Dave had joined Shrek Academy for a simple reason—because, deep down, the academy was innocent.
It had merely fallen into a misguided path due to certain individuals... especially that so-called master—Yu Xiaogang, the self-proclaimed "Grandmaster," whose doctrines were rigid, outdated, and blindly revered.
And yet, ironically, he was still called "Master" by many, just because he scribbled down stolen data and dubbed them as his theories and spread it to whole world.
As Dave stood by, arms loosely crossed near the training field, a soft, cheerful voice called out.
"Big brothers! Sisters!"
The group turned as a small figure came running toward them—a little girl, barely three years old, with soft pink pigtails and a round face that looked far too innocent for this chaotic world. In her hands were crushed sugar snacks, some of which had already smeared onto her cheeks.
"What are you doing?" she asked curiously, staring up at them with big, expectant eyes.
This little girl was Liu Xue, daughter of Flander and Liu Erlong.
Yes... that Liu Erlong.
As for how those two ended up together? Well, that was Dave’s doing. Through careful manipulation via the system, he had slowly peeled back the lies that Yu Xiaogang had woven. He had arranged for the truth to come to light—especially for the one person who had once loved him blindly: Liu Erlong.
When the deception collapsed, it was Flander who stood by Erlong’s side, helping her recover emotionally and spiritually. Dave had given him a little push, and after two years of tentative friendship, mutual healing, and awkward dates... the two ended up together.
The result was now standing before them: Liu Xue, their adorable and mischievous daughter.
"Xue’r, what are you doing here? You might get hurt wandering ." Tony said, kneeling down as he gently wiped her cheek.
Out of the entire group, Tony doted on her the most. Since the moment she’d clung to his leg the first time they met, calling him "Uncle Shiny," she had practically claimed him as her favorite playmate. Even now, her giggle echoed as she jumped into his arms without hesitation.
"You’ve got snack all over your face again," he said with mock sternness, brushing her nose, which made her giggle again.
The others smiled faintly, already used to the sight.
"Alright, I think that’s enough for today," Dave said, clapping his hands to signal the end of the day’s sparring.
Everyone began packing up. Ma Hongjun and Bruce slowly retracted their martial spirits and exchanged friendly taps on the shoulder. But as Ma Hongjun caught sight of Bruce receiving a cheerful smile from a nearby girl, he sighed internally.
"Man, I’m still single out here..." he thought bitterly, watching Bruce, who was now attended by a beautiful girl Natasha.
After six years of growing and training, relationships had naturally formed. There were now two notable couples among them: Bucky and Shuri, and Dave and Meilin.
And Bruce and Natasha were already a couple before coming to this world. While Natasha had originally been attracted to Dave, it was Bruce’s sincerity that allowed her to realize her early crush was just puppy love, while with Bruce—it was true love.
In Bucky’s case, it had been a slow but steady bond with Shuri that blossomed through trust and shared growth.
As for Dave, no one was surprised when one day they found Meilin coming out of his room. He was already considered a bit of a playboy in their eyes, so it didn’t matter to them. And they had also seen the way Meilin always looked at Dave even before they were a couple.
And with thier arrival in Academy others have changed too.
Even Oscar, who had once considered himself the least talented of their group, was now a solid combatant thanks to Dave’s guidance.
His original skills were Healing Sausage and Detoxification Sausage, but Dave’s intervention changed that. He now possessed two Amplification Skills:
One called Sturdy Sausage, which increases Defense, Endurance, and Stamina by 50% for five minutes.
The second, called "Edgy Sausage," enhances Attack Power, Agility, and Senses by 50% for seven minutes.
As for his third spirit skill, it remained similar to the original: the Flying Sausage, which grants temporary flight capabilities to anyone who eats it.
Oscar was now a Level 36 Spirit Master—far more powerful than he was originally.
Dai Mubai had reached Level 42.
Ma Hongjun, through constant guidance and competition, was now at Level 39. His flames were no longer classified as Evil Fire Phoenix, but thanks to Dave’s pills and treatment, it had evolved into a genuine Phoenix Flame. He also no longer looked bloated or overly fat—just slightly chubby, but in a healthy way.
As for Dave’s group—thanks to the cultivation methods, high-rank spirit rings, and structured training—they had all reached Level 42 or 43, with Dave standing at the top at Level 48.
This was mainly due to his high-quality spirit rings. His fourth spirit ring was 19,000 years, and the third was 9,000 years. Compared to others, all of his spirit rings were around 2,000 to 3,000 years higher in age. This was possible thanks to his exceptionally high spiritual strength, which none of the others could come close to matching.
The teachers of Shrek hadn’t fallen behind either.
Flander was now at Level 88, his strength nearing the edge of breaking through to the Rank 90 Titled Douluo threshold.
Zhao Wuji had broken through to Level 82.
The old man with the Stick Martial Spirit (Lu Jiannan) was now at Level 78.
And the one with the Jelly Bean Martial Spirit—the odd, supportive elder—had quietly reached Level 79.
Shrek Academy had evolved tremendously under Dave’s quiet but strategic influence.
He had personally restructured the school, dividing it into three distinct divisions: the Outer Hall, the Inner Hall, and the newly dubbed Monster Division—a special section meant only for those with monstrous potential.
Unsurprisingly, he and his close friends were the core of that Monster Division.
