a teasing tone. "If I did, I would have asked her to marry you." Thirteen had felt tempted to say that he wasn’t interested. But since Wendell had no grandkids, he had decided to end the conversation tactfully by saying, "What a shame." Having a good relationship with the Monarchs was a good thing, so he didn’t want to be rude to them despite being the most influential person in Pangea right now. His chat with Douglas and the Thrones lasted for nearly half an hour before they finally left. Since Thirteen had decided to have dinner in the residence of the Succubus Royal Family, he had to make his own preparations as well. Knowing he’d likely wear simple clothes for the occasion if he got to pick, Erica and Princess Aracelle helped him pick a good suit to wear and even lovingly tied his necktie. The two ladies made sure that he would look presentable before he made his way to the city of the Succubus, which had become one of the most popular places in Cygni because many Wanderers visited it for a night of absolute pleasure.
