Surely my brother didn't really want to leave me to that disgusting redhead? But hey, luckily he gave me some time, because the full moon is only a few hours away. Irony lives on.
Once inside, I went straight to my room, which I shared with Mara, another outcast. Mara was several years older than me, she's 27 to be precise. Despite the big age difference, she was sort of my best friend.
Mara was expelled from her pack about 8 years ago. She told me she killed her mate after he raped and forcibly tagged her. I can understand why she did it. Still, part of me couldn't believe a mate would even do that to their loved one. Hopefully my mate won't be like that. If I ever meet him at all and Devin hasn't taken me as his mate before.
I laid down on my narrow bed which was on the right corner of the small room and tried to make a plan how to show Devin that he can't have me. I mean I don't belong to anyone but myself and Devin treats me like an object that he can own and use to produce puppies.
Suddenly the door opened and Mara came into our room with a towel in her hand. She was scrubbing off her short, tousled black hair, which was wet and indicated that she was in the shower. We had to share the bathroom with the other females in our pack, which fortunately were not many.
"Are we going for a run today?" she asked after seeing me.
"I don't think my brother will let me. After all, he's been wanting to mate me with Devin lately.", replied with a roll of his eyes. Outwardly I just seemed annoyed, but inside I was a little scared that Devin would deny me the chance of ever meeting my soulmate.
"Oh come on. Devin isn't that bad and after all someone has to take care of successors if your brother doesn't do it."
Were you fucking serious? She slouched over to them? She probably knows better than anyone else what it's like not to do something voluntarily.
"Honestly now?" I asked a bit angrily, but Mara's brown eyes were completely unimpressed by my statement and she just shrugged her shoulders.
I left my room angry at her, my brother, Devin and the rest of the world. I didn't even bother to get dressed, but stormed back outside to transform myself back into my silver wolf.
Jaxon and Devin were still standing here, watching me charge into the woods.
"Don't go too far!" My brother's voice warned me in my head.
Like I'd take the risk of getting caught by the pack around here. We were lucky with this old house. Because the area where we were currently staying didn't seem to belong to any pack. It wasn't very big, so my father tried to enlarge it at the time, which obviously went wrong, but it was enough for my brother to declare it our new home.
I kept walking through the forest. Soon I had to change direction because I was getting closer and closer to the strange pack. As already said, 'our' territory isn't that big, so we couldn't walk very far.
I had just reached the border and wanted to turn around immediately, but bright colors lured my eyes to a clearing where all kinds of flowers were growing.
Without thinking about the risk, I moved towards the flower meadow, guided by these many bright colors.
But when I entered, I was shocked. A young woman with golden blond hair stood with her back to me in front of a cross that was stuck in the ground. Luckily she didn't seem to notice me, so I decided to move a little closer.
Then I could see what was written on the grave.

I couldn't watch the scene in front of me any longer, because suddenly a deep growl sounded next to me, which made the woman turn around in fright. When she turned around, I could make out a clearly pronounced bulge in her stomach. she was pregnant
Only then did I turn to the growl.
A rather large black intimidating wolf came towards me with puckered lips. The power he radiated could only be the Alpha. And the way the woman smelled, she was his mate. His pregnant mate! Oh oh...
Such a crap. What was I thinking, coming here? I would never survive that in my life.
Such a giant ant poop. Shouldn't that be true now? Why did I have to run into the alpha of all people and then in the presence of his pregnant companion. With his protective instincts, I couldn't survive today.
Instead of running away like normal wolves in my situation, I did the only right thing. I made myself small and exposed my neck in front of him. I also started whining when he approached me, trying to beg for my life. But the growl only got louder.
Again, all of this could only happen to me.
Just when I thought my last minute had come, the pregnant woman's soft voice rang out.
"Arsenic!", she admonished and immediately the alpha stopped growling. Shortly thereafter his bones cracked and the black fur around his body became less until he finally stood in front of me as a human.
With a jerk, he grabbed my neck and yelled in a dominant tone, "Transform!"
I couldn't resist, so I turned back the way he wanted. Now I crouched before him, naked and vulnerable, just waiting for his fatal blow. But that didn't happen.
"What pack are you from?" he asked in a deep, stern voice.
Only now did I realize that he couldn't recognize me as a packless one, since I didn't have yellow eyes in my wolf form. This was my chance.
"I'm from the..." I had to think for a moment, since we always called our pack the outcast pack and I couldn't possibly tell him that. "...Stone pack." I just use my last name.
"Never heard of that," the Alpha growled in front of me, gripping my neck tighter to pull my head up so that I had to stare into his red, anger-filled eyes.
"W-we're a-new pack," I stuttered out.
The alpha held my head down briefly and then let go before continuing. "You should learn where the limits are, young wolf."
Then he went to his mate and took her in his arms. I didn't pay any more attention to the two, but transformed myself back and ran towards home.
Home was not far away when I caught a glimpse of the full moon rising in the corner of my eye. Now it was time. I'm becoming a bitch in heat and had to try to keep the mutts off my back. How I love full moon.
The full moons before that, I usually locked myself in my room, but I didn't know how this night would end. After all, Devin wants to lay claim to me today.
Then I heard the first wolf howl, which sounded next to me. He had to be. He was probably already waiting for me.
I tried to keep going. Maybe I'll manage to barricade myself in my room in time. But then, unexpectedly, something hit me from the side, throwing me off balance and rolling across the mossy ground.
When I looked up I saw the reddish wolf coming towards me.
Shit, now I wanted him after all. He looked so manly in the moonlight. that big He would dominate me like a real wolf.
I willingly turned on my stomach and stuck my butt out to him. He came closer and sniffed my bottom. Meanwhile, I was purring like a cat in heat.
