Then, with a frown of awe and disbelief, he asked, "What... is this, exactly?"
Dave’s gaze was steady. "What you’re seeing... is the Flood Dragon transformation—the earliest stage of a serpent stepping beyond its bloodline. It’s the first sign that a snake-type martial spirit is evolving past its limits."
He tilted his head slightly. "Your Jade Phosphor Serpent has begun shedding its origins. It’s no longer a pure venomous beast—it’s aligning with a higher, draconic resonance."
Dugu Bo slowly nodded, the realization settling over him like a heavy cloak—but not an unwelcome one.
"...Then from now on, it’s no longer the Jade Phosphorous Serpent," he said with a quiet smirk. "It’s the Jade Phosphorous Flood Dragon."
Dave gave a casual shrug, lips tugging upward. "Call it what you like. Just know... you’ve stepped onto a path few can get the chance of."
As Dugu Bo turned, a subtle shift in the surrounding air drew both of their eyes.
She was glowing now—silver and green energy coiling around her like twin rivers. Her body levitated slightly above the ground, and the Celestial Snake Ivy had completely merged with her spirit. Her features were sharper, her aura more regal... and her spirit projection behind her had begun to take form.
But it wasn’t like her grandfather’s.
No—this wasn’t a pseudo dragon.
This was something purer.
She slowly descended, her eyes opening—bright emerald irises slit vertically, but flecked with golden light. The ivy pattern now faintly etched into her arms glowed like living runes.
Dugu Bo frowned. "...She’s giving off pressure. Toward me."
Dave smirked faintly. "That’s not disrespect. It’s instinct. Her herb wasn’t the same as yours."
He stepped beside Dugu Bo, eyes locked on Dugu Yan’s transforming spirit. "The Celestial Snake Ivy doesn’t just balance poison—it’s symbiotic. It fuses, transforms, and elevates."
"She didn’t take a step toward a flood dragon..." Dave said quietly. "She skipped it."
Dugu Bo’s eyes widened.
"She’s not a Flood Dragon," Dave finished. "She’s something closer to... a True Dragon Serpent. Her bloodline isn’t mutating—it’s being rewritten."
