Chapter 393 Duty of a President
Rachel sighed, "Leon's boss has connections in Texas, so he might be able to help. Leon's not as bad as you think, Tina." She explained.
"Don't you think he's bluffing though? A driver is just a driver, there's no way he'd be friends with his boss." Tina retorted.
"I believe him." Rachel said as she closed off the conversation with Tina and dialed Leon's number.
After Rachel explained the events that happened to Leon, he immediately knew what was going on and gave Rachel some assurance. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it. Don't stress yourself too much, okay?" Leon told her.
"Our company, which is called the "Flying Group", also has film and television companies. They currently have a huge influence in Texas so if my boss talked during a show, Fay wouldn't be able to bear the pressure." He added, making Rachel regain her confidence.
"Leon, I'm... I'm sorry about yesterday." Rachel apologized.
"It's alright, Rachel. I should be sorry too because I did it out of impulse. I should have never done that to Tina." Leon said. "But let's focus on your job now. I'll help you, so don't stress yourself out."
Rachel immediately felt a warm feeling in her heart so she couldn't help but smile through the phone. She knew Leon couldn't see her, but she also knew that she could rely on him. "Thank you, Leon."
Then she hung up.
After the call, Rachel turned to Tina and looked at her sternly. "Leon said he'll take care of it. He also said that Fay would show up."
"And you believe him?" Tina scoffed. "Did you really think Fay would be persuaded by the likes of him?"
"Tina, he promised me. He's not the type to break his promises." Rachel glared at her sister. She was getting on her nerves.
"Are you absolutely sure he's not the type to break his promises? Rachel, did you forget what he did to me? He promised me that I'd get in Flying Group but what happened? My friend got into the company instead of me. It's absurd!" Tina shouted at Rachel as she mentioned the past. It was only a misunderstanding, but Tina still couldn't believe it.
"I still believe that Leon tried his best to help you, Tina." Rachel retorted as she began to doubt Tina's "friend." They still hadn't met in person and she thought that it was quite weird.
"Rachel, if you don't believe me, then let's just see if Leo can do something about Fay." Tina rolled her eyes. "Fay's a superstar, so I doubt that she'll be persuaded that easily."
Although Tina seemed like she didn't care about anything but Leon, she cared about how much money her sister spent in the restaurant they were in.
After all, Rachel had spent so much, and the company didn't even give her the funds to do so. Tina also doubted that the company would give her money back since it also seemed like they were tight when it came to that kind of thing.
"Whether it works or not, we just have to try and wait a little longer." Rachel said with confidence. She trusted Leon, so she couldn't give up immediately.
As Leon was pacing around the gardens inside his villa, he fiddled with his phone so he could contact Hugo.
"Hugo, I want you to order the person in charge of the film and entertainment industry to contact Fay and her agency immediately. Tell her that the chairman of the Flying Group wants her to go to the Delicious Western Restaurant to meet Rachel and discuss some things about their cooperation." Leon said sternly.
"President Williams, what is this about?" Hugo bewilderedly asked.
"I'll spare you the details. I just need Fay to meet Rachel in Delicious Western Restaurant. Tell her that she'll get lots of resources from the film and television industry if she agrees to meet up with her."
"Alright, you can count on me."
After finishing the call with Hugo, Leon decided to leave for Delicious Western Restaurant. After all, He was worried that Rachel wouldn't be able to handle the pressure.
As soon as Leon drove to the restaurant, the Flying Group contacted Fay immediately and she got the message that Leon left for her.
She was ecstatic. She couldn't help but imagine the battle between the Flying Group and the Carter Group, but she also knew that Flying Group was the most influential company around, so that made it all the more difficult for her to refuse.
However, Fay couldn't quite figure out why Flying Group made her do such a thing. The company that Rachel was in belonged to a branch of the Carter family's company and Flying Group were supposed to be their enemies.
Another thing that made her confused was that Rachel was just a small clerk in a small company. That meant she should not be involved in Flying Group.
The truth about Fay was she didn't forget about her appointment with Rachel. She simply made her wait because it was her style of doing things.
However, the investors opened their mouths and Fay knew that she had to see Rachel today.
As a result, Fay hurriedly went to fix her makeup and made it more refined so her investors would be satisfied.
When Leon arrived at the restaurant, he went in and immediately saw Rachel. He strode towards her and immediately told her the good news. "Fay will be here soon."
