Katrina journeyed out into the outer town, before reaching the border, careful to avoid stepping on traps and the soldiers patrolling the area, before successfully making her way out of the silver territory. Her feet hurt from traveling such a long distance in this new town, but she had no choice as a vehicle would only arouse suspicion.
She walked a few more miles before reaching a gas station café. She decided to go in there and have a drink, at least she'd rest for a while before continuing. As she entered and took her seat in front of the counter, she ordered a glass of water and a sandwich, she then noticed people staring at her in a strange manner. "Good afternoon, lady. The name is Bill. Say, you're not from around here, are you?" His mouth reeked of alcohol as he spoke.
Katrina eyed him, "And what has that got to do with you?"
"Nothing, but you'd be dead meat if you happen to be one of them' Silver wolves."

"Then you'd better keep your mouth shut if you plan on making it halfway through this town. I'm not going to tell anyone who you are because I kinda like you, but you might not be so lucky if you mention it to another Turnal wolf just like that."
She nearly shouted, "Why can't I? The Silver wolves have never offended anyone!"
"No, of course, they haven't, but your Alpha has done quite enough to make them killed and despised scorns around here, we now do to them the same thing your Alpha does to Turnal wolves when they are caught on his territory."
Her heart leaped again and this time, the fear didn't escape her face.
Bill nodded, "Yup, so don't say I didn't warn you, pretty. Keep your damn mouth shut."

Miranda woke. As her eyes slowly began to open, her conscious mind firing into existence, she could immediately sense that she'd slept well. Proper sleep, the kind of exhausted sleep that forces your body and mind to totally and completely rest. Images of the night before flashed in her mind's eye.
