The first rays of sun tickled my nose and I sucked in the smell of wet forest. It rained last night and now the scent draws me outside.
I quickly pushed back the covers and jumped out of bed excitedly. I wanted to go for a run, it's been way too long since I last let my wolf out. In addition, I am now finally in a pack, which also has a wide territory. Perfect for getting enough exercise.
Steven in the bed next to me started lolling. Apparently I woke him up with this action, but whatever.
Since I was still naked from yesterday's dalliance, I didn't need to undress anymore, so I went straight to the patio door and pulled it open. Then I ran out into the forest and transformed.
I kept running across the damp moss floor. I was finally able to run without paying attention to where the next territory borders are, as the Silverstorm pack's territory was large and very extensive. I stuck my nose further forward and enjoyed the wind in my fur. How beautiful this freedom is.
Behind me, far away, a wolf howled suddenly, causing me to stop in my run. I didn't have to guess who was calling for me. To answer, I tilted my head back and howled back, then ran again. Steven would find me.
However, it wasn't long before I could see a shadow next to me. A few seconds later, the cappuchino-colored wolf nudged me from the side and we rolled across the forest floor together.
After we rolled out, I lay on my back with Steven's wolf form over me. We just looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds before I tried to get up. Steven, however, wouldn't let that happen because he suddenly lay down on me with his whole body weight and rested his head on my stomach. Then he pulled his ears back and gave me a doggie look while whining.
He really just looked adorable. How can you have such a hot and cute mate at the same time? It's a real girl's dream.
I poked my head a little closer to Steven so I could lick his nose. Steven just straightened up in response and did the same to me.
He was so distracted by this that I jumped back up and ran again. Let's see which of us is faster. 'Cause I can be pretty quick when I want to.
"Catch me!" I sent him via Mindlink and then ran away from him at my fastest pace. He would never catch me. I was just way too fast for that.
"What do I get for this?" Steven wanted to know. Nevertheless, he picked up the pace and followed me.
"Me," I said seductively through the mindlink, and kept running, trying to pick up some more speed.
Of course it was unfair for me and I knew Steven would have to catch me soon. Still, I was able to put up with him for a while. Sure, I was fast, but unfortunately I lacked stamina.
I kept running and took my mate by the way, who gave me a bit of distance. Then I realized why he hasn't caught up with me yet. He did it on purpose. He wanted me to feel faster than him, until he'll probably just ambush me like that.
When I realized that, I reflexively stopped my movement and my mate ran into me full force.
Again we ended up both on the floor, only this time it was Steven who was on the bottom.
"I got you ," he whispered to me via Mindlink.
I licked his nose again and then got off him to check out the area we landed in.
My mouth dropped open in amazement. In front of us stretched a huge crystal clear lake. Cliffs could be seen on the far bank, with the forest stretching out further. Everything looked so hidden and magical. It was amazing.
"Where are we?" I asked in amazement.
Steven stood next to me and looked around.
"It's one of the boundaries of our territory. On the other side begins the territory of the Blackshadow pack." , he answered me and snuggled his snout on my head.
I didn't think long, but kept walking towards the lake in front of us. It was beautiful and the morning sun was reflecting in there making a magical play of light.
I then stopped on the shore of the lake and watched my wolf form reflected in the water. My silver fur shone in the sun and you could see pure happiness in my eyes. I was perfectly happy.
Was it all because I was with my mate? I've never been happier in my life than I am with him now. He is my pure happiness. I couldn't live without him anymore.
Suddenly I felt a push from behind and a second later I dived into the cool water in front of me. Luckily it wasn't deep and I could stand well in my wolf form, but I was now soaking wet.
When I stood up and looked at the culprit, I noticed that he had already jumped into the water next to me and was shaking his wet fur.
"Steven!" I whined. The water was really cold.
Steven, however, just pushed more water at me with his snout, so that everything splashed in my face.
Revenge. This calls for revenge!
I did the same and jumped around him in the shallow water, trying to splash a slug of water in his face again and again, which I managed.
Then I stopped and snuggled up to my wet mate, who just leaned back against me.
"I love you," I shared, then jumped out of the water. When it was dry, I shook out my fur and ran full speed back to the pack house. This calls for a second race.
"Who'll be home first." I said and ran on over the meanwhile dried ground. I felt the wind in my fur again, which was beginning to dry it and behind me I heard the paws of my mate hitting the Forest floor It was all perfect Everything I loved was here near me My mate and my freedom.
Again he could have easily caught me, but he let me win.
With dry feet and naked, I opened the terrace door, which Steven must have closed beforehand, and ran into our room, to our closet, to get something to wear from there. By now, half the closet was filled with my stuff. Some things were also from Aurelia, which she no longer wore because some things were probably too impractical as a full-time mother. And by the looks of it, she would soon be wearing only maternity clothes again. The poor thing really doesn't have it easy with a wolf like that as a mate.
