Jace climbed out of the pilot's seat. He walked back to the back just as he could hear the sound of laser firing hitting the side of the ship that was not leaning up against the tank that had stopped their crash.
In the hold the Ola and Tacole were both recovering from the crash with shaking hands and groaning. Jace went to the side door and wrapped his gloved fist against it. He could already tell this was not coming off without a considerable amount of force. While the transport's exterior could withstand this level of power for a few minutes.
Jace pulled the Wildfire assault rifle off his back and looked it over before glancing at the Tacole and Ola, who were beginning to stand. "Tell me when you are able to move and listen without issue. We will need to move soon."
The Ola, his friendly tag designation had the name Uti, was the first one to recover. "Understood sir, but how and where are we going?"
"First we need to get inside of the main structure. Then we will have to figure out what to do from there." Jace continued after a moment, "But even then it will be a fight to get to the front door. So I need you both up and aware before we start."
The Tacole, his friendly tag designation had the name Josef, he had started to recover as well. He stood up shakily and raised his weapon and then began making adjustments and pulling out other equipment from his person. Turning it from what looked like a small assault rifle into a larger weapon. "I am ready."
"You are still hooked up to the roof of the transport, maybe you should take care of that first." Jace told them with a chuckle. Uti grunted and pulled out something that cut the line and then he took off the part that was wrapped around his midsection. While Josef just unhooked it while saying something quietly in a language Jace did not speak.
Once they were situated Jace prepared to open the door when there was a creaking and the transport moved slightly. Then it flipped over, landing on the roof of the transport he glanced at Uti and Josef who were already pulling themselves up.
So instead of waiting again he went to the side door and kicked it open. The metal door flew only a few feet before slamming into the side of the tank they had landed against. He looked one way and then the other, there was no one in the immediate vicinity but he was sure that would change in a second.
He climbed on top of the tank just as the enemies noticed him. He took stock of the place they landed. It was in the center of an enemy camp, one where they were making repairs to vehicles. Beyond the camp were a few buildings but not much else between them and an entrance into the structure.
He looked on the other side of the transport as he took up position on the tank, hiding behind the cannon portion. Back going towards the plateau edge was a line of damage from their crash landing. He could also see a number of cannons like he saw on the other plateau. Then there were the several vehicles that were moving towards them.
"Come on," Jace told them as he jumped down and moved around the side of the tank. "The majority of the enemy are disoriented, we will take this chance to run toward the entrance of the Elder Council structure."
When he arrived at the front of the tank he raised his rifle and fired a few times at a group of enemies that were running toward them. The Wildfire jumped slightly in his hands as the bullets tore through the enemy, detaching limbs and instantly killing several of the enemy soldiers.
Following behind him were Uti and Josef. As soon as they started to fire their weapons the enemy began hiding. The enemy had become suppressed as they moved through the base, moving in between the various broken down vehicles.
Jace arrived at the edge of the last vehicle and had to back up slightly as an Accer popped out with a sword in hand. The Accer attempted to behead Jace, but before he could even fully dash at him Uti fired their weapon and plasma went right through the Accer's armor. It screeched as a bloody hole appeared in their body. This chapter was made possible by the MV_LEMPYR community.
But the enemy was not dead, so Jace just kicked the enemy to the side as he picked up his pace. Flinching as a plasma shard hit him in the shoulder causing him to flinch. It triggered his shield, the plasma shard bouncing off the yellow hexagonal pattern that appeared.
It was a sniper situated on the roof of one of the books. Jace aimed and fired a volley of bullets the bullets slammed into the building carving holes in the building and killing the enemy sniper. "We need to use the buildings as cover," Jace declared as he spotted another sniper popping up and firing at Uti, who ducked under the shot.
""Yes sir!"" They answered in unison as Jace ran into the door. Going through the entrance of the building and causing the enemies that were inside to jump in surprise. Jace ignored them and moved through the room.
He smashed through another wall as he went out of the back of the building, barely making a grunt as he moved. Then a second later as the others were outside following him to the next building he threw a grenade to the hole in the building he had just made.
Jace then took up position on the corner of a building and fired a few shots at some other snipers. While he could hear the other two firing their own weapons. Jace then moved to the next building, it would not take them long to get to the entrance of the Elder Council structure.
While behind him there was an explosion as the plasma grenade triggered other weapons and explosives in the first building he passed through.
