Chapter 323 Rip Your Mouth Off
Tobey was intimidated by Leon Williams. He saw him when he picked up Sucyanti Wibowo from school.
Leon Williams glanced at the terrace and saw Sucyanti Wibowo wearing an orange floral dress. "Sucyanti, why did you call the driver?" Tobey asked.
He was unhappy and was trying to conceal it. He was from a respected family but he was surpassed by a driver.
He was certain that Leon Williams was the person she likes.
Leon Williams was on the patio. Sucyanti Wibowo handed him the chicken wings and wanted to put a piece in his mouth.
Leon Williams was surprised.
Betty noticed that Sucyanti was acting really weird. She was not sure if she was double-dealing.
"Open your mouth. This is delicious", Sucyanti Wibowo said.
Everyone was surprised. They felt something was wrong. They looked like they were a couple.
Without thinking why she was acting weird, Leon Williams opened his mouth and took a bite.
Tobey felt he was stabbed in the chest when he saw them. He gave Leon Williams a frigid look. He looked back at Sucyanti Wibowo and said, "This is my grandfather's house and I couldn't let any strangers in. He is your driver, he should be waiting for you outside".
Tobey was furious. He wanted to find an appropriate reason to push him out.
"I invited him over and he was not my driver today", she replied.
"He does not belong to our group. Don't you think it's wrong to just invite someone over?" Tobey said.
He was from a family of lawyers that's why he was very good at arguing.
The others agreed not to let the driver in.
The Rossetti family was very famous in the legal profession. His grandfather was the Chief Legal Counsel in the capital and has won many foreman cases.
Sunny Law Firm was still operational and has always been the top law firm in the capital. His grandfather established his connections in the capital and retired five years ago.
The Rossetti family was not famous until his grandfather made friends with politicians and business tycoons.
Their global strength was not as good as the Wibowo family but they were certainly not easy to mess with.
"Your grandpa is very kind to me. I'm pretty sure he won't mind if I invited someone over. Your grandpa has the final say, not you!" she said.
Sucyanti Wibowo was highly respected by the group.
"This was just a barbecue party. We don't need privacy", she added.
Tobey was gloomy after she said that.
Tobey knew Sucyanti Wibowo and his grandpa have a good relationship. He was treating him as a granddaughter.
As a result, Tobey decided not to drive Leon Williams away, or else, Sucyanti might hate him for it. He couldn't believe he liked the driver more than him.
"Okay. You can stay here but don't dare to move around the house. If you want to go to the toilet, ask for my permission first", he told Leon Williams.
Sucyanti Wibowo ignored Tobey. She picked up another kebab and handed it to Leon Williams.
"Delicious?" she asked.
Leon Williams nodded.
"Try this one," she said as she was about it put it to his mouth.
"I'll do it myself."
Leon Williams could feel her hostility. The way she was acting towards him could make others feel jealous.
He took the kebab and took a puzzled look at Sucyanti Wibowo.
This girl was very arrogant, but now she was gracious. What does that mean?
Tobey almost ripped off the barbecue grill. He couldn't help Sucyanti Wibowo's closeness to Leon Williams.
"Sucyanti, I have a gift for you." Tobey took out a wooden Fuschia box from his pocket.
He opened the box and it revealed a pearl that was the same size as an egg.
"Sucyanti, come here Look how bright this pearl was." Tobey was under the shade of a tree. He took a fluorescent light out and pointed it towards the pearl. It illuminated a dazzling light.
Everyone was captivated.
"Wow! Look at that pearl!"
"Tobey was so thoughtful. This thing is not ordinary!"
"It must be expensive!"
He was delighted to hear it from his friends.
"This was sold at Christie's auction for 20 million dollars." Tobey proudly said.
Tobey's family was not as wealthy as the well-known families in the capital but they were considered as one of the richest.
"I got this from a collector for 10 million dollars. Now, I am giving this to Sucyanti as a proposal gift."
The truth was he only got it for 1 million dollars but in order to impress Sucyanti, he multiplied the amount by ten.
Everyone was envious except for Sucyanti Wibowo.
Her grandfather started his antique business. She has nothing to do directly on it but she knows a lot about antiques.
"Tobey, I really appreciate your gift. You don't have to misrepresent its price. Let's just be friends and I would gladly take it even if it is only worth 100 thousand dollars."
Sucyanti Wibowo was disappointed with what he did. Considering its size, it won't sell for 10 million dollars. 1 million dollars was the most reasonable price.
Tobey was embarrassed.
"I am not an antique expert. The collector sold this to me for 10 million dollars. I didn't bargain at that time because it doesn't really matter how expensive this was as long as you will like it. I was cheated by the seller and I will surely get back to him." Tobey found an excuse.
Sucyanti Wibowo doesn't care. She would not take it regardless of its worth. If she does, it would mean she accepted his proposal.
"I can't accept it."
"Sucyanti, was the pearl not good enough? I will buy a bigger one next time to make sure you'll like it." Tobey was disappointed.
"You don't understand. It has nothing to do with the size of the pearl. We are only suitable for each other. Let's just be friends." Sucyanti Wibowo responded.
Tobey was annoyed. He bought a million-dollar pearl but she still refused. It seems like she was really attracted to that driver.
"Do you think that man can give you a million-dollar pearl? This is a real pearl! Do you think that beggar could afford this?" said Tobey.
Leon Williams doesn't want to get involved but he was being humiliated by Tobey. He smiled at him coldly and said, "It was absurd to fool everyone with a fake pearl and still feel superior."
Tobey was furious when he heard it.
"Asshole! This is a real pearl even if it isn't worth 10 million dollars. If you dare talk again, I'll rip your mouth off!"
