System's POV Chapter 1203

[Disclaimer: Some scenes are rated PG.] Black smoke rose from the place where her spell had exploded, but Morwen wasn’t finished just yet. Morwen hurled a fireball as big as a house, making sure it would annihilate anything it hit. An explosion rocked the plaza, sending molten rock flying in every direction. "Is he dead?" Theron asked after skidding a few meters away from the blast of Morwen’s spell. That was the question that all the members of the Hero Party wanted to ask. However, they feared hearing an answer they didn’t want. When the smoke finally dispersed, they saw a metallic sphere standing in the center of a crater where Morwen’s spell had exploded. The metallic sphere opened up as Thirteen unfurled his wings, looking perfectly fine, the sight of which made the faces of the Hero Party turn grim. It wasn’t only Queen Amara whom he wished to feel despair. He also wanted the Hero Party to feel helpless before he gave them the finishing blow. "Are all of you done?" Thirteen asked. "Monster," Morwen muttered, her hands trembling as she held her staff tightly. "That’s right." Thirteen nodded. "But you created this monster. And I’ll make sure you will regret meeting me in this lifetime. Thirteen then made a slicing motion with his hand. This content belongs to novel⚑fire.net A second later, a scream of pain made Neil, Medea, Morwen, and Sylas look in Theron’s direction. The Spearman had fallen face first onto the ground. But what caught their attention was the fact that his feet, all the way up to his knee, were still firmly planted on the ground. Morwen screamed as she hastily backed away in fright. Thirteen had sliced off Theron’s legs. But it didn’t end there. Thirteen once again made a slicing motion with his hand, and this time, Theron’s arms were cut off from his body. Blood gushed from his severed limbs, which should have resulted in death by blood loss. However, Medea acted quickly and grabbed one of Theron’s arms, planning to reattach it. "You can’t do that," Thirteen appeared beside Medea and grabbed Theron’s arm, casually throwing it at a burning building. He did the same for the Spearman’s other arm and two legs, ensuring Theron would be crippled for life. "Now, you can heal him." Patted Medea’s head as if she were a good girl doing a good thing. The Saintess almost recoiled from Thirteen’s touch, but she gritted her teeth and used her powers to stop Theron’s bleeding. As this was happening, Thirteen had moved once more, and this time, he reappeared right above Neil, his hand holding the back of the Hero’s head in a vice grip. "Lie down, son." Thirteen smashed Neil’s head on the ground, resulting in a crater two meters wide. Thirteen didn’t seem content with what he did, so he repeatedly slammed Neil’s head on the ground until his forehead had become a bloody mess. "What’s wrong?" Thirteen asked as he slammed Neil’s head on the ground for the umpteenth time, making the crater expand more and more. "Use that power of bullsh*t again—exclusive to damn Heroes like you. Do you perhaps need to charge with the power of friendship before another power up?" Without any hesitation, the System of Cannon Fodders grabbed Neil’s leg and threw him at Sylas. But instead of catching his friend, Sylas moved away, resulting in Neil crashing toward several buildings until he came to a stop. "Ooops." Thirteen sneered. "It looks like your friendship ended." With a single step, the young man reappeared beside Morwen. He then gave the Sorceress a slap on her right cheek, which sounded so crisp that Mist couldn’t help but clap from the side. "Don’t kill me!" Morwen pleaded after Thirteen slapped her left cheek to make it even. "I surrender! I’ll do anything you want. Just don’t kill me!" "Oh?" Thirteen’s lips curled up into a smirk. "You’ll do anything?" "Yes!" Morwen, who thought she finally found a chance to live, hugged Thirteen’s leg, pleading for mercy. "I’ll do anything!" However, she was already casting her next spell and unleashed it at point-blank range. "Burning Hands!" Morwen roared as flames burst out from her hands, covering Thirteen’s entire body. A hysterical laugh escaped her lips as she continued to increase the power of her flames, putting everything on the line in an act of desperation. Thinking that she had finally defeated the monster in front of her, Morwen finally sighed in relief. Unfortunately, this relief was short-lived. Thirteen, whose entire body was burning, reached out to hug her. "Ahhhhhhhhhh!" Morwen cried out in pain as the flames wrapped around her body. Although she was resistant to fire, being in close proximity to a burning body still made her scream in fear and pain. "Why?!" Morwen shouted. "Why aren’t you dying?!" The flames finally receded, and soon, she came face to face with Zion’s half-melted face. But right underneath his scorched skin were pulsating muscles, crimson but not bleeding. Morwen’s body shuddered uncontrollably when she noticed the skin around his eyes regenerate at a rapid pace while he looked at her with an indifferent gaze. Thirteen was hugging her tightly, and a second later, he headbutted her, making the Sorceress collapse. "No! Don’t kill me!" Morwen crawled away in desperation. "I don’t want to die!" Thirteen grabbed her hair and lifted her up from the ground, making her scream like a pig about to be slaughtered. "I’ll let you live if you stab that Archer over there," Thirteen whispered in Morwen’s ear. "Y-You will?" Morwen asked, no longer planning to use a sneak attack against the monster who had survived her spell at point-blank range. "Yes," Thirteen produced a dagger and handed it to Morwen. "Stab him a hundred times, and I’ll let you live. Don’t stab his heart on the first try, okay? I want to see him suffer." "O-Okay!" Morwen replied as if she were a death row convict absolved of her crimes. "Morwen, snap out of it!" Sylas shouted as he drew an arrow to his bow and aimed it at the Sorceress. "I don’t want to hurt you!" Morwen scoffed and waved her hand. "Telekinesis!" Sylas body rose from the ground and slammed to the house beside him. The Sorceress didn’t hold back and ran in his direction, holding the dagger like a crazed woman who only wanted to stab her enemy. The Ranger had suffered many injuries, so he couldn’t stand right away after getting slammed into a solid wall with Morwen’s telekinesis spell. What really hurt him wasn’t the pain he received after getting slammed on the wall, but the pain of betrayal from the person he loved. Yes. Sylas was in love with Morwen. But now, the person he loved had sat on his chest, both of her hands gripping the handle of a dagger aimed at his body. "Sylas, you love me, right?" Morwen laughed hysterically. "Do you really think I don’t notice the heated gaze you used to look in my direction? Your lecherous gaze that was aimed at my chest most of the time? "I know I’m beautiful. Much more than Medea, so its only normal you’ve fallen in love with me. So, Sylas, can you die and let me live? You’ll die for me, right?" Tears streamed down Sylas’ eyes as he looked at the woman that he loved. However, before he could even give his reply, Kate had already stabbed his right shoulder, which he used to hold his bow. "Argh!" Sylas shouted in pain. "You b*tch! How dare you?!" "You dare?!" Morwen, who was already half-crazed, slammed her palm on Sylas’ chest and cast a paralyze spell, making the young man unable to defend himself. "You dare call me a b*tch, you pathetic man who can’t even kill that monster?! Die!" Morwen repeatedly stabbed Sylas’ body. His arms, his shoulders, his chest, his legs, his feet. When she ran out of things to stab, she started to cut off his fingers and ears, her eyes filled with madness. Medea couldn’t bear to look at her friend who now looked like a terrifying witch, no longer the proud, righteous sorceress she once was. At that moment, he heard Theron say something. "Kill me!" Theron begged. "Kill me, Medea! Don’t make me suffer. Kill me quickly! I don’t want to die in that monster’s hand!" "You don’t want to die in my hand?" Thirteen suddenly appeared beside Theron and Medea, which made the Saintess tremble in fear. "Fine with me." He then grabbed Theron’s hair and tossed him to where Morwen was stabbing Sylas in a frenzied manner. "Morwen, stab that guy too," Thirteen ordered. "Or better yet, skin him alive. Can you do that?" "Hahahaha! Skin... yes! Skinning alive sounds fun!" Morwen’s crazed laughter spread in the plaza as she continued to stab Sylas, who died in grief at the hands of the woman he loved.
