Sumatra's Greatest Fan Chapter 18

Mist constantly spread across the region, whirling around in unique currents that made it hard for the Troitails to determine where they were moving. A couple Troitails spun their scales to blow away the mist. However, the volume of mist congregating upon their location dwarfed their clearing efforts. A Troitail moved an empty scale across the region, infusing its Prana into the Spirit Weapon, intent to detect the target. It had modified its Prana detection means in such a way it would be able to sense the target once the Spirit Weapon makes physical contact. Without much force, just speed, the scale touched one Troitail after another, desperately searching for the Cooter Clansman who had targeted them. The person in question was calmly eyeing them from the sky. No existence was capable of flight on Sumatra. The closest they got to that was to glide in the air. As none of the races capable of gliding around operated anywhere in and around the Tsloch Sea, the Troitails never bothered to search in the air. Since the Boiboi Pet was Torq’s Spirit Weapon, he could use psychokinesis to lift the Pet in the air and move it around. Hovering at an altitude of five metres, the Boiboi Pet observed a shift in the mist below, observing where the Troitails were heading, ’Some of them are steadily inching towards the dorm’s entrance.’ Once they enter the dorm, their Spirit Weapons would be able to clear out the mist better in the corridors. The mist kept expanding thanks to wind, covering the walls of the dorm. Torq had released the mist at a headwind spot, ensuring the mist spread across the dorm. This was done to prevent any of the students from noticing Boiboi Pet flying through the sky. Once the preparations were complete, the Boiboi Pet landed next to the Troitail corpse it had killed moments before. Since it had died, the Troitail’s Spirit Container began collapsing bit by bit. As it collapsed, its scales that were filled with compressed water began to sport cracks, unable to handle the water pressure anymore. The Troitails were a race born with the physical capability of passively accumulating the power of psychokinesis in their scales, without conscious control. This helped maintain the water’s pressure within the scale and the scale’s structural integrity. With the shattering of the Spirit Container, this power of psychokinesis waned in response. In a matter of seconds, all the scales would burst and spew out a torrent of water, enough to clear out a large section of the mist. Once the mist clears, Torq would lose his advantage. Hence, with a swipe of its hands, the Boiboi Pet condensed a stream of water that severed the scales, clutched them, and launched them far away from the dorm. The scales exploded prompt after, releasing a stream of water. Since the mist wasn’t affected by the flooding water, the Boiboi Pet plunged its hand into the Troitail corpse’s mouth and began extracting its blood. If he only intended to kill it, Torq had better means. However, his priority was to extract the Troitail’s blood at the point of its death, where it contained the most amount of Prana possible following the shattering of its Spirit Container. Even though he couldn’t refine it into an Elixir, he could still turn it into valuable medicine whose efficiency in Prana generation was significantly superior to what he could gather from Canteen food. That way, as long as he finishes charging up his Empyrean Snapper Pet, he would have a smoother time reaching the peak of the Spirit Stage. He could rely on the Elixir for the final stretch, since at present, it could develop his Spirit Container by 24 units. Boiboi Pet took a minute refining the entirety of the Troitail’s blood into medicine. After shedding off most of its contents and concentrating its nutritional capacity to the limit, he obtained around a couple litre’s worth of medicine. The Boiboi Pet flew through the air and entered one of the open windows on the third floor. Torq was seated inside, holding a vat made of stone. This stone was sourced from the table and chair present in the room. It had been carved into sections and assembled into the shape of a vat by a joint-locking system. The two litres of medicine flowed into the vat as Boiboi Pet flew out once again. Locking the window, Torq consumed the medicine and resumed his seated pose, beginning to steadily recover Prana upon activating Mystic Mist Art. He was the battery supplying energy to the Boiboi Pet. Hence, he only needed to focus on recovery while the Boiboi Pet focused on killing the Troitails. B-Boom! A Troitail managed to find its way into the dorm by now. Upon using an empty scale as a Spirit Weapon to touch the walls and determine the corridor’s layout, it let out clicking sounds. A scale flew deep into the corridor and exploded, spewing water that washed down the place, clearing out the mist in the process. The Troitail exploded another scale and kept making clicking sounds, causing more of its kind to steadily gather behind it. Once most of them had gathered, they began targeting the rooms once after another, to fish out the students and consume them. Outside the dorm, the Boiboi Pet used its Prana detection means and sensed the last Troitail that was about to enter the cleared out section. Gathering a sphere of water in its palms, the Boiboi Pet rotated it until the sphere turned turbulent. And then, it dropped down from the skies, making a beeline towards the Troitail like an eagle. And then, when it was right above the target, the Boiboi Pet exploded the sphere of water into mist, which formed a gushing stream that forced itself into the Troitail’s gills and suffocated it. One of the scales on its back exploded in retaliation to produce a geyser, ending up cutting off Boiboi Pet’s arm and crushing a portion of the shoulder blades. Click! Cli– The Troitail fell unconscious, barely screaming for help. Four scales spontaneously flew towards its spot and revolved around, searching for a possible target. By this time, Boiboi Pet had crawled underneath the Troitail’s fin for cover. It had perfectly wrapped the fin around itself like a tent. The scales sent by the other Troitails made contact with the fin multiple times and danced across its body’s surface, failing to find their target. Boiboi Pet affixed its severed arm to the socket, which got attached once the damaged shoulder finished its recovery. In closeup, Boiboi Pet extended its index finger, where a sphere of water gathered and elongated to form a drill. And then, it punctured through the gills and expanded until it reached the brain. The damage was continuous to keep the Troitail’s Prana busy with recovery. This prevented it from regaining consciousness. And once the Boiboi Pet had damaged it enough, it extracted the latter’s blood through the hole in its gills. Blood circulation at the gills was abundant, making the extraction of blood extremely accessible and easy to do so. Once the blood was fully refined, the Troitail ended up dead. Boiboi Pet remained hiding within it, until an opportunity presented itself, where it took to the skies and entered Torq’s room. Click! Cli-ck! All the Troitails were within the corridor now, destroying the doors to the rooms one after another, their progress slow. "Hey!" The Boiboi Pet arrived at the other end of the corridor and shouted. The Troitails had already recognised Boiboi Pet’s presence, aware the culprit had killed a couple of their brethren. Without hesitation, over a dozen scales flew towards the Boiboi Pet. The target, in response, got to the floor and assumed a sprinter’s pose, "Ready...?" "Set!" A stream of water revolved around its body, forming an armour. The power of psychokinesis supplied to it by Torq increased, slowly elevating it to the air. "And...GO!" The Boiboi Pet flew towards the Troitails.
