Chapter 177: Chapter 112: Killing Heart
After his latest rebirth, Yan Fei discovered that the outside was still shrouded in white mist, knowing that he had not yet escaped the Infinite Loop Space. Therefore, he did not immediately go out to explore the outside world, instead, he stayed in his room, desperately pondering his way out.
Regardless of how much he thought, Yan Fei couldn’t come up with any effective method. However, his intuition told him that the Black Hole Face Child who appeared at the beginning was definitely key. If only he could recall the scenes depicted by the child’s black hole face, or figure out what word the child wrote on the ground, he would be able to find the truth about the situation and leave the Infinite Loop Space.
But Yan Fei had already forgotten the scenes depicted by the Black Hole Face Child, and the words the child had written on the ground had been destroyed, so the only option left was to find that Black Hole Face Child. He needed to watch those scenes through the black hole on the child’s face once again, or reconstruct the words the child had written on the ground. Only these two clues could help him escape the Infinite Loop Space. Yet, since the first loop, he never encountered that Black Hole Face Child again and had no idea where to find the child.
While Yan Fei was sunk deep in thought, suddenly, rustling noises came from outside the room. Startled, before he could react, there was a “bang”, and his room door was kicked open. Three dark figures jumped into the room from outside.
Yan Fei was taken aback and upon closer inspection, realized that the three dark figures were actually three of his previous dead selves. One with an arm torn off, one with a rotten neck, one missing a heart; all three dead Yan Fei’s stared blankly at him. Yan Fei in his original body had not ventured out this time, but these three ghostly selves had somehow found his room and burst in to attack him. It seemed that in this eerie world, no place was safe.
Yan Fei, in his original body, was unable to contact his Drone Avatar and, consequently, could not use its powers. He could not open Universal Space and thus, weapons inside were inaccessible. Although he was wiser than the three ghostly Yan Fei’s and could deftly use his own strength, he couldn’t withstand the ghostly Yan Fei’s suicidal simple tactics of trading injury for injury. In less than five minutes, the original Yan Fei was cornered in the room. After fighting back and killing two ghostly Yan Fei’s, he finally exhausted his strength. Then, the heartless ghostly Yan Fei punched him in the top of his head, exploding his skull and instantly killing him.
In the room, Yan Fei screamed, then was reborn again to find the room still filled with thick white mist, himself still in the state of infinite looping. This time, before he could make any move, four ghostly Yan Fei’s broke in and surrounded the original Yan Fei. He had difficulty dealing with three ghostly Yan Fei’s, and now faced with four, he was even more outmatched. After exerting himself to kill one ghostly Yan Fei, he was finally defeated by the ghostly Yan Fei with a blown head.
Yan Fei was then reborn in the room, only to find himself still in the Infinite Loop World. After being killed consecutively, his situation was getting progressively more difficult. As his deaths increased, the number of ghostly Yan Fei’s in the white mist grew, and he became less and less of a match for them, easily killed by the ghostly Yan Fei’s every time.
Being killed repeatedly by his own dead selves nearly drove the original Yan Fei to a mental breakdown. After his rebirth this time, he didn’t stay in his room. Instead, he rushed out with great speed, beginning the search for the Black Hole Face Child. Despite searching the entire Dai Ethnic Village, he found no trace of the child. Just when Yan Fei, unwilling to give up, was about to search again, he was discovered once more by the ghostly Yan Fei’s.
Five ghostly Yan Fei’s charged out of the white mist, surrounded the original Yan Fei, and attacked him. The five ghostly Yan Fei’s joining forces meant that even with intelligence, the original Yan Fei was no match for them. This time, he didn’t even manage to kill one ghostly Yan Fei before being instantly killed by the others within ten seconds.
Yan Fei was reborn again, then went out to search for the Black Hole Face Child once more, only to be instantly killed by the trailing ghostly Yan Fei’s. And so it continued; Yan Fei reborn, then instantly killed, repeatedly. Eventually, upon each rebirth, Yan Fei’s immediate action was to hide himself, attempting to find the Black Hole Face Child. However, each attempt ended with him being discovered by the ghostly Yan Fei’s who swarmed and effortlessly killed him.
In this way, Yan Fei could not tell how many times he had been killed by the ghostly Yan Fei’s; the number in the white mist seemed endless.
This time, immediately after rebirth, Yan Fei looked around the room and noticing the absence of the ghostly Yan Fei’s, he instinctively let out a sigh of relief. He’d had enough; no one would be pleased to be constantly killed by their own deceased selves.
Unfortunately for Yan Fei, that Black Hole Face Child had never appeared again since the first encounter, leaving Yan Fei without any clues as to how to escape. The thought of being killed by his own dead selves filled him with an overwhelming gloom. Although he could be reborn after dying, nobody wanted to die like that.
