Chapter 21
Throughout the night I didn't open the door after I entered. I was dressing up for work which I planned to fumigate the room since I saw an insect yesterday. I came out of my room after dressing up which inform one of the maids to fumigate my room before I come back, so here I am sitting all alone in the dinning table eating since Mrs Vivian is not around to join me, she traveled out for one of her photo shoot again which make me to wonder all the time maybe she don't get exhausted with all the trips or she just enjoy traveling out for sight seeing which i don't think I can do that because like seriously I'm not a fan of traveling out up and down or maybe perhaps is because I'm not that privileged to be traveling around. Almost done with my food when he ambled into the dinning area which I immediately stood up and leave because if I spent any more minute he will start a conversation with me which I'm not in the mood or ready for any of his noise. I went out and saw the chauffeur already waiting for me, I greeted him before I entered the car and he took me to my work place.
Upon arrival I started my work, have been left behind with my work because I easily get exhausted which Mrs Adams told me not to rush things which I'm taking my time to work gradually since I have no other work again apart from these one and can freely take some work home so I could keep my busy even at home. I was so engrossed in my work that I didn't know that it was time for a break until I heard a knock on my table and I raised my head to see Sam smiling at me with snacks in his hands which I knew were definitely for me. Ever since my pregnancy Sam has been making sure I eat on time and I don't miss any meal which is why he's always checking on me to see if I have eaten or brought a snack for me.
"Sam" I called his name happy to see him
"Yes, Lilly. You're so engrossed in your work that you didn't come out for break which have been waiting for you to come outside but you didn't, so here I am with your break since you don't want to be cautious and take care of yourself"
"Awwn thank you Sam, I didn't know it's break time I just don't know what I will do without you close by"
"Always welcome. Now eat your food I don't want you to starve, you're not alone"
"I will do just that now" I said, giving him the other chair "Here seat close to me" I said, showing him the chair which he sat down on and watched me eat my food peacefully. I offered him some but denied it saying he has eaten already which I'm sure he hasn't. When I was done eating I cleared the table and clean it though Sam insisted he will do it
"Thank you Sam"
"Okay Lilly do take care I will be leaving now see you when we close"
"Okay Sam, let me see you off"
"No no" he said quickly "just rest for awhile and I will come get you when it's closing time" he said leaving which I shouted after him
"Bye Sam" I waved at him even though he's gone already. I'm just glad to have someone like Sam in my life as brother, father, friend and everything because he has done more than a friend to me which I can't repay him no matter how I tried rather I stay loyal to him till end

I'm preparing to leave so I arranged the things I won't be going home with and picked some that I will be going home with to complete knowing I will be bored . I know Sam is already waiting for me outside to come out so we could leave even though I told him not to come pick me up I can go home myself. When I walked out I saw him sitting inside his car I just know he will never change after my unending complain of him calling me whenever his outside but he prefers to wait for me outside so I can come out whenever I like
"Sam, why do you always like waiting for me when you can come in or call me?" I asked knowing the answer he will give me already
"I don't want to rush or disturb you that why" he replies
"But you should have called me then, atleast I won't waste much of your time"
"It's okay, hop in let me drop you"
"No" I said quickly which he was about to asked me when I speak "I will be going to your place first then will go home later in the night" I said entering inside the car but Sam was still looking at me as if have grown horn on my head
"What, why the look?"I asked
"Is there something you're not telling me?" He asked back
"Don't worry Sam when we get home I will tell you everything. But right now just drive and let leave here already"
"If you say so. But immediately we arrived at home you will spill everything without leaving even a single thing out"
"I promise. So drive let's go" and he drove off. We arrived at his place but he didn't ask me anything, until he serve me food and when he sees I'm okay he looks at me without say anything which I know what that means I cleared my voice before speaking up "Sam I was sacked fro...."he did not allow me to continue with what I was saying before he intervene
"What? when and how?" He asked coming closer to me
"Yesterday Sam" I said weakly
"Explain everything to me in detail Lilly, what happened that you got sacked?" He asked worriedly
"My Boss is my crush and also the father to the child in my womb Sam"
"What?" He opened his mouth, not believing what I said. "But how come?" He asked again
"I was surprised too, Sam. I never knew he was my boss until yesterday"
"Like seriously but what is the reason behind him firing you or is there something you're not telling me?"
"You know I can't hide anything from you, just that they ask me to take a break for now until after my delivery then I can continue with my work, but I said no since that is not in the contract which he decided to take the decision on my behalf or rather showing me he has power over me"
"Am sorry Best, but you should've just taken the break to avoid all these problems. I wanted to tell you to do that since when I notice you get exhausted easily which I know it's the pregnancy that's causing it all"
"But Sam" I said about to complain but he didn't let me
"It's okay Lilly, nothing like but as long as they're willing to pay you then you have nothing to worry about. And moreover after the delivery you can get another work but for now just manage your fashion work and take care of your health and yourself"
"Okay Sam, I will do as you say. Thank you so much for always being there for me whenever I needed a shoulder to cry on"
"Your always welcome dear, so now go and freshen up and rest for a while you need it"
"Alright" with that I freshen up and lay on the bed, and immediately my body get in contact with the bed I slept off instantly

I wake up and freshen up before going out to see Sam arranging the table "seat here" he said immediately he finished setting the table
"Sam, don't you think you're over feeding me?" I asked
"No am not. You need to eat to gain strength for yourself and for the baby"
"But I ate before I slept"
"I know, but you need to eat. I don't want to see you stressing yourself out"
"Okay have heard you"
"Good so now eat the food before it gets cold" . I ate the food and enjoyed it because Sam is a good cook. I always look forward to eating his food whenever I'm in his place or he comes over without saying anything again. I ate the food. Done eating about to pack the dishes when Sam stop me
"Let your food digest, I can do it myself"Sam said packing the dishes to the kitchen which I sat comfortably on the chair
"Thank you Sam" I said immediately he came out of the kitchen
"You're welcome and do take care of yourself. Please don't over stress or think too much please"
"I won't I promise you"
"Alright then, get up let me drop you off" with that I pack my things before following him out to his car. We arrived shortly
"Make sure you eat something before going to bed" Sam said which I smile "Goodnight then"
"Night Sam" I waved at him as he drove out of the lane. I waited a little bit before I walked inside the house. The house is usually silent, so it's not a new thing for me to walk directly to my room and open it before entering without bothering to lock the door with a key, since I thought no one was around to bother me. I entered the toilet and changed into something more comfortable than what I was wearing before. I walked out and saw someone standing in my room. "What do you want?" I shouted "I thought I made it clear to you not to come close to me or what?"
"Lilly, give me a chance to explain myself" Charlie said coming inside
"A chance for what actually? I don't think we have anything binding us together apart from these'' I said showing him the baby bump that is out a little bit
"I know, but I want more apart from that"
"You're not serious. I think you're sick, please just leave me alone and go. I don't want more complicated issues or do you want your wife to sue me?"
"I promise she won't. And moreover she's not going to be aware of anything just give me a chance please" Charlie pleaded
"What if I inform her or what did you take me for?" I asked which he smile
"I know you won't dare do such a thing" he said confidently which annoyed me
"You're so full of yourself. Well for your information I'm not interested in you and I won't give you any chance. You can go somewhere else to get what you want"
"I know you're just saying all this because of my wife" I actually don't know what this man want from me, is he that his trying to use and dumb me or what. His driving me crazy which I'm going insane already. He has so much effect on me which I wish I never had a crush on him then things could've been better and his wife is someone who isn't always around to look after her him if she had always being around then I won't have a second thought to throw him out of my room because right now I'm beginning to feel something more than just being his crush which I know he's not helping matters telling me to give him a chance to have an affair with me. I'm regretting the reason why I came back to this house last night. I should have stayed back at Sam's place then he couldn't have seen me to say all these tempting things that made my heart want to accept him. He stood there looking at me
