Surprise! I've Transmigrated Again Chapter 296

The Freya Familia is powerful! How powerful? Even when their members are at odds and fight amongst themselves, they can still match the mighty Loki Familia in battle. And within their ranks stands the Level 7 King Ottar, who can subdue any top-tier Adventurer in the Labyrinth City with ease. Against a second-rate group like the Ishtar Familia — whose captain is merely Level 5 and currently occupied by Adam — victory was inevitable. These weaklings stood no chance. Ottar and his forces struck at their heart, crushing most of the Ishtar Familia's combat-capable Adventurers in one decisive blow. By the time explosions lit up the sky and drew attention, the battle was already over. "Lady Freya, are you truly going alone?" Ottar asked softly, concern for his Goddess evident in his voice, "Perhaps if I were to accompany you as guard—" "Ottar, eliminate the remaining stragglers." Freya's words cut through his protest, leaving no room for discussion. She appeared then as a majestic queen perched high in the clouds, while Ishtar seemed nothing more than a shortsighted village tyrant hiding in the mountains. "...Yes. But please be careful, since you insist on going alone." Ottar acquiesced. Yet even after Freya entered the Ishtar Familia's hall, he remained at his post, making no move to pursue the scattered remnants. He had both followed and defied her order — he had his principles. However... For the first time in his life, the usually fearless Ottar felt a pang of jealousy toward the young man inside who had captured his Goddess's attention. Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the hall grew tense. Two beautiful Goddesses — one fully naked, one half-naked — stood displaying their divine forms. A typical hero might have swooned at such a sight, but Adam only felt deeply uncomfortable, like an unfaithful husband caught by his wife. Despite Freya's smile, her fury was palpable, manifesting as dark mist that swirled around her. Adam was puzzled both by her presence and the intensity of her anger, but instinct told him to remain silent. Ishtar's eyes widened in shock. "Freya—?! Why are you here?" She demanded, glaring at the intruder with intense displeasure. This woman was her mortal enemy! They had just been plotting against her, and now here she stood before them — how could Ishtar not be enraged? "Ishtar, how dare you display yourself naked before a man? Where is your dignity as a Goddess?" "This is my territory. I'll do as I please. Who are you to lecture me?" Freya's quiet, suggestive tone only further irritated Ishtar, who saw no reason to hide her hostility. "What, I'm about to couple with him right here. Care to watch? I'll show you my skilled technique." Even now, Ishtar persisted in competing with Freya, refusing to be outdone at any cost! This was nothing less than a clash between the Mesopotamian and Norse Goddesses of Beauty! Sensing the dangerous tension between them, Adam retreated further. He could scarcely believe such crude words would come from a Goddess's mouth — and in front of another deity, no less — spoken without a shred of restraint. Ishtar truly had no shame! "Indeed... As expected, you're not qualified to remain in the lower world. It seems destroying your Familia was the right decision." Freya's words fell like a death sentence. To see this woman strip bare, attempting to seduce her beloved child—not summoning Ottar to eliminate her immediately already showed tremendous restraint. Yet Ishtar dared continue with her vulgar display, crossing Freya's final line. How could she not be sent back to heaven? "Y-you, what are you saying?! Freya, you actually started a war?!" Ishtar, no fool, immediately grasped the meaning behind these words. She stared in disbelief. "W-why?! Why would you do this!" "Why... Weren't you the one who always considered me your mortal enemy?" Freya replied softly, "Think about it — if someone threatens you, shouldn't you eliminate the danger early?" With her sweet, alluring voice, she spoke a truth Ishtar couldn't bear to accept. Exposed! This single thought consumed Ishtar's mind. It explained everything — the flames outside, Freya's presence, her intent to destroy the Familia! She had never imagined that being acknowledged as a rival would lead to her destruction. As Freya advanced, Ishtar stumbled backward. "No, no, no! You must be lying!" With these words, she turned and fled frantically toward the stairs. Though the outcome was sealed, Ishtar clung to a final glimmer of hope. She needed to see the truth from the highest point! Freya didn't stop her, simply watching her flee. Sometimes, torture brings more satisfying despair than swift destruction. To achieve this, Freya would slowly corner her prey until escape became impossible. She turned to look at the young man trying to hide in the corner. Adam Carter — this child she had taken a liking to. Though he had come to the Entertainment District driven by desire, Freya placed no blame on him. It was Ishtar's seduction that bore responsibility. Looking at this timid young man before her, she noted how different he seemed from his arrogant demeanor during the destruction of the Apollo Familia. The thought of having to pretend this was their first meeting stirred an unfamiliar sensation in her heart. This novel feeling was exciting. It fascinated her. "First time meeting you, Goddess Freya. I am Adam Carter." Adam introduced himself, head lowered. Something about meeting her gaze filled him with guilt. Fortunately, Freya showed him mercy. "Yes, as expected of a Hero, you're quite impressive." "I'm just stating facts." The two performed their roles perfectly, their eyes displaying Oscar-worthy sincerity. Freya gracefully approached Adam's side and extended her right hand. She carried herself like a noble lady — a true Goddess — while he assumed the role of her butler. The difference between her and Ishtar became even more apparent. Though both were Goddesses of Beauty, their bearing was worlds apart. A noble lady versus a common courtesan! Gently holding her delicate hand, he felt unfamiliar emotions stirring — sudden and uncontrollable sensations beyond his conscious control. It was Charm Magic. Unlike Ishtar's, Freya's Charm possessed far greater potency. Even with his will strengthened by Ambrosia, he could fall under its spell without constant vigilance. "Indeed, you're quite impressive." Freya drew close to him. Yet despite their intimacy, they maintained a careful distance — the perfect balance of near yet far. "What did you think of Ishtar's naked form?" Freya's words set off alarm bells in Adam's mind. Though uncertain of this fellow Goddess of Beauty's intent, his survival instinct guided his response. "Not worth looking at. Whether in appearance or manner, she's far inferior to you." "Mm, you speak true." Freya was satisfied with his answer. "So, don't look at her — that fallen creature. She's beneath you." T/N: Hey!
