Star Wars: Daimon's Story Chapter 66

The people that were enslaved by the Elder Tribe were transported to the fleet to undergo their re-integration program. First, they went through a quarantine process where they were checked for diseases and other stuff. Once that was done, they were treated carefully and put through a program where they would learn the Imperium's language, their minds would be erased from their past as slaves, and they would be able to start their new lives in a couple of months. For the members of the Elder Tribe who were captured, they were held in captivity on the planet as the Imperium did its work. The bunker was transformed into an Imperial outpost and would serve as the focal point for Imperium operations. It would have an operations center and eventually an indoctrination facility where primitive Rakata would go and become reformed Rakata. With both the Star Forge and the homeworld of the Rakata species now fully under the control of the Imperium, Daimon returned back to the Star Forge and left Lehon to one his commanders. Back on the Star Forge, he walked around the station with Cortana surveying the locations of the station and the plans she had already come up with. "I must say, the station is impressive for being built over 20,000 years ago, but it's still lacking somethings that I plan to improve upon." She said this as they approached one of the production sections of the station where ships, droids, and other equipment could be produced en mass. "This section is one of the many sections where production happens," Cortana explained, gesturing to the assembly bays. "But the command interfaces are archaic, and while the forges are technically capable of near infinite production, the station's system is fragmented. We would need to rewrite and create new systems which could take decades depending on how successful and how much resources we pour into this station." Daimon thought about possible solutions. Right now, the station was not a top priority as the Imperium was still in its developing stages, but they could still divert some resources over to initiate the reconstruction process. "Have Engineering queue up a renovation schedule. I'll create a new operating system for the entire station to replace the old one." Cortana nodded, "I'll mobilize the work teams. Once we come up with a detailed plan, I'll present it to you for review and any final edits you may have." Daimon nodded as they continued to the other sections of the station. Over 12 hours, they visited the fighter bays, docking ports, and the place where the energy from the star was converted into matter for the station. The station also had some rooms for people to sleep in and various other places. After touring the station, Daimon returned to his flagship and returned to Imperium space, leaving the matter of the Rakata to his subordinates. On Coruscant, the Jedi Order had been taking a more active role in the republic since their reorganization after the Hundred Years of Darkness. The Jedi Temple on Coruscant was expanded and would house many Knights and Masters. But it would be nowhere near as the Central Jedi Temple on Ossus. Ossus would remain the seat of the Jedi High Council giving the Jedi Order more freedom as they had their own planet to do what they please. The previous Chancellors of the Republic had created a position within the Office of the Chancellor called the Jedi Advisor. This position permitted two high ranking members of the Jedi Order to become advisors to the Chancellor and have some form of say in the ongoings of the Republic. Both of the two current advisors viewed the arrangement with pragmatism. The Chancellors were delighted with their presence at public functions and state debates. Half the time, he would draw them into the spotlight simply for the spectacle: the legendary Jedi and their enigmatic wisdom and unique religion. The other half, Chancellors kept them close for insight, shrewdly knowing that Jedi had informants and reach even the Senate's own security couldn't match. One of the Masters, Master Hadrex, played her part being polite and reserved. In private, she loathed the little fishbowl in the Office of the Chancellor with its constant monitoring and news hounds, but she recognized the necessity of her position. She spent her time as an advisor with transparency, answering every question with precisely as much as she wished to say and never a word more. Master Shatar, on the other hand, relished the unpredictable gamesmanship. He would make jokes, speak in parables, befuddle staffers, and subtly steer policy in direction nobody realized until days later. On the surface, he was an iron-willed Jedi with his actual loyalty to the Order. The position of Jedi Advisor was sort of permanent for the appointed Masters as they were the wisest of the Jedi and were at an age where they understood the politics of the Republic. This arrangement was beneficial to the Jedi Grandmaster, who found it a good way to avoid the entanglements of overt political control while remaining close to the engine room of policy. And for the time being, the Republic kept its peace. The border between Imperium and Republic was stable, with trade flowing and no real conflicts aside from the usual economic and social frictions at the edges of civilization. It was only in the academic and scientific communities that a storm was brewing, largely unnoticed by those who counted credits and votes. The news of the Imperium's progress within the unknown regions of space sent ripples through every research institution in the galaxy. They scrambled to keep up with Imperium's exploration technology and they managed to make significant breakthroughs speeding up their own exploration, but it was still a slow process to explore the vast expanses of space not knowing what you're going to encounter or when you're going to encounter it. On Korriban, the Sith Empire was still in its early stages of development but had begun its expansion into the surrounding planets and a few systems. For the most part, the Sith of Korriban remained a secret, their numbers few and isolated. But they followed the same patterns of any rising order: first the temple, then the doctrine of might, then, sooner or later, the lust for conquest. The Dark Lord of the Sith Sorzus Syn, ruled from the Sith Palace and had already started gathering Force-sensitives from among the Sith population. Many of the Sith Lords began to interbreed with the Sith, accelerating the rise of a generation inherently strong with the Force. Sorzus recognized early that sustained expansion required structured governance. Thus, each member of the Sith Council governed a specific domain of Sith society, military affairs, intelligence, arcane research, and internal stability. This structure centralized authority, yet encouraged ruthless competition, ensuring only the strongest rise to prominence. Expansion began with nearby worlds. Sith reconnaissance ships, surveyed neighboring systems, pinpointing vulnerable civilizations ripe for conquest. Once targets were identified, Sith battle groups swiftly descended, demonstrating overwhelming might combined with psychological terror tactics. Entire planets capitulated within days, with minimal resistance. Colonized worlds underwent swift transformations. Sith architecture dominated skylines with massive fortresses demonstrating the Sith Lords power. Indigenous populations, initially resistant, soon learned submission through systematic indoctrination programs, much like the Imperium's own methods, though more overtly brutal. They were reshaped into obedient vassals, fueling Sith industry, agriculture, and military training. On Korriban itself, training academies increased in number. The Sith Lords oversaw rigorous, often lethal, trials designed to forge warriors of unmatched strength and cruelty. Apprentices who survived became fanatically loyal agents, carrying their masters' wills into the galaxy. Holocrons containing forbidden knowledge were carefully crafted and disseminated, enhancing Sith learning, philosophy, and Force mastery. The growth of Sith naval power soon followed. Shipyards orbited Korriban, tirelessly constructing dreadnoughts and frigates bristling with weaponry derived from rediscovered Sith alchemy and dark-side-infused metallurgy. These vessels projected their reach into the nearby systems, ensuring dominance over conquered territories and intimidation of prospective foes. Their growth was closely watched by Daimon who monitored the changes that occurred with them compared to Cannon Star Wars. If his visions of the future were correct, then it would be very interesting to see how the Great Hyperspace War went with both the Jedi Order and Sith Order being different from Cannon. It would be another 1900 years or so before the two factions discovered each other so it gave the Sith ample time to build up their strength.
