Finally. math was over. I quickly packed my things and headed for the door. My wrist was grabbed and I turned around suddenly. My wolf is a little irritable about the mate thing, so I'm not in the best of moods. A brown-haired girl with green eyes was standing in front of me. She's a little taller than me and pretty as a picture. But there is this smell. She is one of them. One of the pack. Calm down Kim. Calm down.
"Hey, I'm Madison. But please call me maddy." she says kindly.
"Hey. I'm Kim." I said just as kindly. She smiled happily at me.
"Shall I show you the school? And I wanted to ask you if you want to sit down with me and my friends? Then you won't be so alone." she said again via friendlyOkay. I like her even if she is one of them. At least I wouldn't be alone anymore.
"If I don't make any trouble, I'd be happy to." I say politely.
"No don't worry. Otherwise I wouldn't have asked." she laughs. Together we went to the cafeteria. She was super nice. In the cafeteria, we headed to a table with two other girls.
"Hey girls. This is Kim. She's new here." said Maddy to everyone. Everyone smiled at me kindly.
"Hey." I said a little shyly.
"Hi. I'm Sina and this is Cloè." says the dark brown one. She's really pretty and super nice. I sit down at the table like maddy.
"So. How do you like it here?" asks Cloe. She was one of them too. Just not. Sina is human, but she probably knows it.
"It's been pretty good so far. I only sit next to a Jason in math. He thinks he's the best and greatest. He was chatting up me the whole time." I gladly gave of myself. The three start laughing.
"That's the way he is. He doesn't know what a basket is. He hits on anyone he finds pretty. It doesn't matter if she's annoyed or not." laughed Sina. I agreed as did the other two.
"I'll take that as a compliment from him that I'm pretty." I laughed. The three laughed even more.
After a while the cafeteria door opened and two cute guys walked in. The one. I recognize him. He was in the woods with my mate. I hope he doesn't recognize me. I caught a glimpse of him once. Please don't make him recognize me. Please. Sina got up and ran towards the blond who came in. They embraced deeply. Finally they put their foreheads together and whispered something to each other. Definitely mates. But you have to admit they are just cute.
"Don't be surprised, they're always like that." laughs Cloe. I nod laughing. Act like a human. As if you had no idea.
"One would think that they could not live without each other." I laughed, pretending to be ignorant. I know for a fact they couldn't do without each other. Cloè laughs again, but this time it's more forced. She knew like me that it was true.
When the three sat down next to us, they looked at me a bit confused.
"Hi, I'm Kim and I'm new here." I smiled at the two boys.
"Hi. I'm Cole." he says smiling.
"I'm Sina's handsome friend. But just call me Hunter." he says. I immediately start laughing. He looks at me indignantly, which makes me laugh even more. The others agree. After we calmed down, no one says anything more.
"Where's Derek?" cloè breaks the awkward silence. What if they mean?
"I don't know, he should be here soon." Cole replies with a shrug. Who is this Derek?
"I'm off, I have to get the books out of the locker." I said goodbye to them.
"Wait, I'll come with you. I have to get my books too." says Maddy and gets up quickly. We leave the cafeteria together.

Finally. end of school About time. It rang five minutes ago, but no, my history teacher said yes, 'I'm finishing the lesson'. How I hate that phrase. But when she finally let us go, I stormed out of the classroom. The corridors are now totally empty. Maddy and I are walking towards the exit when I hear something growling behind me. I turn around in surprise, as does maddy. He's behind me. He growls at us and comes closer. What does he want please? Why is he here at this school? Great.
"Derek, calm down." maddy says smack, but Derek ignores it skillfully. So Derek. So my mate Derek found me too.
"Mine." he growls. Slit his eyes to cover the black eyes. Sina, Cole and Hunter appear behind him. Everyone looks at him with big eyes.
"Mine." he growls again and takes steps closer. I take a few steps back, although I would love to run towards him and never let go. Breathe in. Exhale. I have to act like a human and people would be terrified right now.
"W-wwwwhat do you want?" I try to say it as hermaphrodite as possible. He doesn't answer and comes closer and closer. Behind me I feel the cold metal of the lockers. Shit. If I run out now, they'll know I'm a wolf.
"Derek. Calm down. You're scaring her." says Hunter this time. But Derek keeps getting closer. A few centimeters separate us from each other. Suddenly he wraps his strong arms around me and pulls me towards him. His head lands in the crook of my neck where he inhales my scent like a medicine he couldn't live without. I felt so safe and secure. I never want to leave here. Never. But I have to. I have to act like an anxious person. With all the strength I manage to have against my mate, I push him away. Unfortunately, that's not much.
"L-llas me lo-oos. Please." I begged him. I can't, but I can't tell him that. I want him and I need him, but I can't. My wolf breaks at this thought. I'm breaking inside, but I have to act like this. I am nothing to him. This isn't going well. With all these thoughts, tears roll down my cheeks and I start to sob.
"Derek. Let her go. She's scared of you." says Cole and wants to grab Derek's shoulder. But Derek growls at him very dangerously and pulls me even closer to him.
"No one touches her. She's mine." he growls and puts his head back in the crook of my neck. "Mine." he says contentedly AS he inhales my scent deeply. I push him away again. Tears are still streaming down my cheeks, but I don't care.
"I don't belong to anyone. Let me go you nutcase." I yelled angrily. But mad at me. I was so angry at myself for the words. I break down because I don't accept my mate. Well done Kim. But is there a better way? No not.
Derek lets go of me and looks at me in shock. He mumbles something like 'I'm sorry' or 'oh god she's scared of me'. Well done kim. Now he feels guilty.
