Emperor Jingyuan stepped onto the battlefield when he was in his teens. He killed the enemy on horseback and only dismounted to rule the country. The Yu family had originally seized the country on horseback, and the spearmanship passed down through the generations was something which every monarch learnt.
Yu Tang used the baseball bat as if it were a silver spear. Swift on his feet, he met the masked men head-on as he rushed forward and struck their heads so that they instantly dropped to the ground. After they fell, Yu Tang rolled and avoided a gunshot from one of the gunmen. Sweeping the man’s feet out from under him, Yu Tang tripped him and then jabbed him in the neck with his elbow.
The two bodyguards also got out of the car and began fighting the men in black. One bodyguard could take on two men at one time, which was amazing.
“Damn it!” Seeing that the situation had taken a turn for the worse and that someone could come by at any time since it was a highway, Scarface immediately became anxious and took out his gun to shoot Yu Tang dead.
“You can’t shoot him; he’s more valuable than I am.” Hearing the sound of movement, Song Xiao immediately spoke up.
“Heh, my job is just to abduct you. I don’t care about anyone else.” Scarface raised the gun in his hand and aimed at Yu Tang, who was thrashing everyone.
Song Xiao frowned slightly. Who would want to kidnap him? There was no way that his only enemy, Qiu Mingyan, would do something so big. He was nothing more than the son of the boss of an entertainment company. Given how violent and ruthless these people were, the ransom they would demand definitely wasn’t something that his family would be able to afford. Then, there was only one possibility: this was aimed at the Yu family; that was to say, at Yu Tang…
No matter how good Yu Tang’s martial arts were, they weren’t a match for modern firearms.
“Bang!” The bullet hit the ground, and there was a loud explosion.
Yu Tang rolled to avoid the bullet, but also lost the best moment to beat up those dizzy gangsters holding guns. One of them seized the opportunity to kick him from behind.
A leather boot kicked Yu Tang hard, and he let out a muffled groan as his body turned numb for a moment. Seeing a chance, Scarface immediately took aim.
“Wu…” Song Xiao sprung up and crashed violently into Scarface, causing the shot to go wide.
“Ah —” Scarface’s comrade was shot and let out a wretched cry.
Yu Tang climbed back up and struck him over the head with the bat, knocking him out. After that, he did a sweeping kick and broke another man’s leg, snatching his gun and letting loose with a round of gunfire.
“Bastard!” Scarface slapped Song Xiao, then grabbed his hair and hauled him over. Taking a knife, he pressed it to Song Xiao’s throat and pulled him out of the car. “Brat, stop!”
Yu Tang turned his head and saw Song Xiao bleeding from the corner of his lips in Scarface’s grasp. His eyes instantly turned red. “Let him go!”
“Put down your gun, and I’ll let him go.” Scarface kicked the gun in front of him towards a kidnapper who was struggling to get up, while the others were still fighting the bodyguards.
However, Yu Tang didn’t put down the gun, and instead aimed at Scarface. His marksmanship was very average, and he couldn’t guarantee that he wouldn’t hurt Song Xiao when he fired. However, if he put down the gun, then he would just be waiting to be captured.
“Brat, do you know who I am? I’m Bandit Clem! No one knows how many have died at my hands, so don’t test my patience!” Scarface pressed the knife harder against Song Xiao’s pale neck, drawing a line of blood. “I’m going to count to three. If you still won’t put down the gun, then I’ll cut off one of his fingers. Three, two&#k2026;”
“Crash!” Yu Tang threw the gun to the ground, and two kidnappers immediately rushed forward and aimed their guns at Yu Tang. With this, the two bodyguards could only stop.
Song Xiao was still blindfolded and couldn’t see anything, but he could guess by the sounds what had happened, and he immediately spoke up. “Don’t harm my classmate! His family is richer than mine; if you take him as well, you’ll get double the ransom!”
These words sounded especially heartless, and even the two bodyguards on the side couldn’t bear to hear them.
“Oho, how interesting.” Scarface jeered and narrowed his eyes. The person who had given him the information had only told him to kidnap Song Xiao. However, he now changed his plan.
There was the rumble of a helicopter in the sky. Someone was leaning against the door of the helicopter, a strangely shaped gun in his hands.
“Wu…” Yu Tang felt his shoulder turn numb, and his body immediately couldn’t help falling to the ground.
“Great monster, I just knew you wouldn’t be able to handle this, so I came ahead of time to pick you up.” The tall man with a pallid face who leapt down from the helicopter spoke with an accent.
That person grabbed Yu Tang and asked Scarface what the plan was.
Scarface threw Song Xiao over as well, indicating for the tall person to throw both of them into the helicopter, and for the bodyguards to be thrown into the truck. Scarface Clemgot into the helicopter as well, while several of the kidnappers drove the truck with the bodyguards along the original route. The helicopter took off at once and flew away.
Soon, only two wrecked commercial vehicles and a beautiful silver convertible were left in a mess on the long highway.
The helicopter was very noisy, and no one could hear what anyone was saying. The kidnappers loudly yelled words like “Go south, idiot!” and didn’t discuss anything.
Song Xiao and Yu Tang had been thrown into a corner and weren’t wearing any seatbelts, so they swayed along with the shaking of the helicopter. Song Xiao couldn’t see anything and could only rely on his senses to edge closer to Yu Tang’s side. A warm hand secretly reached over and grabbed one of his hands that was tied behind his back.
Song Xiao paused for a moment before he slowly returned the grip.
The helicopter flew for a long time and only descended when the sky had darkened. They switched to a car and drove for another period of time until they reached a dilapidated warehouse. It seemed to be a forest and mountains all around them, and only the sounds of insects and birds could be heard.
Scarface took off Song Xiao’s blindfold, and Yu Tang was thrown down next to him.
“Come, darling, let’s record a video.” The kidnapper raised a handphone and grinned as he spoke to Song Xiao.
Song Xiao adapted to the light in the warehouse and narrowed his eyes at the man.
There was a small banquet tonight in the Yu house, and all the Yu family members in LA were present. Second uncle, Yu Tong, sat calmly in a corner as he slowly drank the red wine in his glass.
Ninth uncle Yu Lang walked over and sat with him. “Has everything gone smoothly?”
Yu Tong looked at him with a smile that wasn’t a smile. “This time, I’ve helped you greatly.”
“You can’t put it like that; er-ge was helping himself.” Yu Lang smiled and drew a little closer to whisper, “But er-ge is also really amazing, to be able to find Clem.”
Yu Tong snorted. The American police force might be able to solve this case very quickly if it was anyone else but this bandit. Furthermore, Yu Tang himself held some power. It was only when the police couldn’t handle this matter that he would have to utilise the Yu family’s power; their aim was to give Yu Tang no choice but to beseech the family head for help.
“Say, will he really destroy his path to becoming the family head just for that boy?” Yu Lang was somewhat unsure, even if it did seem like Yu Tang truly liked that Chinese boy called Song Xiao very much.
Just as the two of them were discussing it in secret, a bodyguard suddenly dashed in. “Master, bad news – Tang shaoye was kidnapped!”
“What did you say?” The first one to speak up wasn’t Yu Taixian, but the one sitting in the corner, Yu Lang.
“Who was kidnapped?” The entire room quieted down as Yu Taixian coldly questioned the bodyguard.
The dishevelled bodyguard who had rushed in was the curly-haired one who followed Yu Tang. When the bodyguards opened their eyes, they discovered that they had been thrown onto a remote mountain, but when they ran down, they realised that it was close to the Yu family manor.
“That person is Clem – I recognise him from a wanted poster.” The bodyguard disclosed everything that had happened today with a miserable scowl.
On the side, Yu Tong clutched his chest and nearly fainted. This stupid bandit – he had been ordered to grab Song Xiao, why did he grab Yu Tang?!
“Cry properly and tell your boyfriend how pitiful you are right now, and have him come save you.” Holding up the phone, Scarface indicated for Song Xiao to hurry up and speak.
Song Xiao looked to the side, where Yu Tang’s eyes were shut tight, then looked at this group of great bandits. Pursing his lips, he slowly opened his mouth. “Xiao Tang, I was taken by a group of kidnappers; hurry up and save me.”
“No, no, you have to act more pitiful; put more emotion into it.” The tall man squatted down and poked Song Xiao in the shoulder. “Say what you usually wouldn’t say; only then will he be moved and hand over the ransom, mn?”
Song Xiao’s lips quirked. “I… I’m very scared, hurry up and come hug me…” When he said this, he felt a little nauseated and retched.
A few of the kidnappers retched as well. “Damn gay, how gross.”
Scarface kicked Song Xiao and got ready to send the video recording on the phone as he dialled a handphone number. They had signal out here, and the phone in his other hand rang; it was the phone which they had taken off Yu Tang.
The kidnappers were dumbstruck. That person had given them this contact number and said that as long as they contacted this person and sent him the video, then hid and remained undiscovered for three days, they would receive a large sum of money. They could then do whatever they wanted with this hostage after that.
Now, they had actually kidnapped the person they were supposed to contact.
“Are you an idiot? This person risked his life to save him; wouldn’t he be that very boyfriend?” The tall man rolled his eyes and slapped Scarface.
“You didn’t stop me either ah!” Scarface curled his lip unhappily. “Forget it, this eldest young master is even more valuable.”
The two kidnappers gathered together, flustered and exasperated, and called their contact to discuss the situation.
“I told you guys to kidnap Song Xiao; why did you kidnap Yu Tang?” Yu Tong was almost angered to death. What he wanted to see was Yu Tang crying as he begged the family head to save his missing boyfriend. Now that his grandson was missing, however, the family head would definitely use all the Yu family’s power to look for him. When the time came and he discovered that it had something to do with Yu Tong, the latter would be finished.
“Since it’s already like this, give us the money, and we’ll let Yu Tang go.” The tall man rolled his eyes and laughed coldly as he said, “It doesn’t matter if you don’t give us the money; we’ll just demand it directly from the Yu family.”
The tall man hung up and turned around when his neck suddenly let out a crack. Eyes rolling up, he fell to the floor on top of Scarface, who had already collapsed at some point.
Yu Tang tied the two fellows up and gagged them, then took a dagger which one of them had at the waist and cut the rope around Song Xiao’s hands, before holding him as they stood up together.
