Chapter 88
In recent days, mama has done nothing but take care of keeping an eye on Psyche and talking to Freya, which seems to be in agreement with her. At first it was awkward for the two of them to talk because mama looked like Psyche who also made our lives difficult for a few years but they also immediately reconciled with Freya and are almost inseparable now.
I just shook my head as I watched mama walk away before I turned my attention to Trevas walking closer to me. I raised an eyebrow when someone approached his daughters of nobles whom I often see looking at Trevas whenever there are parties here in the palace but I was shocked when Trevas ignored them and just walked straight towards me.
"Why don't you pay attention to them-"
"I want to show you something" he interrupted me before he grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me to where.
I just laughed and let him take me somewhere. We are now going to a part of the palace garden that is not very crowded. I don’t know where Trevas is going to take me and what kind of thing he wants to show me but he suddenly stopped walking when we were already in the middle of the cherry blossom trees.
In the middle of the trees there was a fountain that seemed to glow because of the light coming from the moon and on the floor we were stepping on were scattered hundreds of flowers coming from the cherry blossom trees.
This isn't the first time I've seen this part of the palace garden but I still can't help but be amazed every time I see it because of its beauty.
"Is this what you want to show me?" I asked while looking around. Like I said, this isn't the first time I've seen this part of the palace garden and I'm sure Trevas knows about it so I'm not sure if this is the thing Trevas wants to show me.
Trevas didn't say a word so I turned to look at him again and saw him smiling at me before shaking his head. I don't know why but there seems to be something strange in his smiles and stares.
My forehead furrowed because of that but shock changed my expression when he suddenly took my left hand and put a beautiful ring on it.
I held my mouth with my right hand and shifted my gaze from there to the ring and to his eyes which were both shining due to the reflection of the light coming from the moon.
"The king wants to hand over the throne to me" Trevas began, gently caressing my left hand. "Tonight, he will announce to the whole kingdom that it is time to hand over the kingship to me but before that…."
He looked up from my hands and stared me in the eyes.
"Alissa, let's get married"
I immediately nodded and I couldn’t stop my smiles. he touched me on the cheek before touching our lips. He wrapped his other arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him as if he was afraid I would suddenly disappear. It was as if he was afraid that I would suddenly disappear and realize that everything was just a dream.
I put my hands on both his shoulders and combed my fingers through his hair especially as he deepened the kiss.
I could feel the heat coming from him and I couldn’t help but tear my eyes because of the intensity of what I was feeling.
I don’t know how long we stayed in your position and felt the emotion we felt for each other as long as I knew we were almost caught up in the celebration because we didn’t realize the time.
That night, the king announced at all times that it was time to transfer the leadership to Trevas and at the same time the king also announced about the engagement of Trevas and me and said that others should not attempt to send their daughters to Trevas because he doesn’t eitherthey will be ignored.
That night, one of the happiest days of my life.
Our life became peaceful after all. Trevas was crowned king of Beifang and a month after that was the wedding of the two of us.
Mama spent the rest of her energy watching over Psyche and making sure she wouldn't get into trouble again while king henrick and freya decided to move away and live in a small manor in the middle of the forest like they had planned before if not onlyall the tragedy happened in their lives.
The palace became quieter because they left freya and especially when mama also passed away but the laughter of small children filled every hallway of the palace a year after Trevas and I got married.
We had three children who took over the space left by those who lost us. The eldest and the second will grow up while the youngest will be our little princess whom we named Luke, Hermes and Lina.
The three of us passed on the story of the heroism of the people from whom their name originated and made sure that their memory would live on for a long time.
Years passed and I lived for a long time and made the most of every moment of my life for the sake of those who laid down their lives for the good of the world.
And in the last moments of my life, with the rest of my loved ones. I can say that I can now face the afterlife and the new beginning that destiny has in store for me.
