System's POV Chapter 1167

When Thirteen fought against Lucan, the former Artemian Commander also had an artifact that allowed him to teleport away. Admittedly, artifacts with this kind of ability were both troublesome and annoying to deal with, especially when used by powerful enemies. They were already hard to deal with individually, yet they often escape at the last moment and come back strong after recovery, just like a pesky cockroach. "Damn those bastards!" Carl cursed as he slashed a Dragonkin in half with his sword. "Damn it!" He felt frustrated because if not for the intervention of others, he would have already killed the Dragonkin Prince, which would have tilted the battle in their favor. Unfortunately, he was forced to flee because he was at a great disadvantage in fighting four strong enemies. Carl had teleported to a place where the battle was quite intense between the low-ranking Artemians and the low-ranking Jinns. As luck would have it, Harahon was also there. Originally, he planned to sneak attack the Artemian who suddenly appeared out of nowhere. But when he sensed how strong Carl was, the Umbrafang immediately retreated, deeming that killing the Artemian was not possible! Fortunately for Harahon, Carl had no intention of dealing with all the small fries that surrounded him from all sides. He simply killed, killed, and killed some more while distancing himself from the center of the battlefield. He wanted to go somewhere safe to recover, but there were too many small fries blocking his path. In the end, he was forced to kill his way out of the battlefield, leaving behind a trail of dead bodies in his wake. Just as he thought that he was now safe from harm, he once again sensed the presence of Prince Aurelion, who was now flying in his direction! ’H-How?!’ Carl gritted his teeth as he parried the spear thrust that the Dragonkin Prince had unleashed in his direction. The two exchanged a few blows with each other, which was enough for the Prince to understand that his opponent had gotten slower, and his attacks had gotten weaker as well. ’I can win!’ Prince Aurelion thought as he unleashed a barrage of spear thrusts, landing a few solid hits that drew blood. Out of desperation, Carl used his right thumb to rub the ring on his index finger, activating the spell imbued in it. Once again, the Artemian disappeared with a flash of light, leaving Prince Aurelion fuming. After half-heartedly killing the Artemians around him as he forcefully calmed himself down, his mood stabilized, and he waited for Zion’s notification. By the time he had killed five Artemians, his communicator finally rang, and Zion’s voice reached his ears. "He is two miles away at three o’clock. I believe this is the last time he can use teleportation." Knowing that time was of the essence, Prince Aurelion flapped his wings and soared towards the sky, following the teenage boy’s direction. He still had a lot of things he wanted to say to Zion, but he kept them inside his heart because now was not the time to discuss these things. It didn’t even take a minute before the Dragonkin Prince saw Carl, who was desperately flying away over the horizon. Since he was injured, his flying speed was slower, allowing Prince Aurelion to close up the distance. "You can run, but you can’t hide!" Prince Aurelion shouted. "Accept your death, Artemian!" Carl’s eyes widened in disbelief as he turned his head to see the Dragonkin Prince closing in on him like a golden comet. He couldn’t understand how his opponent could find him in such a short period of time. He had already used up the limit of his Ring of Teleportation, which should have allowed him to escape the battlefield safely. Unless a Majin Prince came to find him, no one on the battlefield would be able to kill him. And yet, for the second the damnable dragon, whom he had almost killed during their fight, was hounding him like a rabid dog, who planned to bite him to death! "Damn lizard!" Carl spat blood as he summoned a longsword from his storage ring. For more chapters visit NovєlFіre.net Since escaping was impossible, he was left with only one choice—to fight. Prince Aurelion’s spear collided with Carl’s sword, producing sparks that illuminated the sky. The Dragonkin’s golden flames wrapped around his weapon, threatening to burn away the last defenses of the injured Archon. "You’re finished!" Aurelion roared as he unleashed a barrage of thrusts, each one sharper and faster than the last. Carl parried, blocked, and even counterattacked, but his movements were sluggish. His burned arms trembled with every impact, and each clash pushed him back further and further across the sky. ’Damn it... I can’t keep this up!’ Carl thought bitterly as his blood dripped down the hilt of his sword. From below, Thirteen’s calm voice echoed in Prince Aurelion’s mind. Evuvug was currently inside Rocky, so telepathic messages were possible, preventing the enemy from catching the teenage boy’s words. "Drive him downward. Don’t let him escape again. We will help you kill him!" "Understood." Aurelion’s golden eyes burned with determination. The Dragonkin flapped his wings once, creating a shockwave that propelled him forward at great speed. Carl barely raised his sword to defend, but the impact sent him spiraling down, crashing through a ridge and slamming into the earth with a deafening boom. The ground split apart, smoke and dust rising like a wall between him and the heavens. Khan, Lord Zorca, and Rocky immediately advanced, surrounding the crater where Carl had landed. "He’s cornered," Lord Zorca muttered with a cruel grin. "This time, he won’t crawl away." Carl emerged from the pit, coughing blood, but his eyes were still burning with hatred. His once-proud armor was now in tatters, his body covered in wounds. Yet even in such a state, his aura flared violently, like a beast refusing to die. "Don’t... underestimate me!" Carl growled, his voice hoarse but filled with venom. "I am Carl, Weapon Master of Artemia! You think a few scratches and tricks will be enough to kill me?!" He raised his cracked sword, black energy swirling around it. The weapon trembled, as if it could barely handle the power he was forcing into it. Thirteen’s eyes narrowed. "He’s about to unleash a self-destructive technique. Don’t let him complete it." Prince Aurelion’s wings spread wide, golden flames swirling into a blazing inferno around his spear. "This is your end, Artemian!" The Dragonkin Prince dived once more, his weapon aiming straight for Carl’s heart. "I’ll take you to the afterlife with me!" Carl roared as his body turned bright red. Prince Aurelion could no longer turn back, so despite the danger, he didn’t stop his attack, trusting that his body could tank the Weapon Master’s suicide attack. Somewhere in the battlefield, a powerful explosion similar to a nuclear strike rumbled in full. Everyone fighting in the battlefield could see the brilliant red mushroom cloud that rose up in the sky. It was a sign, telling everyone that another battle between two powerhouses had ended. No one knew which side managed to kill who, but their momentary shock soon faded as they once again continued their own life and death battles against the foes, who were doing everything they could to survive this war.
