System's POV Chapter 1118

"Is everyone ready?" Prince Aurelion asked. "They’re now waiting for your order, Your Highness," Dravon replied. "Good. Tell them to advance." Countless Dragonkins rose to the sky as the war drums were beaten. Other Jinns had also been mobilized, all of them headed in one direction—to Casimir City. According to Commander Dravon’s report, none of the scouts they had sent to spy on their enemies had returned, which only meant one thing... They had died doing their mission, proving that their enemies shouldn’t be underestimated. The report mentioned that the Death Bat, who had captured Princess Zia, was allied with the Wanderers and had taken Casimir City as his base. Prince Aurelion had to admit, the Death Bat was stronger than he was. But that didn’t matter. The Death Bat was alone. He would be no match against the Dragonkin Army, which had two Majin Princes and a Majin Princess. Not to mention, their soldiers numbered in the hundreds of thousands. It was an army made for conquest, and they were confident that they would be the true victors of this war between the Wanderers and the Artemians. Lucan’s death had crippled the Artemians, making the Jinns more confident of their victory. Of course, with all their scouts failing to do their part, they had yet to learn that the Artemians had lowered their pride and sought an alliance with the Wanderers to have a chance of victory. A few hours later, Casimir City was within sight, prompting the Jinn Army to slow its advance by a bit. Prince Aurelion and Dravon were confident of their victory. But they weren’t stupid. Overconfidence could lead to unexpected losses. Although they didn’t want to admit it, they wanted to thank the phenomenon that caused all technological devices and equipment to stop working. Because of this, the Wanderers and the Artemians lost their trump cards, which had threatened the Jinns more times than they could count. Prince Valen, Prince Xylen, Prince Zorren, and Lady Ristella looked at the city in the distance. They had mixed feelings about attacking. In their mind, they thought that, if not for Prince Aurelion’s arrival, the Jinns would have already formed an alliance with the Wanderers. However, just as Prince Aurelion was about to command an attack, they saw a giant moth fly in their direction from the south. When Lady Ristella saw this, she exclaimed and didn’t hesitate to fly in the direction of the giant Moth. Mounted behind its back were Princess Xynalia and Princess Laventia, who had gone missing for a very long time. Seeing the two succubus princesses, the Dragonkin Prince temporarily halted his order to attack and flew in their direction. However, he became disappointed when he didn’t see Zia with the two princesses, making him frown. "Where is Zia?" Prince Aurelion asked even before Lady Ristella could talk to her nieces. "She’s still with the Death Bat," Princess Xynalia replied. "When Camazotz interrogated the scouts spying in Casimir City, they divulged the attack that would be coming in a few days. "When my sister learned of it, she pleaded with the Death Bat to have us released in exchange for her following him without any resistance." Upon hearing her reply, Prince Aurelion looked dissatisfied. However, he then asked the most important question. "Where are they now?" Prince Aurelion asked. "They escaped to the north," Princess Xynalia answered. "They know they are no match against our combined might, so they chose to flee." "Cowards." Prince Aurelion glared in the direction of the North. "When did they flee?" "A day ago," Princess Xynalia replied. "Understood." Prince Aurelion nodded. The Dragonkin Prince returned to his Dragon Mount without giving a second glance to the two princesses, who had returned without the person that he wanted to see the most. Since that was the case, he would chase the fleeing Jinns with everything in his power. "Nagas, use your power to find their tracks," Prince Aurelion ordered. "Dravon, send some of our people to double-check if there are any stragglers in the city." "Yes, Your Highness!" Dravon ordered. They were not so gullible as to believe Princess Xynalia’s words at face value. There was a chance that some Jinns were hiding in the city, simply waiting for them to leave before coming out once more. The Jinns who could burrow underground also moved to inspect under the city, making sure that no underground tunnels were created to hide their enemies. Three hours later, a full sweep of the city had been made, and just as the Princess had told them, not a soul remained behind. It wasn’t that hard to find traces of the movements of those who fled to the north since their footprints were left behind. However, this made Prince Aurelion and Dravon suspicious, so they employed the Nagas, who were well known for their tracking magic. "There are three traces left behind," the Naga Patriarch said after carefully reading the signs of magic in the surroundings. "All the Jinns that are capable of flight flew to the west, while those who can only travel on land headed north. "There are also signs that the Knolls, whom His Highness has ordered to scout this city, have headed northwest. It is safe to say that they have split their forces for a purpose. Those who headed west numbered less than five thousand at most. They all have the ability to fly, making them very mobile." Prince Aurelion frowned. "So the Jinns heading to the North are distractions?" "I cannot confirm or deny it, Your Highness," the Naga Patriarch replied. "I only know what I saw." Prince Aurelion shifted his attention to Dravon, who was the Commander of his Army. "What do you think, Commander?" Prince Aurelion asked. "I think we should consider what our priority should be, Your Highness," Dravon replied. "If we are just going to eliminate the bulk of their army, heading north is the right choice. However, I am very curious about the ones who flew to the West. "If I were in their position, I would also prioritize escaping if I knew winning was impossible. However, that doesn’t mean that I cannot conduct guerrilla tactics to devastate the enemy ranks." Prince Aurelion nodded because he was thinking of the same thing. "I also think those headed West are elites meant to attack us," Prince Aurelion stated before returning his gaze to the Naga Patriarch. "Say, can you tell if someone very powerful went to the west? Someone who has the same strength as me." He didn’t want to say the words "someone stronger than me" because that would make him feel inferior. The Naga Patriarch nodded and once again used his tracking magic to check the density of magic that headed to the west. "There is indeed a powerful presence headed to the west," the Patriarch replied. "But there’s not only one. There are two of them. I believe that there are two Majin Princes who headed west." Prince Aurelion and Commander Dravon exchanged a glance with each other. This was the first time they discovered they weren’t fighting against a single Majin Prince, but two at the same time. "They might have taken their elite fighters with them to the west," Dravon said after careful consideration. "What do you think we should do, Your Highness?" "We will head west," Prince Aurelion answered without hesitation. "Tell everyone to advance." The Prince believed that wherever the Death Bat was, Princess Zia would also be. Since that was the case, there was no use in chasing the Jinn Army that headed north. Their target was clear, and as long as they were able to annihilate the elite forces of their enemies, they would no longer have to worry about third parties joining their battle against the Wanderers and the Artemians in the future.
