Star Wars: Daimon's Story Chapter 79

Gathering in the adjacent system known as Hydrus, the Imperium and the Coalition forces had gathered on the planet of Cresa, a planet that was formerly a battle slave hive world. Now the planet hosted the leaders of the Coalition and the Imperium who were planning for their final battle with the Abominor. Other factions taking part in this were the Republic, who contributed as much as they could in the war. Several hundred Jedi and hundreds of thousands of volunteers from across the Republic had joined the Imperium in its war. Their presence didn’t affect the war as the Imperium had enough warriors and enough Force Users placed throughout the Armed Forces. Still, they fought with as much conviction as the Imperium did, earning them recognition from several high-ranking Officers. The Abominor never made it to Republic territory because they were busy dealing with the Imperium and the Coalition. This was both a win and a loss for the Republic. It was a win because they didn’t have to worry about fighting a war, but a loss because they wouldn’t gain any new planets and resources from this conflict. They assumed that most of these planets would go to the Imperium and not the Coalition. The introduction of the Coalition and its empires to the Republic went pretty well. Considering the fact that the Republic was much larger than the Imperium, they were able to make some favorable trade deals and other agreements with the Coalition of Free Stars and Varraxian Technocracy, while the Kingdom of Rylothis and Theocratic Dominion of Kalyndra took a more cautious approach to the Republic due to their politics. It was pretty much the same way for the Imperium. They maintained a good relationship now because it was required for their survival, but once this war was over, prospects would probably change. Within a massive hall on Cresa General Aelric Varros, one of Daimon’s trusted generals, looked around the chamber as he entered. His eyes caught every detail—the way Coalition engineers whispered over holomaps, the subtle nods exchanged between diplomats weighing political costs even before the war’s conclusion. He turned to his adjutant, a young officer named Kallin. "It’s ironic, isn’t it?" Varros murmured, "A planet where slaves once fought for their lives now hosts those who hold hundreds of worlds fate in their hands." Kallin glanced at him, her expression unreadable beneath her helmet. "Perhaps it’s fitting," she replied after a moment. "Sacrifice is still at the heart of it all." Varros nodded thoughtfully before stepping further into the hall. The Imperium and Coalition leaders had gathered for a military meeting to propose their battle plans for the battle and then decided which one they all liked the most. The vast assembly hall was filled with strategic holomaps, real-time intel updates, and an air of intense focus. At the central dais stood Daimon, flanked by the other Progenitors—Raelos Vyn, Darek Thalor, Malis Kaevor, and Syra Veyra—and the coalition leaders: Supreme Commander Marrek, High Oracle Seraphine, King Zal’Torak, Councilor Yllaris, and Technarch Nysar. Supreme Commander Marrek stepped forward first, activating his holomap. "Velon-3 is not merely fortified, it’s a living fortress. Preliminary scans show billions of battle droids, heavily shielded installations, and defenses designed specifically to disrupt Force-based attacks." "Our recommendation," Marrek continued, "is a multi-vector strike—coalition forces engage orbital platforms directly, drawing attention. Meanwhile, precision infiltration teams target the anti-Force installations. Once disabled, our Force-sensitive warriors can engage openly." Technarch Nysar interjected next. "The Varraxian Technocracy advocates heavy cyberwarfare operations. Given time, our ships can infiltrate and destabilize their planetary network, significantly reducing droid combat efficiency." King Zal’Torak offered his proposal with bluntness. "Direct planetary assault. We land massive waves of troops simultaneously across strategic points, overwhelming their defenses. Casualties will be high, but we’ll break their back swiftly." High Oracle Seraphine presented a more nuanced approach. "Our seers have identified key command nexuses, including a central AI core beneath Velon-3’s capital city. Striking these targets first would disorient the enemy long enough for ground forces to establish secure footholds." Daimon analyzed each plan, considering their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, he stepped forward, activating a detailed hologram of Velon-3, displaying key strategic zones. "Each plan has merit," Daimon began, "But the Abominor expect conventional assaults. We must control the battlefield entirely, minimizing casualties." Daimon’s plan was detailed: Distraction and Cyber Assault: Coalition and Varraxian Technocracy fleets launch simultaneous orbital attacks and cyber assaults, crippling communications and orbital defenses, creating confusion without engaging in protracted battle. Precision Orbital Bombardment: Imperial fleets execute precision strikes against identified anti-Force installations, disabling Abominor counters without massive civilian casualties. Elite Ground Forces and Infiltration: Ascendants, Imperial Order members, Jedi, and elite Coalition troops would infiltrate at key strategic points—AI cores, power nodes, and droid manufacturing plants—to sabotage or destroy them, ensuring swift collapse of enemy command and logistical capabilities. Daimon’s Direct Intervention: Daimon himself would directly engage and neutralize the primary planetary command AI. His immense Force power would neutralize any immediate counters the Abominor had prepared specifically against Force users. Mass Ground Assault Post-Infiltration: With enemy command disrupted, coalition and Imperial troops conduct controlled, simultaneous landings at secured zones, establishing fortified perimeters and rapidly expanding outward. "By controlling battlefield tempo and neutralizing their specialized defenses immediately," Daimon concluded, "we minimize losses and maximize operational effectiveness. This approach leverages our combined strengths without unnecessarily endangering lives." A brief silence followed as the room processed his plan. Finally, Supreme Commander Marrek stepped forward. "I see no better alternative. It is ambitious but achievable. The Concordat supports Daimon’s strategy." Technarch Nysar nodded approvingly. "Logical and efficient. The Varraxian Technocracy votes in favor." High Oracle Seraphine bowed slightly, "The Force guides us to this path. The Dominion agrees." Councilor Yllaris, representing the Coalition of Free Stars, spoke. "We’ve trusted your leadership thus far. Your plan aligns with our ideals of minimal casualties. We stand with you." King Zal’Torak grunted, conceding. "Risky but calculated. The Kingdom of Rylothis supports your strategy." One by one, every leader and officer present voiced unanimous approval. Daimon inclined his head respectfully, recognizing the unity achieved in the room. "Prepare your forces," Daimon commanded. "Tomorrow, we will strike Velon-3. Together, we end this war." A united cheer erupted as the military leaders were eager for this final battle. Meanwhile the various leaders and politicians who were either present physically or via holo were planning for the post war rewards. There were approximately 500 worlds habitable worlds that would be put up for negotiation. Now 300 of these worlds were controlled by the Imperium, which was a problem for the Coalition as the various politicians didn’t want them to be so close to their border. They wanted to control these worlds to rebuild their infrastructure and establish control over key resources and strategic choke points. While these plans were being whispered throughout the halls, Daimon went back to his room to enjoy a night with Elara before the next day came. For much of the war she worked with her daughter Princess Luna to coordinate the war effort. They oversaw numerous projects and construction efforts, establishing new fleets and creating new weapons to combat the Abominor. Luna remained in Imperium space while Elara had come to participate in the post war talks. Daimon trusted her with these kinds of talks so he would just sit back while she directed everything. If something wasn’t going the way he wanted, then he would interject. On a hidden world, located in an unknown system, the Silentium, the complete opposites of the Abominor watched in secret as they were about to collapse. Unlike the chaotic driven Abominor, the Silentium were more conservative and managed to stay away from the organics of the galaxy as they considered themselves to be foreign invaders to a galaxy that is not their own. They colonized an uninhabited system and brought back their species from the brink of extinction, cutting off all hyperlanes to their system. And for millennia, they stayed hidden never once venturing out of the system or being contacted by other organics. A big reason for them wanting to stay secluded was due to the fact that their previous war with the Abominor caused an organic species to rise up and oust both of them from their galaxy. Now, they wanted to avoid that and just live in seclusion. Watching the Imperium and Coalition forces beat back the Abominor was a pleasant sight as they wouldn’t have to worry about them becoming a threat again. For now... observation would suffice for them.
