Space Odyssey: Spectre Chapter 209

As Jace walked in the direction that the AI was directing him he pulled the railgun from his back and put a bullet in. "Spectre Jace to Cerberus Squad, check in." Jace ordered as Uti followed behind him and readied his own weapons. "Jace, it is good to hear your voice." Vana was the first to speak, "unfortunately we have been making slow progress up the stairs. But a moment ago we were given an actual objective location. Do you know what that is about?" She asked in confusion. "That is the location of one of the Elders. Myself and Uti are on the way to the other one that is in the building. We are also getting tactical support from an AI that they had plugged into the building. Josef is staying to guard it. Have you encountered the red laser turrets?" Jace asked as he turned a corner and entered a large extravagant hall with a set of elevators behind him. At the end of the hall they could see two Tacole’s in shining gold armor with large spears or something that looked like a spear. Jace pulled electricity from the building and started putting it in the railgun as he walked forward. Uti stepped away almost like he could sense something was wrong. Meanwhile at the end of the hall, the two Tacole’s noticed them and pointed their spears forward, "Halt! In the name of Elder Pi’ali, we demand you identify yourself!" They yelled in unison. "Hi! I am Spectre Jace, I am here to kill you all!" Jace informed them as he raised the railgun and fired it. With a contained environment where air could not escape quickly the pressure from the weapon was monstrous. A beam of blue cut through the hallway and slammed into the extravagantly designed gold doors that the Tacole’s were guarding. The hallway itself began warping at the end point where the railgun ended. The walls, roof, and floor were all slightly warped outward. While there was a spider web of cracks where Jace was standing. They covered not just the floor but went to the walls and roof as well. While Uti was dazed from the noise alone and was shaking his head to ward off the dizziness. The Tacoles that were guarding the door were gone. Just gone while the door and wall where they were had been completely destroyed. It did not stop there either. The path of destruction continued until they could see natural light outside. The communication channels began buzzing and lit up with activity. While his own squad were yelling. "What the hell was that? It felt like part of the building just exploded!" Charlie yelled over the channel. "Part of it did." Jace answered as he walked along the path of destruction to the room that used to have the Elder. He looked at his Railgun, he had overcharged it a bit too much. The electro magnetic components had melted inward on itself. He let it cool down for a moment before moving it to his back. "I accidentally overcharged the Railgun." Jace informed them as he arrived at the doorway. He saw that the Tacole guards had been thrown down the hallway on either side of them. Both were not moving. "I will make sure they are dead." Uti offered before Jace gave a nod in approval before he walked into the destroyed room. Inside the room were plenty of corpses and dead enemy soldiers. Although there might have been some that were not enemies. If he was being completely honest he did not expect the railgun to charge up so quickly, it caught him off guard. There were no recognizable markings but then he heard a slight creak and looked over to see a hunched over creature exiting from a room. They looked around in confusion before looking at Jace and doing what Jace would equate to a nervous swallow. Jace interacted with his heads up display as he observed the old... Tacole? Was this a Tacole? It looked like it, but it was far too small and it was hunched over. He then began transmitting his helmet footage directly to Isaiah back up on the Venture. "Spectre Jace to General Isaiah, I need confirmation that this is one of the Elders." Jace requested while he walked towards the quivering old man and grabbed him by the arm. He then dragged him out of whatever room he was inside of which looked strange to him. He then walked to the center of the room while he looked a bit more closely around the room to make sure there were no other survivors. "Spectre Jace, that is Pi’ali, what happened to his guards? Of all the Elders he was supposed to have the most." Isaiah pointed out. Which Jace could honestly agree with as he slowly turned around in the room. There were body parts and corpses strewn about the room. He could tell that it was originally a large open chamber with probably something on the wall that he destroyed. But now that had been destroyed and instead the walls, floor, and even the ceiling had bodies or body parts covering it. As he was looking around he saw an arm from one of the many Victorium species fall to the ground. "Nevermind," There was a sigh over the communication line he had established with the General. "Execute him and keep recording. We will broadcast it later to demoralize the enemy." General Isaiah’s voice switched as he made an order. Jace nodded his head in confirmation and dragged the Elder to the large open hole in the wall that he had made. "Please human! You do not understand! The Ancients wanted us to rule over your and all others. You are not worthy to even wield one of their weapons. You must understand." The elder began pleading with him. But it was undoubtedly the worst pleading he had ever heard. He has heard plenty of pleading because of his experience as a torturer. Jace positioned the Elder at the edge of the hole and stepped back. He went to raise his weapon but then he thought of something the Elder had just said. He put away his Wildfire assault rifle. The elder immediately misunderstood, "thank you human, I promise we will be benevolent masters of your-" The elder stopped mid-sentence as Jace materialized a longsword in his hands. "No...no... No!" His anger started off quiet and then grew until he was the equivalent of what Jace figured was red in the face. Jace stepped forward and raised his longsword overhead. While the Elder had gone from begging to bewildered and angry. "You humans are meant to be ruled by-" SHLICK! His sword cut the elder from head to crotch in one easy swing. An appropriate comparison for cutting the elder in half was that it felt like cutting butter. The last expression on the elder’s face was one of surprise. The body stayed standing for a few seconds. Then it fell backwards out of the giant hole. Jace walked forward and looked down out of the hole as the body fell apart mid air and each half began bounding off protrusions of the giant church that they were inside of. He then switched off his broadcasting helmet camera. "Was that enough?" Jace asked as he walked back to the entrance of the room. Just in time because Uti walked to the entrance with a spear in hand and had somehow become covered in even more blood. His Ola compatriot looked somewhat silly holding this spear that was meant for a full grown Tacole. "It was, it will send quite the message. Solisa has informed me that they have located the third Elder that was in the building Elder Joza. He has already sent a few messages and wishes to surrender. We want you to go and retrieve him." General Isaiah informed Jace as Jace and Uti began walking back down the hall they went through earlier. Those elevators they passed would let them go up to a higher floor. "How are the others doing with the other Elder?" Jace asked as he dematerialized the longsword and pulled the Wildfire assault rifle from his back. He was aware the other group led by Nila were heading toward the other Elder but he was also sure that it would not take long now that they knew where the enemy was hiding. "Imper- I mean Nila is currently preparing her plan to acquire Elder Electanisa." General seemed to nearly slip up as he used what must be a title that might not mean much to him. "According to Solisa it is a hilarious plan that has her keeping it a secret because it will be more humorous later." Jace audibly sighed and went to rub his head but stopped. "Fine. So Uti and I are going to head up to... does that say private council chamber?" Jace asked as he glanced over at Uti who shrugged, he had been speaking both out loud and over the communication channel.
