There were too many assassins, and having some ability to protect himself was essential. Peter was confident that once he achieved success in skin refining, his bulletproof ability would get a significant boost. And if he were to continue improving his True Qi, not even artillery shells would pose any problem, let alone bullets.
He removed Lingcao herbs from his ring one after another and put them into the furnace.
Two hours had passed, and everything in the furnace turned into liquid.
After another two hours, Peter made hand seals, and the liquid in the furnace underwent some sort of peculiar fusion.
Seeing the medicinal fluid in the pill furnace, Peter finally let out a sigh of relief. The next step was to absorb it using a special Cultivation Technique, then he should be able to obtain the Skin Refinement Layer.
An ordinary person might need a lot of time and medicinal fluid to enter the Skin Refinement Layer, but Peter didn’t face any such difficulty. He put away the pill furnace and the medicinal fluid inside it and walked out of the room.
Upon opening the door, he met several pairs of curious eyes.
"Peter, did you succeed with the elixir?" Adonis Harrison asked.
"I didn’t refine any elixir. I just refined some medicinal fluid for myself."
Upon hearing that it wasn’t about refining an elixir, nobody continued asking.
Lawrence Baxter said with a smile: "Your province’s matter has been resolved, you should be relieved now. We did not take your elixirs for nothing, hehe."
Adonis Harrison also laughed: "Thomas Woods was just emerging and got immediately suppressed. He must be annoyed, hehe."
The issue was not considered a big matter by anyone, as all of them represented their own families and likely made use of their families’ power in this matter.
"It didn’t cause too much trouble, did it?" Peter didn’t know what consequences this might entail, so he decided to ask.
"Don’t worry, it’s not a big deal. Now, the Lin family is depending only on Thomas Woods, who is merely at the level of Qi Refining First Layer."
"That’s good. I’m going to take a bath," Peter said and went towards the bath.
Everyone shook their heads upon seeing Peter’s demeanor. Unwillingly, they were all revolving around Peter, and they really couldn’t understand this farmer.
Once inside the room, Peter took out a bathtub from his ring.
The tub was probably bought by Bowen Walter for Peter to store. It was big enough for a person to soak in, and ideal for Peter’s use now.
He filled the wooden tub with hot water and then poured the refined medicinal fluid into the tub.
As he immersed his entire body into the tub, Peter couldn’t help inwardly moan. The medicine was intense, its medicinal effect flowing straight into every cell of his body.
To let the medicinal effect permeate more thoroughly, Peter submerged his entire body into the medicinal fluid.
Sitting cross-legged in the tub, Peter activated the Body Refining Secret from his inheritance, allowing the medicinal effect to circulate ceaselessly within his body.
As the Cultivation Technique took its course, Peter distinctly felt a special change in his body. A force was circulating under his skin. He had never imagined that there existed such meridians underneath the skin.
The most important part was that Peter found a part of the True Qi within his body had turned into warm currents and infiltrated into the skin layer.
The Skin Refining had begun!
This was a crucial moment. Peter’s entire focus sunk inwards. He then noticed clear changes in the skin layer, as though the cells were consuming True Qi.
As the skin cells were relentlessly absorbing True Qi, Peter distinctly felt a remarkable toughness in his skin layer. Moreover, with the infusion of True Qi, his resilience to impact was greatly increased.
Time ticked away bit by bit.
Peter was fully engrossed in his cultivation.
"What’s going on with Peter? Even a bath takes him so long?" The few people sitting outside were shocked, they rushed into the bathroom right after pushing the door open.
The sight of Peter soaking in a bathtub instead of the large luxury bath stunned everyone.
Maurren Smith also rushed in with everyone. Once she saw the scene, she blushed and said, "What a person!" She spat and walked away.
Being a wise man, Adonis Harrison glanced at Peter, who had submerged himself in the water for cultivation, and said: "Peter is cultivating. Let’s just protect him and not disturb."
"Is he alright?" Oscar Wilson was seeing this breath-holding cultivation method for the first time was concerned.

Peter plumped down, he was utterly exasperated. He had exposed his entire body, especially the critical part was in an upright state because of the cultivation.
Everyone was initially dumbfounded, followed by bursts of laughter.
