After Li Dong finished speaking his eyes turned to Ye Qian hurriedly and he called out “Second Boss!”
The xiaozi gathered around the room were stupid through and through, muttering themselves loud enough for everybody to hear, “He doesn’t deserve to be Brother Hu’s Da Ge.” The xiaozi that made a moved earlier only stared blankly, not knowing what to do.
Ye Qian was not an unreasonable person, he only acted on impulse earlier because he was angry. Sometimes Ye Qian looked down on these small gangsters, all day they bullied those weaker than them, but when they met their equals they would cower. Ye Qian felt that if they had time to stand around here and argue then why don’t they just go out and actually avenge the person. They didn’t dare to do it, that’s why they were here causing a ruckus.
After nodding towards Li Dong, Ye Qian walked straight into the room. When Ye Qian saw Wang Hu lying on the bed, all wrapped up in bandages, he felt a lump on his throat. “Wang Hu, how ya feeling?” Ye Qian asked with concern.
Wang Hu’s face split open into a smile and he said, “Er Ge, why did you come?”
“I got careless and got scratched up so came here to see the doctor.” Ye Qian said.
“Brother, I’m alright. Don’t worry. I’ll just rest for a few days then I can leave the hospital.” Wang Hu replied. “Er Ge, I know you treat me as a younger brother, now that something bad happened to me, you certainly won’t leave the matter be. Because of that not once did I think of telling you about this, because I was afraid you’d start something. The enemy is from the Qing Gan, they can’t be offended. Er Ge, promise me, leave this matter alone, alright?”
“Bullshit!” Ye Qian roared angrily, “So what if they are the Qing Gang? I don’t care if they’re the Qing Gang or the Green Gang, he hurt my brother, he has to pay the price. Tiger, don’t worry about this, just rest well and get better, Er Ge will avenge you.”
“Er Ge, this is okay, let this be, we can’t fight the Qing Gang.” Wang Hu beseeched him with worry, “How can you tell me not to worry when something might happen to Er Ge because of me. Just let this matter end this way, it’s not much trouble for me. I only have to rest for a few days then I’ll be fine. This doesn’t have to escalate.”
“Tiger, do you still consider me your brother?” Ye Qian asked.
“Of course, you’ll always be my brother.” Wang firmly said.
“Since I’m still your brother, just listen to me. Ye Qian’s brothers will not be bullied by anyone for no purpose like this. I don’t care if they are the Qing Gang or the Green Gang, even if they are some emperor laozi, as long as they wrong my brothers, they will have to pay the price” Ye Qian said coldly. He turned to Li Dong and asked, “What’s his name? Where does he usually go?”
Li Dong gave Wang Hu a look, then replied honestly, “His name is Situ Liren, a Xiang Zhu in the Ren Zi Hall of the Qing Bang. He usually operates around the southern area’s nightlife. I think what happened was intentional and part of his plan, now that Hu Ke is injured, I’m afraid the Bewitched Bar is now totally under his control, he should be in the Bewitched Bar these recent days.
Ye Qian nodded. He bent down and patted Wang Hu. “Don’t worry. This Er Ge will help you get revenge,” He said.
“Brother, I…” Wang Hu said with a some guilt in his tone.
Ye Qian knew that he was about to speak words of gratitude, but there was no need to say such things among brothers. Ye Qian smiled faintly and said, “Fool. No need to say those things.”
“Second Boss, I’ll go with you.” Li Dong looked at Ye Qian with a kind of resoluteness in his eyes..
“No need. Just myself is fine.” Ye Qian said. Suddenly, his mobile phone rang. He stared for a moment and said, “I’ll go out to pick up the call.” Then he went out.
Ye Qian took out his mobile phone and saw the number came from an unknown person. He pressed the answer button and heard a woman’s voice. “Hello, is this Mr. Ye?”
“Yes, you are……”
“I’m Ji Meng Qing, do you forget? Today is my daughter’s birthday. Do you have time to come?” Ji Meng Qing’s expectant voice said.
Ye Qian stared dumbly for a while, then remembered that today was the 25th. If Ji Meng Qing did not remind him then Ye Qian would have forgotten. After a moment of silence, he said, “Okay, but I think I’ll be a little late, how about 6PM?”
“Sure… No problem. Six o’clock in the evening would be acceptable.” Ji Meng Qing said with a somewhat excited tone. “I’ll wait for you in my house.”
“Good.” Ye Qian felt a little uncomfortable over those words, wasn’t “I’ll wait for you in my house” a little suggestive? What is “I’m waiting for you at my house”? Ye Qian shook his head and removed these preposterous thoughts from his mind.
The two of them didn’t say much more, after a few casual remarks they hung up the phone. Ye Qian turned back to Wang Hu’s room and looked at Wang Hu and said, “Tiger, when you get better, Er Ge has something to say to you.”
Wang Hu nodded and said, “Ok. My health is good, so I’ll be out in a few days.”
Ye Qian helplessly shot him a glance and said “Even a healthy body cannot withstand a beating like this. Haven’t you heard of the saying “you need 100 days to recuperate from serious injury.” Rest well, don’t worry about anything, Er Ge is here. If the sky were to fall Er Ge will help you raise it.”
“Second Boss, I…” Li Dong opened his mouth but the words he wanted to say wouldn’t come out.
Ye Qian smiled and patted his shoulder. He said, “I know what you will say, but you shouldn’t get involved in this. Stay in the hospital and take care of Tiger, wait for news from me and it should be alright.”
Li Dong looked at Ye Qian then nodded silently. In fact he understood very well that he was just an ant to the Qing Gang. Even if he went he wouldn’t be able to help much. He didn’t know why but he believed Ye Qian, if Ye Qian was around, there was nothing to be afraid of. Moreover, Wang Hu had been beaten up into this state, as his younger bro he had to personally help him.
Unknowingly they had been talking till noon. Lin Rou Rou, who had already changed to casual attire, walked into the room. She have Ye Qian an annoyed look and said, “Didn’t I ask you to wait for me? Why are you running all over the place?”
Ye Qian laughed and said, “I just bumped into a friend earlier so I came to see him. We talked for so long I forgot the time.”
Li Dong respectfully bent his waist. He bowed and said, “Sister-in-law…”
Wang Hu also struggled up, wanting to rise as well, but because his entire body was bandaged he couldn’t move. He could only smile awkwardly and say, “Sister-in-law.”
Lin Rou Rou was starting to enjoy being called that and did not get shy anymore like before. She smiled faintly.
