"We will have your gear ready for you, what do you need?"
"I brought my own buddy," said the man as he moved towards the back of the car, while Jessica had already taken out his case.
Then Jiaxi opened the case and took out a short-barrelled rifle made of half-metal... and then inserted a magazine.
"A short-barrel semi-automatic rifle, where did you get that from?"
"It’s a prototype gun just successfully tested by a subsidiary of the Special Operations Division, given to us field guys to try out. Those generals always say, letting the soldiers use these things is like having them waste bullets," the young man laughed and added, "Those old farts older than my grandfather don’t know shit."
"Suppressing the enemy with the firepower in a unit time is the correct way to use what’s in your hand," Malin said as he caught the shotgun Jessica tossed to him.
"Right, I can hit the target fifty meters away with these ten bullets in ten seconds," Jiaxi said, looking at Malin: "Didn’t you see the same thing from the Dwarves?"
"No, but I think this is the future direction of firearm development," Malin said seriously to Jiaxi—the history of Earth’s firearms development had made it clear to Malin that bolt-action rifles would eventually be replaced by semi-automatic and automatic ones except in some situations requiring high precision.
"I think so too, but the bullets for this thing are pretty tricky to come by," Jiaxi mentioned this issue with regret.
Malin then evaluated the caliber of the weapon in his hand: "7 millimeter?"

"Is the logistics department under a lot of pressure?" Malin asked.

With a sigh, Malin considered the semi-automatic in the kid’s hand, the Revolver at his waist, and the double-barrel Shotgun he carried on his back—one person, three kinds of ammunition. Malin hadn’t even counted their Armor-Piercing Bullets and Hollow Point Bullets. Malin was sure, by the time this kid went to collect ammunition, that storekeeper must have already been twisting.
"Let’s go, I’ll lead the way." Malin led the team to the front door and tore off the seal: "Jiaxi, I’ll enter first to check the basement entrance, cover my right."
"Jessica, take the Shield and check the ceiling for us."
"Okay." Jessica had already changed into heavy armor and put on a full-face helmet, using an independent observation Spell Formation inside to confirm his vision.
"Maya, follow Jessica. If you confirm targets on the ceiling, take them down," Malin looked back at his sister.
Maya nodded, lightning dancing on her fingertips, obviously eager to start.
"Faye, follow Maya, help her deal with any enemies that might slip through, then you’ll enter the basement with me."
Faye nodded, having donned her battle dress, and pulled up the hood, her World Tree mask coming down.
"Lillim, you watch our retreat, and don’t forget to maintain your mechanical mind Spell Formation."
Lillim nodded firmly, then gave a pat to both Malin and Faye.
After the briefing, Malin set the shotgun aside, hung another Shotgun with a hanging strap at his side, and combined Fio with Blood Roar.
Then he released another World Tree Sapling, Lorrin, to wrap around the Hammer’s handle.
Standard procedure, the sweeping Hammer turned the door into history, as Malin holding the Shotgun rushed through the wood splinters and dust into the hall, the illuminating flare he casually threw out had already started working, lighting up the somewhat dim hall. Meanwhile, Malin had already noticed the creature near the door to his left.
It had a pitch-black appearance, slender limbs, elongated body, long head, and a horrifying mouthpart that was opening.
In that moment, time seemed to slow down, Malin pulled the trigger of the Shotgun all the way, four Hollow Point Bullets shot out together, knocking that frightful creature to the ground.
"Enemy confirmed!" Malin recognized it—Alien.
Is it a solitary individual or is there a queen?
As Malin thought this, he began reloading while moving forward, Lorrin, having thrown away the Hammer, drew two double-barrel Shotguns from Malin’s waist, and rushed toward the still-struggling creature. Fio was even quicker, leaping high, its jumping cleave separated the creature’s head from its neck.
"Incoming enemy on the right!" Jiaxi shouted loudly, his semi-automatic rifle starting to fire in a series.
Lorrin turned, firing into the blind spot in Malin’s line of sight.
"No targets on the ceiling... There are creatures on the second floor! They’re jumping down!" Jessica issued a warning, "Make way! Maya’s starting her work!"
Malin, who had been about to turn, stopped his movement and moved to the left. As he finished reloading, he began to check if there were any Alien ambushes on the left, while glancing at the far end of the hall—Maya’s lightning arrows went to work, turning a jumping Alien into a charred corpse first, then she started to turn, with relentless lightning arrows changing the police officers’ desks to past tense, ultimately severing another Alien that started to dodge sideways.
